Chapter 61 Appetizer (2/2)

The person hiding in the concealed spot, who was originally drowsy, opened their eyes wide like saucers upon hearing the commotion.

"What a clever trick! Men, smash up Lin's Fruit Shop and see how they deliver the goods. If they can't deliver, they'll be bankrupt."

At a command, everyone covered their faces and headed towards the warehouse, scaling walls and leaping over rooftops to enter.

"Good heavens, they actually hid so many potted plants."

"It smells really good, but unfortunately it will all be gone."

As the group stood in the gap, about to chop at the potted plant with their knives, Xiao Li and Xiao Teng, who were standing behind them, attacked simultaneously. One tied the plant up, and the other smashed it on the head. In just a few seconds, the group, who had been shouting wildly, were piled up in the corner like dead pigs.

Lin Zhaozhao walked out and took a deep breath. It seemed that things were getting more and more complicated.

However, anyone who dares to bully her deserves to be punished.

"Second sister, everything has been handed over." Lin Yangyang handed over the account book and banknotes, which Lin Zhaozhao took and put into her spatial storage, gesturing for her to look at the corner of the wall.

Lin Yangyang knew her second sister inside and out, and asked with a blank face, "Second sister, how do you want to play?"

"Of course, we're going to go big."

The city of Huichun was quiet in the dead of night, with only the occasional sound of night watchmen and the long, drawn-out crowing of roosters.

Suddenly, a heavy thud was heard in the darkness. The watchman followed the sound and saw a dark figure climbing the wall. His shouts rang out.

"Help! Thief!"

The person who was still asleep was woken up. Before they could tidy up, they were still sleepy. By the time the sleepiness completely dissipated, the thief had been caught and was lying on the ground with a bruised and swollen face. Flames were clearly visible in the distance.

The next day, Lin Zhaozhao slept until late morning. When she arrived at the shop, she saw that the shop door had been splattered with blood. The stench was overwhelming and the sight was shocking. Li Yunyun, Li Yunzhou, Li Yunhai, and Li Junsheng, who had gotten up earlier, were cleaning it up. However, the blood had been splattered for a long time and had almost soaked through the wooden door.

Lin Zhaozhao suppressed her anger, her thin lips pressed tightly together, "Don't dirty your hands, I'll have someone take care of the shop door."

"Yangyang, go report this to the authorities."

The constables arrived quickly and immediately shifted the blame onto her, asking if she had offended anyone and demanding that she back down and settle the matter.

Lin Zhaozhao understood that the constable meant well. After all, in the eyes of outsiders, how could she, an outsider and a woman, possibly fight against the local bullies? It was better to lie down than to put up a fight.

After seeing the constables off, Lin Zhaozhao led the people into the inner room and distributed wages, subsidies, and bonuses according to the account book, which greatly worried the four Li siblings.

"Sister Zhaozhao, we'll share joys and sorrows, and go through thick and thin together."

“They’re all family, how can we desert our posts in the face of battle?”

“You helped us when we were down on our luck, and now we’re facing this together.”

Seeing how serious the four Li siblings were, Lin Zhaozhao chuckled and gave each of them a flick on the wrist. “If you didn’t know better, you would have thought that Lin’s Fruit Shop was going to go out of business and close down. Here is your wages for this month. Take them carefully. Don’t worry, just think of it as a few days off.”

“The shop has been very busy lately. Several of you have been working day and night with me. Even an iron man couldn’t keep up.”

"You're really not lying?" Li Yunhai looked suspicious as Lin Zhaozhao pinched his big breast hard. "Ouch, sis, my dear sis, it hurts!"

“There are people causing trouble every day. If we can’t afford to offend them, can’t we at least avoid them? Taking a few days off will keep us from seeing those filthy things and make us feel better.” After much persuasion, Li Yunzhou, Li Yunyun, and their group finally accepted their wages and went home one after another.
