Chapter 8 No Merchant is Without Deceit (2/2)

Just when everyone thought the matter was over, Zhang Dandan's family arrived early in the morning. Ostensibly, they were there to stand up for Zhang Dandan, but in reality, they wanted a share of the spoils. This saga dragged on until noon.

"Grandma, don't be angry."

"Our Zhao Niang is so thoughtful." Old Mrs. Li's breathing had evened out. The whole family had eaten a little something, and Zhang Dandan and her two children returned. There was still some grease on her mouth. When she saw that everyone was looking at her, she pretended to stuff a coarse grain bun into Li Minghuang's hand. "This wild vegetable dumpling cost me four coins. It's very expensive."

Liu Yinxiu and Old Lady Li understood her meaning perfectly. They immediately looked away and asked Li Minghui and Li Minghuang to go and make the purchases. When the topic of burying the mule cart came up, Zhang Dandan jumped out and expressed strong opposition.

"Mother, these mule carts cost more than ten taels of silver each, which we can't afford. Maybe we should forget about buying a mule cart." Zhang Dandan refused with a smile, using the method of not buying it herself and just taking advantage of the situation. They were all relatives, and she couldn't just watch them suffer.

"Think it over carefully. You said it yourself, so don't complain when you suffer later." Old Mrs. Li said with a cold smile, revealing Zhang Dandan's unwavering confidence.

"You think so too?" Zhang Dandan had already made up her mind. Li Minghuang ignored her and instead glanced at Li Yunyun. Li Yunyun naturally sided with her mother and immediately nodded emphatically.

"You'll regret it later."

After the Li family finished their rest, the whole family braved the scorching sun and set off for Qingning Town.

Lin Zhaozhao sat in the open space of the mule cart. The rest of the open space was piled with luggage. The heavy items of the Lin family were all stored in her space, so what was piled in the mule cart was just a lot.

The summer breeze lifted the carriage curtain, letting in a ray of sunlight. Lin Zhaozhao watched Qingning Town recede into the distance, then leaned back against the carriage wall with a relaxed posture.

The mule cart swayed gently as Lin Zhaozhao closed her eyes and sent her thoughts into the space.

The moment Lin Zhaozhao entered the space, she had the illusion that she had gone to the wrong place. There were vegetable gardens and grass that had been chewed bare, large areas of cornfields that had been overturned, sweet potatoes that had been pulled out and rolled everywhere, and a wooden shed that had appeared out of nowhere.

Inside the wooden shed, the animals huddled together, their fur scattered on the ground. The rabbits shivered, while the piglets and lambs grunted from hunger.

It was obvious that several fierce battles had taken place in the wooden shed, with the chickens and rabbits being bullied.

With a thought, the wooden shed appeared out of thin air: a retractable wooden shed, whose internal structure and quantity could be reduced or expanded with a thought, impervious to knives and bullets, with a suggested retail price of 100,000.

And this retails for 100,000? That's highway robbery.

Lin Zhaozhao scoffed, then her face darkened as she realized something. She quickly checked her account and saw that her balance, which had originally been only four digits, had increased by two digits, but with a negative sign in front of it.

Damn it, when it comes to treachery, you dog mall are the best.

So that's where they were waiting for her.

Overnight, Lin Zhaozhao was six figures in debt, and she felt like she was having a heart attack.

With rapid breathing, she clicked into the shopping page and saw an order for a retractable wooden shed. The money she paid was from a loan with a 50% interest rate. Although there was no time limit for repayment, her account balance was negative, and she couldn't use anything if she didn't repay.

Sure enough, there's no such thing as a free lunch.
