The scene is reflected in the water, split into two, making the real and the virtual merge and the truth and illusion difficult to distinguish.
Xu Jiang couldn't help but be intoxicated, "What a great Shuiyun Pond! This trip was worthwhile."
Lou Yunchun reminded: "The Water God is coming."
Xu Jiang immediately opened his eyes wide and stared at the upstream. At this time, cheers rang out from both sides of the river, "Welcome the Water God—"
It was a majestic dragon, riding on water and carrying clouds, coming with the stars and the moon. It swallowed up mountains and rivers, shuttled between reality and illusion, and slowly arrived in front of Xu Jiang.
She looked carefully and found that it was a lantern.
This lantern is exquisitely made and lifelike, especially the dragon's expression, which is majestic without being angry and looks proud of everything in the world, which is particularly vivid.
It is not a whole, but is divided into countless sections, placed on chained boats, and carried by sailors rowing. In the cover of night, it looks like a real dragon from a distance.
But it is more than just a lantern, it is the incarnation of the water god on earth, and the god who eliminates sin and suffering.
This scene deeply shocked Xu Jiang, who couldn't help but sigh, "The capital city is indeed the capital city."
"You'll get used to it, and it won't be strange anymore."
Xu Jiang was speechless and stared at him in silence, thinking: This guy is really good at spoiling the mood.
As the water god went away, the tourists on the river bank dispersed. The night wind was cold, and Xu Jiang was afraid that if it continued to blow, she would catch a cold, so she suggested turning back.
Lou Yunchun untied the horse and helped her up without waiting for her to react, "Hold on tight."
She came back to her senses, "What about you?"
"I'll lead the horse."
“But it’s a long way to walk back.”
“Not far.”
Did he not want her to blow the wind anymore? She thanked him and said, "Then I'll trouble you, sir."
Lou Yunchun led the horse and joined the crowd. The two of them were not in a hurry like when they came. They strolled slowly, which gave Xu Jiang some leisure time to appreciate the scenery on both sides of the street.
"Do you want to go to the temple fair?" Lou Yunchun suddenly asked.
Xu Jiang was slightly startled, then happily said, "Yes." The Lower Lantern Festival temple fair was held in Shoukangfang. Shoukangfang was already prosperous, and it was sure to be even more lively tonight.
Lou Yunchun curved his eyes and quickened his pace.
The two returned to the teahouse. Lou Yunchun helped Xu Jiang down and asked her to wait there, then took the horse away.
Xu Jiang stared at his back, bewildered. How had things suddenly developed like this? They'd participated in sacrifices together, gone to see the water god together, and were now going to the temple fair together. Was she and he already so familiar with each other?
But she didn't even know his name.
"My wife?"
Xu Jiang turned around and saw that it was the tea waiter from the tea shop.
"Do you think the Water God has returned?"
"kindness."
The tea attendant gave her an apologetic smile before asking quietly, "Excuse me, what is your relationship with Lou Yunchun?"
"Lou Yunchun?" Why does it sound so familiar?
"That's the one who just led the horse..." The tea attendant smacked his lips and continued, "That gentleman."
"You said his name is Lou Yunchun?"
"Yes, the current Dali Temple Shaoqing, Lou Yunchun, investigated a case and arrested people last month, and also smashed our shop."
Oh my god, no wonder she felt familiar, wasn't this the young master of the Lou Jing family? When he borrowed the book, he left the address as Dali Temple, and she said it was a coincidence. But isn't it a coincidence? The young master of the Lou family and Zhaoyue are clearly the same person.
She slapped her head and cursed herself for being so stupid. Hadn't she seen the word "Zhao Yue" in Lou Jing's painting "Pine and Crane Prolonging Life"?
The tea attendant asked curiously, "Why? The young lady has already seen the water god with him, but you still don't know his name?"
Why does this tea waiter speak so ambiguously?
Xu Jiang explained, "I just happened to meet him."
"Coincidence?" The tea attendant was clearly unconvinced. "This gentleman is used to being alone, and has never seen the Water God with anyone else."
"How did you find out?"
"Look at that look of his..." Tea attendant Xuelou Yunchun put on a cold expression, "That look would scare even men, not to mention girls. Who would dare to look at the Water God with him?"
Xu Jiang sneered, remembering how she had been so frightened by Lou Yunchun's imposing presence when she first met him that she wanted to retreat. However, the kidnapping case had changed her opinion of him, and after spending time with him, she gradually realized that he wasn't cold and insensitive, just not good at speaking.
"Madam, you can still laugh? Aren't you afraid of him?"
"What are you afraid of?" Lou Yunchun's voice suddenly rang out, startling both of them.
"Nothing." The tea waiter threw down a sentence and slipped away quickly, leaving Xu Jiang alone in embarrassment.
"I'm back."
"kindness."
Xu Jiang tried to hold back, but couldn't help but ask, "Lou Yunchun?"
Lou Yunchun was stunned and nodded.
"Mr. Lou Jing's son?"
Lou Yunchun nodded again.
"Why didn't you say so earlier?"
"Because you didn't ask." Lou Yunchun added, "I left a note and the address of the Dali Temple, thinking you knew it."
Where would she know?
"Are you angry?" A barely perceptible nervousness flashed across Lou Yunchun's eyes.
Xu Jiang shook her head and said that she was not angry, but just a little surprised.
Suddenly, she remembered something Lou Jing had mentioned and couldn't help but laugh out loud, "You were the one who drank all the potato wine I sent you in one gulp and got drunk all day and all night?"
Lou Yunchun's expression stiffened slightly, and he pursed his lips and remained silent.
No wonder he was so cautious when drinking wine and tea in the bookstore later. The more Xu Jiang thought about it, the more he laughed, and the more he laughed, the more he couldn't stop.
Seeing his dull look, Xu Jiang suppressed her smile and said, "It's my fault for not reminding you not to drink too much." Then she waved her hand and said, "I won't laugh anymore. Let's go to the temple fair."
"Let's go."
The two walked away side by side. The tea attendant came out of the shop and murmured, "Looking at it this way, they are a good match."
