Chapter 28 Shou'an is truly a good dog
"What are you waiting for? Eat!"
"Lin Zhaozhao, am I dreaming? Will I wake up after taking a bite?" Li Yunyun took a deep breath, her eyes gleaming, and Lin Zhaozhao pinched her face hard.
"pain."
"Oh, this isn't a dream." Li Yunyun sipped the chicken soup with a devout heart, savoring the taste and reminiscing. "Waaah, Zhaozhao, I have no regrets in this life."
Just then, the hot pot was started, and the spicy aroma filled the air. A bloody ram's horn came closer. Lin Zhaozhao touched her face and chuckled, "Sorry, I forgot about you guys."
After putting down the bowl, Lin Zhaozhao first gave Meimei and Grapevine a bath, dried them off, and then fed the two little ones their special abilities. Then she took out Meimei's bowl and put some food on it.
Having learned her lesson from the last spicy chicken noodle incident, Meimei toned it down considerably and ate clear broth hot pot with Lin Zhaozhao. Later, when she complained that it wasn't spicy enough, Lin Zhaozhao added some spicy broth to calm her down.
Halfway through the meal, Lin Yangyang was awakened by the aroma. As soon as she leaned in, she felt an aura of dominance from above.
Lin Yangyang, who was usually quite tall, suddenly looked shorter and timidly called out "Second Sister" with her head down.
"You still know I'm your second sister, but you won't listen to me. You're quite the connoisseur of food, though." Lin Zhaozhao turned gently to Lin Yangyang. "Do you know how much damage you've caused me?"
"You've just recovered from a serious illness, don't even think about these things." Lin Zhaozhao snorted coldly and handed Lin Yangyang a bowl of bland and tasteless porridge.
Li Yunyun kept her eyes down and focused on her own thoughts, silently speeding up the process of stuffing food into her mouth.
"But Second Sister, you just gave birth too." Lin Yangyang tried to salvage the situation, but the moment she met Lin Zhaozhao's eyes, she buried her face in her porridge, gazing longingly at the hot pot and chicken soup.
In a dilapidated house on the way to Shou'an and Huichun
Li Xiujuan stared intently at the official road, afraid of missing anything. Lin Fusheng peeled the cooked wild beans, blew on them to cool them, and fed them to Li Xiujuan. The warmth made Li Xiujuan cry out with red eyes, "It's been two days, why haven't I seen anyone yet?"
"Zhao Niang is heavily pregnant and will give birth in the next few days. What will she do if she has to go alone?" Li Xiujuan became more and more pessimistic as she thought about it, and covered her face with her hands, burying her face in her knees.
“Juan Niang, don’t worry, your eldest and second brothers have already gone to look for them.”
"Besides, Yangyang and Yunyun didn't join us either. Maybe the three sisters are together. Let's look on the bright side."
Grandma Li and Grandma Lin comforted her one after another. Zhang Dandan felt quite bad. She was alright because Junsheng was still alive and she still had something to look forward to. Unlike her sister-in-law, who had four children, her two sons had gone to the battlefield and their fates were still unknown. She had finally escaped the famine to Shou'an, but then a refugee riot broke out, and her two daughters were also lost.
If we really lose everything, how will we live our lives?
Thinking this, Zhang Dandan's eyes also reddened.
With a bang, the door to the dilapidated house was pushed open, and Li Minghui and Li Minghuang returned.
"Big brother, second brother, have you found them yet?" Li Xiujuan asked hopefully, but lowered her eyes when she saw that the two of them were alone.
“Little sister, it’s not a bad thing that we didn’t find it. Before we came to Shou’an, we all said we would go to Huichun. Maybe Zhaozhao, Yangyang and Yunyun went to Huichun.”
