Guard Zhu pushed him to the ground.
Seeing that the other man was about to run away, Manager Wang stopped him and slapped him hard. Liang Mo also came forward to help and kicked him hard in the knee. He knelt on the ground and couldn't get up.
Guard Zhu grabbed the gangster's neck and asked, "What are you doing here?"
"I'm telling you, if you hit someone while I'm passing by, I'll sue you!"
"Sue," Guard Zhu said with a smile, "Let's go to the government office and check to see who has the longest criminal record." Then he grabbed his head and slammed it against the ground, asking, "I'm asking you, what are you doing here?"
“Just passing by, just passing by!”
"Passing by?" Guard Zhu grabbed his head and hit it again.
"Lu..." Feeling his scalp being pulled tight again, the gangster immediately changed the subject and said, "I'm here to buy books!"
With a bang, he was hit and his vision went black. Guard Zhu looked at the other person and asked, "He came to buy books, what about you?"
Seeing his accomplice's head bleeding, the man said tremblingly, "He's... here to cause trouble."
"Who asked you to come?" Guard Zhu thought for a moment and felt something was wrong. "Just you two weaklings?"
"Yes, it's Manager Wu!" The man didn't dare to say Zhou Huai's name, so he revealed Manager Wu.
Manager Wu almost cursed, and without paying any attention to Zhou Huai, who was courting death, he ran away. Zhou Huai watched him slip away, cursed inwardly, and became more and more anxious. Where did these people go? Why didn't they even smoke?
Yinyin was boiling water in the kitchen when she heard some noise outside. She was about to cover the fire and go out to check when she heard Uncle Jackal barking. She walked out of the kitchen door and saw Uncle Jackal, chained, barking at the back wall.
She hurried over and shouted, "Who's outside?"
There was a rustling sound outside, and she was frightened, so she untied her uncle Jackal, then opened the corner door and leaned out to look.
As soon as the corner door opened a crack, Uncle Jackal pushed his body up and rushed out quickly, followed by a burst of howling.
She ran to the back wall and took a look, only to see Uncle Jackal biting several thieves. She hurriedly shouted to Liang Mo and Guard Zhu, "Thieves! Thieves!"
Upon hearing the sound, Guard Zhu and Liang Mo rushed over.
One of the gangsters, seeing that he had frightened the people and was being harassed by the dog, hurriedly said to his accomplice, "Pour kerosene and light the fire."
As he spoke, he opened the oil barrel in his hand, pointed it at Uncle Jackal, and poured it over him. Uncle Jackal didn't dodge and was splashed half over. The man took out a fire starter, blew twice, and was about to throw it at the oil, saying to Uncle Jackal viciously: "You damn dog! I can't burn you to death!"
After being splashed with oil, Uncle Jackal rushed forward even more ferociously and bit the man's arm.
The man loosened his grip and the fire starter fell to the ground, instantly igniting the kerosene on the ground.
"Ah!" Yin Yin couldn't help but scream, "The fire is breaking! The fire is breaking!"
As he said this, he turned around twice and hurried into the yard to fetch water.
The flames also ignited the jackal uncle, but the jackal uncle did not let go. The man let out a terrifying cry and was then engulfed by the flames. Seeing this, his accomplices behind him screamed and ran away.
When everyone heard that the fire was happening, they rushed over to put it out.
Yinyin picked up the water and poured it on Uncle Jackal, crying as she did so, "Uncle Jackal, please let me go! Uncle Jackal!"
Uncle Jackal obeyed and let go, then crawled into the gap in the ditch, rolled twice and then stopped moving.
The fire grew bigger and burned along the wall to the donkey shed. The ashes fell on the donkey's back, scaring it so much that it rushed out of the shed.
Guard Zhu came over, took the wooden bucket from Yin Yin's hand, and fetched water from the water tank in the yard to put out the fire. Liang Mo quickly untied the donkey from the donkey shed, and then went to find a bucket to fetch water.
Manager Wang was holding the man in his hand, but he was very anxious. He simply punched each of the two men and knocked them unconscious. Then he rushed into his yard, picked up a large bucket of water and ran to the backyard of the bookstore.
When Xiao Wang heard the sound of a water leak, he quickly found a wooden basin, filled it with water, and followed his father to the bookstore.
"Be careful! Be careful!" Qin chased out with Mai Mai in her arms, and warned loudly.
Not only Shopkeeper Wang, but the neighbors also rushed to fetch water from their homes to help put out the fire. With a basin, a bucket, a hand, a foot, they put out the fire quickly.
Yinyin struggled to move the stone slabs of the culvert and reached out to carry Uncle Jackal out, but when she saw his charred fur, she dared not move. She could only cry out to Liang Mo, "Liang Mo, Liang Mo, come and see Uncle Jackal."
Liang Mo quickly ran over, jumped into the ditch, and carefully carried Uncle Jackal out.
The fur on Uncle Jackal's back was burnt black, and after rolling twice in the ditch, it was covered in mud. Liang Mo quickly said to Yin Yin, "Yin Yin, go get some water and a clean handkerchief."
"Okay, okay." Yin Yin's hands and feet were weak, but she still quickly picked up a wooden basin, poured water and took a towel.
"There's another person here." Several neighbors carried out the men who had lit the fire. Although the fire on him was out, he was horribly burned. Someone checked his breath and said hurriedly, "He's still breathing. Take him to the doctor!"
After saying that, he found a chair and carried the person to Qianjinfang.
Shopkeeper Wang and Guard Zhu inspected the fire. After all the sparks were extinguished, Shopkeeper Wang rode his donkey to the government office to report to the authorities and informed Xu Jiang along the way.
But Zhou Huai ran away when he saw that the fire had not started.
County government prison cell.
Xu Si opened his eyes, but he felt darkness in front of his eyes and his head was buzzing. He groped to get up from the ground, but found that he was the only one in the cell.
"Xu Dang, Xu Twelve!"
He called out twice, but no one answered, "Are they really gone?"
"Someone wants to redeem his sentence but he still refuses to leave. Are you staying here to wait for someone to dig a ditch?" The jailer led a man over slowly.
"These two bastards! They forgot who brought them to the capital." Xu Si couldn't help but curse, "How dare they collude with that bastard to plot against me? When I get out, I'll beat them to death!"
