The body shapes and appearances recorded are very similar.
"You are quite prepared."
"Sure, sure."
There was originally a Hu man in their caravan. Zhao Xiu thought that the Hu man was restless and conspicuous, so he eliminated him before setting off. He never expected that he would pick up someone who was even more restless.
It really is a matter of time and fate.
A Yan Lianshan pointed at Zhao Xiu and asked, "What about him? Isn't he a wanted criminal?"
Zhao Xiu rolled his eyes. "Lou Yunchun must have lost his mind, that's why he issued a wanted notice for me in Anxi."
"What's the meaning?"
"There's a saying in the Central Plains: 'Stirring up the grass will startle the snake.'" Seeing that Ayan Lianshan didn't understand, Zhao Xiu explained, "Lou Yunchun came to the northwest for Guo Yuanzhen. I'm Prince Ying's man. As soon as he saw me, he knew what I was doing. Anxi borders Beiting. If he issues a warrant for my arrest, wouldn't that be telling Guo Yuanzhen I'm here, so he can come find me?"
"Does Guo Yuanzhen recognize you?"
"His deputy recognized him."
"Since you recognize me, why do you still need me to deliver the token for you?"
"Even if he recognizes me, it won't stop him from killing me." Zhao Xiu said with a wry smile, "You keep testing me. Are you planning on going back on your word? Don't forget the oath you swore to your Wolf God?"
"I didn't say I wouldn't go." Ayan Lianshan said bluntly, "I just feel like you're hiding something from me."
Zhao Xiu is too cunning, which makes him feel uneasy.
Zhao Xiu was secretly shocked, but said impatiently: "The current situation is clear. My life and property depend on you. What are you afraid of?"
Ayan Lianshan examined his expression and warned in a low voice: "If you break your promise, I will kill you with my own hands."
Zhao Xiu snorted and laughed, showing a rather nonchalant expression. He then pulled his camel over and said loudly to everyone, "Let's go, let's cross Yangguan Pass."
When the group arrived at Yangguan and were going through customs inspection, the soldier in charge of checking the documents for the pass looked at Ayan Lianshan twice, and Ayan Lianshan couldn't help but tense his back.
The soldier still there just took a quick look, asked about the caravan's destination, and let them go after completing the inspection.
Then everyone went to the Yangguan Duwei Mansion to handle the customs clearance document - "Guanzhao".
The chief clerk in charge of the paperwork was slightly startled after receiving Zhao Xiu's pass. He then looked at the group of people several times and provided "instructions" for them one by one.
After Zhao Xiu and his party received the documents and left the Duwei Mansion, the chief clerk immediately sent someone to report to the Duwei that Zhao Xiu had arrived.
————The unlucky guy is in place————
Lou Yunchun had been in Tingzhou for three days. On the night he entered the city, Guo Yuanzhen made a grand ceremony, hosting a banquet for the envoy all night long, and set up tents in various places in the city to help the people, so that all the people in the city would know that he did not neglect the envoy from the capital.
At the banquet, he and his subordinates tried their best to get Lou Yunchun drunk.
Lou Yunchun is a man of few words when he is sober, and even more silent when he is drunk. Although he has a stern face, he is already in a daze.
Xu Jiang was not here, and the deputy envoys were surrounded by captains and soldiers. Guo Yuanzhen had no idea that he had been drunk since the second bowl. Seeing that he had filled his glass with wine and drank it without changing his expression, he secretly thought that he had met his match.
The two drank for more than ten rounds, and their faces were a little red. Seeing this from a distance, Lao Duan wanted to come over to rescue Lou Yunchun, but he was held down by the captain and the deputy who kept pouring wine into his mouth.
"Grand Protector, our Lord is drunk, please show some mercy."
Upon hearing this, a senior official beside Guo Yuanzhen went to look at Lou Yunchun's expression, but found that apart from the frown on his face, there was nothing unusual about him. He still had that look of contempt on his face.
"Even after more than a dozen rounds with the Grand Protector, the High Envoy shows no signs of being drunk. He certainly doesn't look like he can't handle the alcohol." He waved his hand in front of Lou Yunchun and asked, "High Envoy, are you drunk?"
When Lou Yunchun was drunk in the past, his body was immersed in the scent of Xu Jiang's ink and books, and his ears were filled with her gentle and warm words. But now, he felt a foul odor entering his nose, and someone was chattering in his ears, so he slapped the person in annoyance.
"Get out of here, you stinking thing."
The chief clerk's expression froze, and he held his breath and apologized.
Seeing Lou Yunchun so arrogant and conceited, Guo Yuanzhen's anger rose with the alcohol, but he still retained some rationality. He warned him not to beat him to death for the time being, and asked people to bring a few more jars of wine, determined to get Lou Yunchun drunk and teach him a lesson.
But Lou Yunchun paid no attention to him. He drank whatever he was given. When he was full, he vomited and sat back down. He was given more to drink. Guo Yuanzhen himself vomited twice, and finally collapsed, unable to hold on. But Lou Yunchun just sat there straight.
Late in the night, Old Duan emerged from the crowd, dazed and disoriented. Seeing Lou Yunchun still sitting there, he hurried over and asked tremblingly, "Sir, are you all right?"
Lou Yunchun hummed, then dove headfirst into the wine bowl in front of him.
Two days later, Lou Yunchun woke up. He was still dizzy, his head felt like it had been crushed by a rock, and the pain was so severe that he could see double. He struggled to get out of bed, but his internal organs were churning. He saw a fish lying nearby, so he quickly grabbed it and vomited violently, but all he vomited was a few mouthfuls of sour water.
I guess he vomited many times.
The last time I got this drunk was because I drank the potato wine given by Xu Jiang.
He held the spitting fish in his arms, not daring to let go. Old Duan came in with tea. Seeing that he had woken up, he hurried forward and asked with concern, "Sir, you're awake. Are you okay?"
Seeing the tea on his tray, Lou Yunchun said, "Tea."
Old Duan quickly put down the tray and poured him a cup of tea.
Lou Yunchun picked up the tea, rinsed his mouth, and drank two more cups. Only then did he calm down and his mind gradually became clear.
"What time is it?" he asked, putting down the fish.
"It's almost noon." Seeing Lou Yunchun looking up at him, he added, "You've been drunk for two days. Now it's our third day in Tingzhou."
