Chapter 37 Superpower Upgrade (2/2)

"This is unique in Huichun and will definitely fetch a high price."

"This is the first time I've ever seen this fruit. If it were me, I wouldn't dare buy it."

"What we want is something rare. Tell me, what good things doesn't Huichun City have?" Although Huichun is not as central as Shou'an in Daliang, its geographical location is not bad. First, it is a must-go place for those heading south. Second, it has docks and frequent exchanges with foreign merchants, which has led to the unprecedented prosperity of Huichun's commerce.

Commerce was booming, and good things from all over the country could be delivered to your door as long as you had money.

"Zhao Niang, this item is rare, don't cause any trouble." After her two sons went to war, Li Xiujuan now only wants stability and to live her ordinary life in peace.

"Don't worry, Mother. I will definitely find a reasonable excuse for what I'm doing so that no one can find fault with me. If any trouble really arises, I will definitely stop and protect myself."

“You’d better keep your word.” Li Xiujuan could tell from Lin Zhaozhao’s expression that she had something else on her mind. “Although we don’t cause trouble, we’re not afraid if someone really bullies us. If all else fails, we’ll just leave Huichun.”

"I was just saying you've become more composed, and it hasn't been that long." Lin Fusheng pulled Li Xiujuan back, seemingly blaming her, but actually full of indulgence. Lin Zhaozhao felt like she was choking.

"Zhaoniang, Huichun City is full of business opportunities. You can go ahead and do whatever you want. Just remember, don't be indecisive."

"Father, I understand."

After putting Ping An to sleep, Lin Zhaozhao took Lin Yangyang to the dock. After walking around, she had a black cloth bag in her hand. Then she went to the West Market to find a merchant who could sell fruit trees.

Most of the fruit trees in the vendors' hands did not meet Lin Zhaozhao's requirements. She wanted to sell potted fruit trees. Fruit trees that were too tall would not be easy to prune and harvest. A little over one meter tall was just right.

After finally finding a merchant who met Lin Zhaozhao's requirements, the merchant refused to sell separately no matter what. It was only after Lin Zhaozhao noticed the pottery jars the merchant was using and promised to buy pottery jars from him at the same time that she managed to win him over.

The next day, the merchant delivered the fruit trees as promised: twenty apple trees, twenty peach trees, and twenty fig trees, all laden with fruit. He also delivered sixty earthenware jars, costing thirteen taels of silver.

As soon as the bill was settled, the vendors vanished as if bitten by a dog, disappearing into the crowd in the blink of an eye.

"Dad, slow down, I can't keep up." Lin Xiaohu said, panting, as he followed behind Lin Dagen.

"Slow down, or we'll wait until someone notices something's wrong and comes to return it."

"Why return the fruit? Aren't our fruit trees doing just fine? I think selling them for two coins apiece is already cheap."

"You don't know anything. Huichun is like spring all year round, and there is never a shortage of fruit. Apples, peaches, and figs are everywhere. If you can sell them for two coins a pound when they are in season, you are lucky. Not to mention that the fruit trees I sold did not keep up with the nutrition. They are still stunted after a year."

"If it weren't for this little wench coming five or six times a day, I wouldn't be getting involved in this mess."

"Dad, you're just lying to me." Lin Xiaohu turned to run back, but Lin Dagen grabbed him and kicked him hard. "Lying to me my foot! I've clearly marked the price, and I'm honest with everyone. That woman is blind and insisted on buying it. Let me tell you, once the money is in my pocket, don't even think about taking it out again."

Thinking of the absurd things Lin Xiaohu had done in the past, Lin Dagen regretted talking too much. He kicked his son twice more in anger and ran away.

Lin Xiaohu glanced at his father, then at the direction Lin Zhaozhao had left in, and made up his mind to head towards the dock.

With no outsiders around, Lin Zhaozhao began to examine the fruit trees. The fruit was rather sour and had worms in it. No wonder it hadn't responded to anything before, but then agreed so readily.

However, now that things are out in the open, it's time to make a big splash.

Lin Zhaozhao first poured out the soil she had dug outside Huichun City that day. She was responsible for poking holes in the pottery jar to allow air to pass through, while Lin Yangyang was responsible for filling the pottery jar with soil and planting the fruit trees.
