Chapter 165 One Hundred and Sixty-Five

Gaoshan Town.

The Vietnamese doctor and his accomplices sold Yuhu to a group of Tibetan merchants. After dividing the loot, they left Gaoshan Town and planned to return to the Yue village in Liupanxia to hide for a few days.

Just after leaving the town, they encountered a caravan. The Vietnamese doctor took a closer look and found that the one leading the caravan was the "sheep" he had slaughtered.

He was about to turn around and flee into the town, but suddenly eight or nine tall, mighty and menacing men appeared behind him and blocked their retreat.

Zhao Xiu stepped forward and said, "Hand over my purse and Yuhu."

Fortunately, they asked the doctor at the clinic and, with his guidance, intercepted the two men here. Otherwise, it would have been troublesome if they had hidden in the Yue village.

The Vietnamese doctor played dumb again and spoke to Zhao Xiu in Vietnamese. His accomplice, the man who was playing double with him in the crowd, stammered, "This, this is none of my business. I'm just passing through with him. You guys should handle your own business."

As he said this, he ran to the side.

The Vietnamese doctor hurriedly grabbed him and roared at him ferociously. The man pried the Vietnamese doctor's hands apart and kicked him to the ground.

"It has nothing to do with me, it has nothing to do with me." He laughed dryly at Zhao Xiu and was about to slip away, but a sharp steel knife blocked his neck.

The one who stopped him was a Dali Temple patrol guard.

As soon as he saw the knife, his legs went weak and he fell to the ground.

Zhao Xiu continued to press the doctor, "Tell me, where are my purse and jade tiger?"

The Vietnamese doctor continued to prevaricate using Vietnamese language.

Zhao Xiu's followers stepped forward and punched him, shouting, "I know you can speak Chinese. If you continue to act stupid, I will dig out your tongue."

Seeing his true identity exposed, the Vietnamese doctor had no choice but to admit his mistake. "The purse is with me. Yuhu... is sold."

Zhao Xiu asked, "Who did you sell it to?"

"The Tibetans at the inn."

Zhao Xiu ordered his followers to search the two men and take out all the stolen money.

After searching, the attendants found Zhao Xiu's purse on the Vietnamese doctor and five pieces of gold on each of the two men.

The attendant handed the gold to Zhao Xiu, who sneered, "It's not cheap."

The medicine house was burned down, the gold he had obtained was lost, and the Vietnamese doctor's eyes turned red.

Zhao Xiu put all the gold into his purse, then ordered the two men, "Take us to find those Tibetans." Then he pointed at Lou Yunchun and said, "Don't try to play tricks on him, he's a ruthless killer."

The Vietnamese doctor looked over and saw Lou Yunchun's expressionless face, and shuddered suddenly.

"Don't kill me, I'll take you there."

Zhao Xiu nodded with satisfaction.

Lou Yunchun was speechless.

The Vietnamese doctor led the two to an inn. Zhao Xiu asked the innkeeper, but learned that the Tibetan merchants had already left.

The shopkeeper could hardly understand the Xixia language spoken by the Tibetans, and even if there were some who knew the Central Plains dialect, they would not tell the outsiders where they were going.

They stayed there for three days, and the shopkeeper only occasionally heard them mention the word Anxi, which meant they were going to the Anxi Protectorate.

Lou Yunchun asked about the characteristics of the Tibetan merchants, and hurriedly dispersed his men to chase them towards the four entrances of Gaoshan Town, but he did not find any trace of the Tibetans.

Finally, they had to return to the inn to discuss countermeasures.

Lou Yunchun and Zhao Xiu sat opposite each other in the guest room. Zhao Xiu took out the fish book given by Prince Ying and handed it to Lou Yunchun.

After Lou Yunchun took the fish letter, he opened the seal without hesitation and took out the letter inside.

"This seal has been destroyed. I'm afraid Guo Yuanzhen will become suspicious."

Lou Yunchun glanced at the letter and showed a look of surprise.

Zhao Xiu asked, "What's wrong?"

"Even if you don't open it, he won't believe you."

Lou Yunchun handed him the letter. Zhao Xiu took it and looked at it, only to find that the letter was blank, without a single word.

"This..." Zhao Xiu's heart suddenly turned cold.

Then he realized that if Prince Ying really didn't trust him, then why did he let him go to Beiting? He thought about the jade tiger again and remembered that Lou Yunchun had said that the jade tiger was more important than he thought.

I see!

"This fish letter is not a secret letter, the jade tiger is!" Then he couldn't help but break out in a cold sweat.

Just imagine, when Guo Yuanzhen saw this blank secret letter, he would definitely know that Prince Ying did not trust him. What would be the outcome of a secret envoy who was not trusted?

Only death.

Prince Ying had no intention of saving his own life!

Fortunately, this matter was discovered because the jade tiger was stolen, otherwise he would not have been able to return alive.

After a long while, he suppressed the chill in his heart and asked Lou Yunchun, "What should we do next?"

"First, find the Tibetans' traces, retrieve the Jade Tiger, and then see what's going on."

"But the Tibetans have disappeared without a trace. How can we find them?"

Lou Yunchun pondered for a moment, then pulled out the map drawn by Mo Ming. Based on the directions indicated on the map, he said, "Combining the clues provided by the shopkeeper and the current situation, the Tubo caravan's destination is very likely the Four Towns of Anxi. As can be seen from the map, there are two major routes to the Four Towns of Anxi: the Liangzhou North Road and the Longyou Road, which is also the route your caravan often takes."

"Are you planning to let me chase him along the Longyou Road?"

"Yes. I must first go to Liangzhou to discuss countermeasures with the Hexi Jiedushi. If you find Yuhu, come to Liangzhou to meet me."

Zhao Xiu happened to be driving a caravan, so it was most appropriate for him to go find the Tubo merchants. Moreover, Yu Hu was lost due to his negligence, so he was responsible for finding it back.

And now he has boarded Lou Yunchun's pirate ship. If he doesn't help him accomplish this, then he will probably never live a peaceful life in this life.

"Okay. I'll leave right away."

Lou Yunchun assessed his complexion and said, "Didn't the doctor ask you to come for another acupuncture treatment tomorrow? You can leave tomorrow."
