Chapter 476 Clearing the Scene

When the monks of Fahua Temple saw the imperial guards, they realized that someone from the royal family was coming.

The young monk hurriedly informed the abbot, who immediately went out to greet him after hearing the news.

The deputy commander of the Imperial Guard said to the abbot, "The Queen Mother will arrive later, and the entire temple needs to be cleared. I hope the abbot will forgive me."

The abbot clasped his hands together and said, "As you may. There have been many pilgrims staying in the temple recently. I will ask my subordinates to ask them to leave."

"No need, we will clear the area ourselves. Please ask the abbot to choose a secluded place and tell Master Guichen that the Empress Dowager wants to listen to his lecture. Please ask Master Guichen to be prepared." Commander Fu ordered.

"Okay." The abbot nodded in agreement.

“Clear the area!”

Commander Fu waved his hand, and the guards scattered and drove all the pilgrims from the temple down the mountain. When the guards arrived at the backyard, all the people living in the side rooms, whether they were dignitaries or businessmen and celebrities, were driven out.

When the guards arrived at a courtyard, they were stopped by two young monks.

"This is where Master Guichen practices Zen. Do not disturb him."

The guards drew their swords immediately, but the two young monks did not move. They had always followed Master Gui Chen and were used to seeing the powerful and wealthy, so they were naturally not afraid of the guards.

"Get out of the way."

"If you two disturb Master Guichen's meditation, then I'm afraid you won't be able to see him today. A master has his own rules."

"I wonder if you two can bear the charge of ruining the noble's business?"

The two guards did not dare to move, and one of them immediately went to ask Commander Fu for instructions.

Commander Fu rushed over, but was also stopped outside the door by the young monk.

The young monk bowed to Commander Fu and said in a neither humble nor arrogant manner: "Only Master Guichen is here, and outsiders are not allowed to enter. If you feel that this place is not safe, then even if you meet Master Guichen, your life will be in danger."

Commander Fu smiled and said, "That makes sense."

He waved his hand and the two guards retreated.

When the two young monks were relaxing, Commander Fu took direct action and knocked them both unconscious.

"Walk."

Commander Fu walked into the courtyard with two of his men and began to search the house from top to bottom to make sure that there were no outsiders hiding in the house.

After hesitating for a while, Commander Fu knocked on the door of the room where Master Guichen was practicing Zen.

"The commander of the Imperial Guards wants to see Master Guichen."

The house was silent.

When he spoke for the third time, a voice finally came from the room.

"Commander Fu, just check it yourself. Don't worry."

After getting permission for a long time, Commander Fu pushed open the door, and a scent of sandalwood wafted into his face. Sitting cross-legged on the cushion was a monk wearing a five-colored robe, with his eyes closed and twirling Buddhist beads in his hands, as if he didn't care about his arrival at all.

Commander Fu did not dare to act rashly. He simply glanced around and made sure that there was no one else in the room except Master Gui Chen. Then he left the room.

Within the time it took to burn an incense stick, the entire Fahua Temple was checked to ensure that there were only monks from the Fahua Temple and no other outsiders.

What Commander Fu didn't know was that when he checked the inside of the room, there was a group of people tied up in the dark room. Their hands and feet were tied, and their mouths were stuffed with cloth to prevent them from making any sound.

When Commander Fu came in, someone had already woken up. After waking up, he found himself tied up. After the initial panic, he soon noticed that there were other people on his left and right sides.

When the Minister of the Central Secretariat saw the person clearly, his pupils suddenly widened.

He heard noises outside and wanted to make a sound but couldn't. When he didn't know what to do, Minister Bao who was sitting beside him woke up.

Minister Bao was also shocked at first, but he was much calmer than the Minister of the Central Secretariat. He turned his head and met the Minister of the Central Secretariat's eyes.

Both parties blinked and made eye contact.

Soon, Li Yushi and others woke up one after another. After waking up, they were all panicked, and then confused.

They were all officials from the capital city. Some were of high rank, some of low rank, but without exception they all knew each other, after all, they were all colleagues.

Since they were unable to move or speak, they communicated with each other through eye contact.

Censor Li: "Who brought us here?"

Minister Bao: "This is the Buddhist temple."

They all smelled the faint scent of sandalwood used in worshiping Buddha.

Everyone nodded and understood.

The Minister of the Central Secretariat blinked and said, "This is the Fahua Temple."

He kept blinking, but no one could understand.

The Minister of the Central Secretariat was annoyed when he saw that they did not understand, and he angrily called these people stupid.

They woke up later than him, so he didn't hear the conversation between the people in the house, but he heard it clearly and knew exactly where this place was.

He didn't know what purpose the people who kidnapped them had, but based on the conversation between Commander Fu and Master Gui Chen, he knew that this matter was not simple at all.

Everyone in the room looked at each other, and everyone's eyes became particularly active.

At this moment, the wall behind them moved, and Su Yin walked into the dark room and came in front of them.

The officials were very surprised when they saw that the person coming was a little girl.

Facing the cold and stern looks from the officials, Su Yin remained calm and said with a smile, "Please don't blame me, my lords. I have no choice but to use such a crude and primitive method to invite you all over."

"I'm sure you all must be wondering why I brought you here?"

The officials looked at her in silence, waiting for her to continue.

Even if I have any ideas, I can't express them.

"Actually, I have no ill intentions. I brought you here today to treat you to a good show."
