Chapter 186 One Hundred and Eighty-Six Slashes

Although Guards Zhu and Xue were drunk, they were still clear-headed. Seeing Liang Mo was unconscious, Guard Zhu took the initiative to say, "I'll take him back and help him cool down."

"Alright." Xu Jiang had originally thought of letting Liang Mo stay at the bookshop for a night if no one was there to see him off. With Zhu and Xue around, nothing would go wrong, though it would be a bit crowded. Now that Guard Zhu was willing to see him off was even better; it would also save Liang Mo's family from worrying.

Xu Jiang went to lead the donkey, Yin Yin helped Liang Mo pack his things, and Guards Xue and Zhu helped Liang Mo out.

"The boy is quite heavy."

Guard Zhu was shaken by Liang Mo's pressure and accidentally pulled Hu Xu to the side. Seeing that Hu Xu was about to hit his head on the table again, Song Qiao stepped forward and put his hand on his forehead.

Hu Xu opened his eyes in a daze, looked up and stared at the person in front of him in a daze. When he met his eyes, Song Qiao quickly withdrew his hand.

"Song Qiao?"

"Yeah." Song Qiao felt her palms getting hot. She rubbed her hands on her dress and asked uncomfortably, "Do you... want a cup of tea to sober up?"

Her clear voice was like the sound of a spring flowing through rocks, which made Hu Xu a little dazed. After a while, he nodded and said slowly, "Okay, thank you for your help." Then he closed his eyes again.

Song Qiao secretly breathed a sigh of relief and went to pour him some tea. After pouring the tea, he saw that he was about to fall onto the table again, so he had to go forward and support him again.

The first time is new, the second time is familiar, and this time she was much calmer.

"The tea is here, drink it." She placed the tea in front of Hu Xu, but Hu Xu reached out to scoop it up, but after several attempts he couldn't even touch the edge of the tea bowl.

Song Qiao remained silent.

She sighed softly, leaned forward, picked up the bowl and put it into Hu Xu's hand. Hu Xu's hands were shaking, and most of the tea had spilled before his mouth even touched the bowl. Seeing that he was about to feed the rest onto his clothes, Song Qiao had no choice but to hold his hand again and feed the tea to his mouth.

After finishing his tea, Hu Xu buried his face in the tea bowl again. Song Qiao stared at him for a long moment, then chuckled softly, collected the tea bowl, and laid him down on the table, letting him sleep on his stomach.

After seeing Liang Mo off, Xu Jiang turned around and was about to enter the inn. Seeing the scene inside, she stopped in her tracks and pulled Yin Yin, who was walking in with her head covered, aside, and asked her to go to the backyard to prepare food for Uncle Chai and Yue Nu.

Yinyin went obediently.

Xu Jiang saw Song Qiao wiping the table and picking up the dishes, then turning around to take the dishes to the kitchen to wash, so she wanted to call her back and ask her to leave it to herself. However, she didn't expect to see Hu Xu, who was originally lying on the table, suddenly raise his head and stare at Song Qiao's departing back, stunned.

He seemed to come back to his senses only after Song Qiao disappeared through the small door. Xu Jiang quietly moved his feet and slipped into the backyard through the corner door.
