Chapter 104: The 104th Slash

"That's all that's needed." Xu Jiang turned around and smiled at him, "Zhaoyue is really smart."

Zhaoyue was very happy.

Xu Jiang couldn't help herself, so she leaned over and kissed him on the face, and Lou Yunchun took the opportunity to hug her.

Finally, Xu Jiang looked at the remnants of the feast on the ground and said, "I don't know if I'll be able to come back. Should I collect these things?"

"Let's collect it first and take it out to their servants."

Xu Jiang nodded and said, "Okay." It would be a shame if it was left here and someone picked it up.

The two men immediately gathered up their belongings, packed them up, and loaded them onto their respective donkeys and horses. The numerous gifts and Xu Jiang's presence nearly crushed the stubborn donkey. It pawed its hooves in dissatisfaction, about to vent its anger, but Xu Jiang slapped it into submission.

It turns out that no grass is eaten in vain!

The return journey was more difficult than the journey there, but Xu Jiang and Lou Yunchun were not in a hurry. They walked and stopped, looking for flowers and enjoying the scenery, and occasionally stopped to walk to let the horses and donkeys drink water and eat grass.

Halfway through the journey, they saw some people playing on the other side of the stream. When they looked over, they found that they were members of the Zhou family.

In addition to the Zhou family and those scholars, there was also a group of musicians and singing girls. The group of scholars in white clothes mixed in with them, which was quite eye-catching.

Xu Jiang looked at their unruly appearance and thought of the old man who had gone out to seek immortals, and couldn't help but sigh in his heart.

If these people are used as the cornerstone, the building will collapse.

Lou Yunchun said lightly: "Let's go."

Xu Jiang turned to look at him, and suddenly felt hope rising in his heart. He sneered to himself: Why bother yourself with trivial matters? Isn't there someone like this in front of you?

The two returned to the intersection, where cars and people were coming and going. There were people carrying baskets on the roadside selling tea and porridge, flowers and vegetables, and shrimps and snails. It was very lively.

Lou Yunchun and Xu Jiang came to the stable to inquire about the carriages and horses of Zhong Lu and others. The stable manager pointed to an open space and the two went there.

When they looked over, they saw four carriages waiting there. They went over to explain the situation, handed over their belongings, and told them to go to the mountain pass to guard the road. Then they went back to the roadside to look for something to eat.

After walking for so long, both of them were a little hungry, so they went to ask the woman selling porridge for food.

Xu Jiang asked, "Sister, what kind of porridge do you have?"

The woman replied, "Wheat porridge and glutinous rice porridge, ten coins a bowl."

The price is higher than in the city, but it is reasonable. I have come such a long way to carry it, and I only earn money for my effort.

It just so happened that the forty cents that Lou Yunchun had withdrawn from the stable earlier could come in handy.

"Then I'll need two bowls of glutinous rice porridge and two bowls of wheat porridge."

"Okay, shall we have the porridge or the wheat porridge first?"

"Oatmeal porridge." It's sweet at the beginning, but the other flavors are greatly reduced.

The woman served each of them a bowl of oatmeal porridge.

The oat porridge was still hot, cooked at just the right temperature, with the broken rice turning into soup and the wheat grains popping into powder. It had a strong aroma of grains and was fragrant and soft in the mouth. The two of them couldn't stop eating after one bite.

After eating oat porridge, my stomach still feels hungry, so I have another bowl of glutinous rice porridge. It is sweet, warm and soft, and I feel satisfied.

Lou Yunchun was not satisfied with eating two bowls, so he asked for another bowl of porridge.

Xu Jiang saw someone selling date cakes nearby and bought two pieces to share with Lou Yunchun. Only then did they feel completely full.

A farmer selling flowers nearby was a little jealous of the booming business next door, so he called out to the two of them, "Would you like to buy some flowers? They're freshly picked from the mountains, so they'll be easier to grow back home."

Xu Jiang remembered that she had talked to Lou Yunchun about going to the mountains to dig peach trees in the spring, but after the spring, there were too many things to do and she put it on hold. Only when she saw the farmer did she remember it.

She swept through the farmers' baskets, which were mostly filled with various orchids, lemongrass, water bananas, and a few cardamom plants, but no peach trees.

Seeing that she seemed to be searching, the farmer asked, "What flowers do you want to buy? My home is at the foot of this mountain. I have some other flowers at home. Maybe I can find what you want."

Xu Jiang asked, "Are there any peach trees?"

The farmer and Lou Yunchun were both stunned when they heard this. The farmer said, "We do have peach trees, but they are only four or five years old. They are too big to be transplanted. We do have saplings in the mountains, but we have to dig them up now."

Lou Yunchun asked, "Is it far?"

The farmer shook his head. "It's not far, but I'm setting up my stall here right now and I'm busy."

Xu Jiang was about to say she would come back next time, but the wealthy man waved his hand and said to the farmer, "I'll buy all your flowers, including the peach tree."

Without hesitation, the farmer grabbed his basket and called out to the two men, "Come on, I'll take you to dig!"

Xu Jiang was speechless.

Lou Yunchun took a few steps and saw that she didn't catch up, so he turned back and waited for her.

"Where are you going to plant all these flowers you bought?"

"You can plant them in your bookshop, your garden, and your natural pavilion." Lou Yunchun saw her worry and said with a smile, "Don't worry, it won't be a waste of money, and my father and mother will be happy if I bring them back."

Xu Jiang remembered the cherry tree in Lou's garden, which was also dug by Lou Jing at the Taoist temple in the mountains, so she happily followed the farmer.

The farmers' houses are right by the stream, a few thatched huts, two fences, and a small courtyard.

Before the three of them got close, they heard a dog barking. The farmer shouted, and a yellow dog rushed out of the yard, wagging its tail and running towards them.

“It’s called Wangshan.”

Wangshan first looked at the horse and donkey warily, then sniffed Xu Jiang and Lou Yunchun. Seeing that they had no ill intentions, he circled around the farmer, humming from time to time.

"Good dog, good dog." The farmer touched Wangshan twice and led Xu Jiang and Lou Yunchun to the yard.

The courtyard was surrounded by lush flowers and trees, flanked by vegetable plots where a variety of leeks, sunflowers, onions, and garlic blossomed, all looking juicy and lovely. Peaches, plums, apricots, and pears were intertwined. A month from now, when they would begin to bloom, they would be a truly breathtaking sight. They were already bearing fruit. Furthermore, a few cherry trees, planted by the stream in front of the door, were now a riot of green and yellow, making one's mouth water. Behind the house lay a bamboo forest, its leaves rustling green. Xu Jiang judged them to be moso bamboos, which should have already produced shoots.
