After tea was served, Xu Jiang sat down again. Seeing Du Hui reading the book of poetry, she asked with a smile, "What do you think, sir?"
Du Hui raised his eyelids and said, "There are good and bad things."
"I'm all ears."
"It is good to be plain and easy to understand, but it is bad to be too straightforward, with form but no spirit. Poetry should value substance and essence, spirit and meaning. If it is too focused on substance and loses spirit and meaning, or too focused on spirit and loses substance, it is definitely not a masterpiece."
"I will teach you."
Although Du Hui's words were harsh, he did not put down the booklet in his hand. He read it silently and then said, "There are some good sentences."
The tea was brewing just at this moment, and it was still Laoyin tea. Du Hui smelled the rich tea fragrance, and a hint of curiosity flashed in his calm eyes.
"What kind of tea is that?"
"Laoyin tea, brought from the mountains, would you like to try it, sir?"
"I've never heard of that. Give me a bowl."
Xu Jiang poured two bowls of tea and offered him one first, saying, "This tea tastes best when it's cold."
Hearing this, Du Hui had no choice but to put the tea back and said with a double meaning: "It looks ordinary, but it will make people's temper worse."
"As the saying goes, good tea is never too late." Xu Jiang replied with a smile.
Du Hui simply got straight to the point. "I want that set of 'Ziyun's Four Fu'. Tell me what you'll pay me for it."
"Are you really determined to win, sir?"
"Do you think I have to come to you three times to show my sincerity?"
"Don't be upset, sir." Xu Jiang soothed him, then said earnestly, "It's not that I don't want to sell you, but my master left me a message: unless a rare and unique copy of this book is found by someone who truly loves it, I will never sell it, to prevent it from being lost due to improper storage."
Du Hui's expression softened considerably upon hearing this, and he nodded, saying, "Most people in the world cannot obtain the love they love, and when they do obtain it, they do not cherish it. Your worries, Master, are not without reason."
"I see that you are well-versed in literature and science, and have a keen eye. I'm sure you're not the type to cling to the new and neglect the old. Don't worry, I'll definitely not let you return empty-handed this time."
Du Hui was overjoyed to get what he wanted, and said three times in a row, "Good, good, good!"
Xu Jiang was infected by him and couldn't help but laugh. Then she turned to him and reminded him, "Sir, the tea is cold. It's time to drink it."
"I was so proud of myself, so proud of myself, that I almost forgot about this tea." Du Hui picked up the tea bowl and took a sip. He felt his mouth water and the fragrance on his lips and teeth. He immediately praised, "It's really a good tea!"
Xu Jiang also picked up the tea bowl and drank half of it in one breath.
