Chapter 102 One Hundred and Two Cuts

The world is shrouded in clouds and fog, and smoke shrouds the cold green. The passers-by look sad.

Everyone's mood was not very bright, but once they left the city, the sky was far away and the land was vast, and their worries were slightly relieved.

A few people came to the peach orchard. The remaining petals in the orchard had faded, and the only place left was lush peach leaves. The sour fruits were hidden in the shadows of the overlapping leaves, and they had to endure wind and rain to mature and reach their full potential.

Passing through the peach forest and going up the mountain, there is a solitary grave hidden among the green cypresses, burying the mortal body, while the soul has peacefully passed away.

Several people landed, tied the donkey under a tree, and each took the offerings, sickles, incense and candles and walked towards Mrs. Lin.

After walking for a while, they came to a thin spring. Deep in the spring was Mrs. Lin's grave.

Xu Jiang surveyed the area secretly. The quiet gurgling of springs, the gentle breeze, the shadows of bamboo and cypress trees, the chirping of birds, and the fragrance of flowers filled the air. Looking out, the entire Peach Garden was in sight. It was a truly exceptional place to build a home.

I guess Master Lin looked at them for a long time.

Xu Jiang looked at the new grave. In just over a month, the yellow earth had disappeared and was covered with green grass.

Master Lin stood there for a while before walking over to weed and repair the grave. Lin Hongchu took a deep breath and also went over to help weed and wipe the tombstone.

Zeng Zhui, Xu Jiang and Lu Zhen were responsible for the offerings, placing incense, candles, water, wine and cold food neatly on the steps of the tomb.

After everything was done, Master Lin led the younger generation to worship the gods. Lin Hongchu, Xu Jiang, Zeng Zhui, and Lu Zhen stood in order, bowing deeply as Master Lin read the sacrificial words.

After the visit, Master Lin stepped forward and stroked the tombstone. As usual in the academy, he said to Madam Lin, "Taitao, the children are here to see you."

The breeze blew, as if Mrs. Lin was responding gently.

Lin Hongchu looked mournful, but she had stopped crying. Although her mother had passed away, she was also free from the pain of illness. She had endured so many years for herself and her father, and now she was finally free and liberated.

"Mother, don't worry about me and father, we will be fine."

The dead are gone, all karma is gone, inside and outside the grave are all living people.

Go back, go back, you go back to the Heaven of Separation and I go back to the mortal world.

See you again after a hundred years.

Master Lin said, "You go first, I'll come later."

After they packed up their things, they headed down the mountain. Xu Jiang was the last one left. When she looked back by chance, she saw Master Lin wiping his tears by pulling his clothes.

She stopped for a moment and left with red eyes.

After returning to the city, Xu Jiang and Zeng Zhui first sent Lin Hongchu and Master Lin back to the school, and then parted ways and went back to their respective homes.

Xu Jiang took Lu Zhen back to the bookstore. When they reached the front of the bookstore, they were blinded by a bald head.

Xu Jiang was surprised and asked, "Why are you here today?" Then she saw that he was not wearing monk's robes and was carrying a package with him, and she immediately understood his purpose.

Sure enough, the next moment she heard Mo Ming say, "I'm here to say goodbye to you."

Xu Jiang hurriedly opened the door, invited him and Lu Zhen into the house, and then went to tie up the donkey.

Inside the temple, a large and a small man stood facing each other. Lu Zhen looked at Mo Ming curiously and asked, "Are you a monk?"

Mo Ming looked down at the little thing in front of him and nodded, "I'll count it as half."

Lu Zhen became even more curious, "Why half?"

Mo Ming pretended to be profound. "Because there are still causes and effects in this mortal world that haven't been resolved, so it's only half."

Lu Zhen tilted his head, "Cause and effect?"

Mo Ming explained, “It’s the fate between people.”

Lu Zhen asked again, "Why does fate have to end?"

Mo Ming choked and couldn't answer for a moment.

Seeing that he couldn't answer, Lu Zhen changed the question, "Is fate man-made?"

Mo Ming shook his head. “It’s just fate. It’s beyond human control.”

Lu Zhen brought the question back to the subject, "If it wasn't humanly done, why did you want to end it? Aren't you a human?"

Mo Ming was stunned at first, then his eyebrows raised. Hey, why is this kid swearing?

Lu Zhen circled around him and discovered that he had legs. He then asked, "So he's a human. How does a human resolve karma?"

Mo Ming reached out and picked him up, shaking him. "Why do you have so many questions?"

Lu Zhen said seriously, "Because you haven't answered yet."

The two looked at each other. Mo Ming felt defeated and asked humbly, "Then do you think I shouldn't end it?"

Lu Zhen shook his head, "I don't know."

The little guy who only cares about killing and not burying!

Mo Ming shook Lu Zhen again, and finally made him utter half a sentence, "Don't..."

Mo Ming stopped and asked, "What if I don't want to?"

Lu Zhen felt dizzy and dazed. "I got angry out of shame."

Hearing this, Mo Ming became even more angry and embarrassed, and picked him up and spun him around.

When Xu Jiang entered the room, she saw the two of them enjoying themselves so much that she asked with a smile, "Do you get along so well?"

Only then did Mo Ming put the man down.

Lu Zhen spun and fell towards Xu Jiang, who quickly grabbed him and held him steady.

"What's going on?"

After Lu Zhen stood firm, he pursed his lips and complained, "Sister, he bullied me."

Mo Ming scratched his head and smiled at Xu Jiang.

Xu Jiang was speechless.

Lu Zhen continued to complain: "It was clearly him who couldn't answer the question, but he was angry with me."

Xu Jiang was speechless. Lu Zhen's habit of asking questions was back. Then he couldn't help but wonder, "What question didn't you answer?"

Lu Zhen repeated the conversation between the two men to Xu Jiang. After listening, Xu Jiang looked at Mo Ming with a smile. Mo Ming coughed twice, found a soft cushion, and sat cross-legged in front of the low table.

Xu Jiang led Lu Zhen to sit in front of a low table and poured each of them a cup of cold-brewed mint tea. The water was boiled last night and brewed this morning, so it was just right to drink at this time.

"Mint clears your mouth and mind, relieves heat and soothes your stomach. You two should drink more."

Lu Zhen held the teacup and drank it in small sips. Mo Ming stared at his round head and thought it would be a good fit to shave his head.

Xu Jiang poured herself a cup of tea and asked Mo Ming, "What will happen to those monks from the Western Regions if you leave?"
