Chapter 60 Brain Defect - A Broken Dome (2/2)

Lin Zhaozhao recognized the man as the middle-aged man who had brought her pastries during her escape from famine.

He clearly didn't recognize her, and with a friendly smile, suggested that they had something to discuss.

Lin Zhaozhao followed his lead and, together with Lin Yangyang, led the people into the side room.

The three sat down amidst rising steam. The newcomer announced his identity, "I am the steward of the Ning family. I have come today on behalf of my young lady to discuss a collaboration with Madam Lin."

"Please speak," Lin Zhaozhao gestured for him to begin, casually sipping her tea and eating pastries. Unlike a young lady from a noble family who ate slowly and deliberately, she ate half a piece at a time, then gulped down tea to make sure it was too sweet.

That vulgar woman is utterly clueless.

Butler Ning didn't show it on his face, but he was inwardly full of complaints, wondering how this stupid woman had managed to build such a large business.

"My young lady will protect your Lin's Fruit Shop from all worries, and you will send 60% of the profits to the Ning residence every month." Butler Ning's bluntness left Lin Zhaozhao completely bewildered; it was the first time she had ever seen someone rob her money and then offer her a CPU as well.

"Anything else?" Lin Zhaozhao smiled gently, but her smile didn't reach her eyes. Lin Yangyang subconsciously shrank her legs, trying to minimize her presence.

"Another thing is to cut off cooperation with Song Family Ceramics and send fruit to the Ning residence every day to ensure my young lady's needs are met..." Butler Ning spoke eloquently, becoming more and more outrageous, completely unaware of Lin Zhaozhao's suddenly cold expression. In his view, this ignorant businesswoman was honored to have a distinguished person personally come to her door, and she had no reason to refuse.

That's why Butler Ning's pupils dilated in shock when he was being scolded.

"It's not even dark yet, what kind of daydream are you having? Protecting my Lin Family Fruit Shop, and then you expect me to take 60% of your profits with just a few words? What, do I look like I have a brainstem deficiency, with only a half-baked expert inside?"

"If I were to agree to your outrageous request, I would be the one who's lost my mind."

"You, you, you...you ignorant country bumpkin! My young lady is the legitimate daughter of the Prefect of Huichun!" Steward Ning was so angry that he spoke recklessly, trying to intimidate her.

"So I deserve to suffer? Get lost." Lin Zhaozhao snorted coldly, glancing at Lin Yangyang, "Show her out, never to be seen again."

"Madam Lin, what goes around comes around. This matter will not end here. Don't come kneeling and begging me then." Butler Ning laughed angrily, his threats pouring out like beans. Lin Zhaozhao's brows relaxed. "I'll wait for good news."

"You're as stupid as a pig. You asked for this. Don't regret it later." Butler Ning turned and left. Lin Zhaozhao muttered behind him, "Why is he like the Big Bad Wolf? He always says the same two sentences."

As his figure disappeared from sight, Lin Zhaozhao's eyes grew increasingly deep.

I just saw Lin Jinxiu and Ning Wanqiu getting tangled up yesterday, and now they've come here. It seems like things won't be peaceful for a while.

Steward Ning returned to the Ning residence in defeat. When questioned by Ning Wanqiu, he embellished the story and, unsurprisingly, Ning Wanqiu flew into a rage, causing several maids to suffer as well.

Seeing this, Butler Ning's smile deepened. Although he was just a butler in the Ning family, in Huichun City, everyone greeted him with a smile whenever he went out. But today he was treated so rudely. He not only wanted to ruin Lin's Fruit Shop, but also wanted that ignorant village woman to pay the price. Only then could he vent his anger.

He wanted to see what would happen to her when she faced the madwoman Ning Wanqiu.

Just thinking about it made Butler Ning incredibly excited, let alone witnessing it in person.

Tsk, poor thing.
