Chapter 287: Once Chased

"Ouch! My ancestors!" He was so frightened that he pushed the person away and jumped off the bed. However, in his excitement, he forgot that the room was low and bumped into the roof. "Ouch!"

He covered his forehead and sat on the ground in a daze. It took him a while to come to his senses and reach out to open the door.

"Waiter!" He leaned outside and shouted a few times, but there was no waiter and no one answered.

Maybe I didn't hear it.

Just as she was about to shout again, she was shocked by the sudden obscene noises from the next room, and then she quickly closed the door again.

But closing the door cannot block out the sound.

Zeng Zhui crawled around on the ground, then groped for the bookcase, opened it in a hurry, pulled out a handkerchief from inside, tore it into two pieces and used them to plug his ears.

The sound finally became quieter.

But although the voice was small, the person was still there.

Zeng Zhui took a look at the bed with the faint light coming through the crack in the door. It was dim and he couldn't tell whether it was a man or a woman.

He groped his way to a low table nearby, found a still warm fire stick, and blew it to light the lamp.

The room was finally bright.

Zeng Zhui held the oil lamp and approached the bed, but saw that the person lying on the bed was not a woman, but a man, and he couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.

Fortunately, she is not the prostitute next door.

But then he felt even more strange. Why would a man run into his house out of the blue?

Zeng Zhui held the lamp closer and took a good look at the man. He saw that he was very handsome and charming. His mind was spinning. Could it be...

He had vaguely heard that there was a good guy named Nan Feng in the capital, but he didn't expect that someone would come to his door so blatantly. Thinking about how he had slept with him for most of the night, Zeng Zhui got goosebumps all over his body.

"Hey, wake up!" He picked up the pillow and hit the man.

The man wiped his mouth and turned over, but did not wake up.

As soon as he moved, Zeng Zhui smelled the stench of alcohol.

"Drunkard, wake up!" Zeng Zhui continued hitting the man with a pillow and finally woke him up.

The man squinted his eyes due to the light in Zeng Zhui's hand and asked softly, "Who are you?"

"Strange, you came into my room and asked me who I was? I haven't even asked you who you are yet." Zeng Zhui hit him with the pillow again, "Tell me who you are, or I'll treat you as a thief and report you to the authorities."

When he heard the word "government", the man snorted and laughed twice.

The couple next door also stopped making love and fell silent.

"Jiang Gu."

"What?"

"I'm Jiang Gu." Jiang Gu grabbed the pillow that was leaning against his body and put it under his head. He looked around and asked Zeng, "Why am I here?"

Zeng Zhui was wondering why the name Jiang Gu sounded so familiar when he heard his question and rolled his eyes in annoyance.

"How should I know? I was sleeping soundly here, and you suddenly appeared out of nowhere. I was almost scared to death by you."

Is the bed in this restaurant so evil? And it's for adults?

Jiang Gu pinched his forehead and tried to piece together the whole story from his alcohol-soaked brain. "I must have been drunk and got the wrong door. I didn't mean to trespass. I'm sorry."

Did he recognize the wrong door? Zeng Zhui cursed himself for being careless and forgetting to bolt the door, which attracted the drunkard.

Fortunately, he was a drunkard. If he was a bad guy who robbed us of our money and raped us, it would have been terrible.

"Forget it, since you strayed in by mistake, I won't pursue the matter. You can go now."

Jiang Gu sat up, then swayed, and was about to fall down again. Zeng caught up with him and picked him up, saying helplessly: "Where is your room? I'll take you there."

"It should be next door. Thank you."

"Which next door? Left or right?" Zeng Zhui had just finished speaking when he heard noises coming from the room on the left. He said with a dull face, "It seems to be the right."

He put down the lamp, then helped Jiang Gu out and went to the guest room inside.

He walked to the door, reached out and pushed it open.

He pushed Jiang Gu in, closed the door for him, and warned him, "Don't run around anymore, it's scary."

When he returned to his own door, he heard the sound of "Hmmmm" and "Ahhh" still going on in the other room. Zeng Zhui's forehead was throbbing with veins. He could no longer bear it and roared, "You guys should keep quiet too! You're disturbing my sweet dreams!"

He was answered by a louder commotion.

He couldn't help but grit his teeth, then went back to the house, closed the door, opened the box, took out a copy of "Laozi Jijie", turned to the "Tao Te Ching", sat down under the lamp, and recited aloud.

"The Tao that can be spoken of is not the eternal Tao... Therefore, in the constant absence, I observe its wonders; in the constant presence, I desire to observe its boundaries..."

The surroundings fell into silence. Not long after, the sound of a door opening was heard from next door. Light footsteps drifted away, leaving behind a few melodious curses.

Zeng Zhui pulled off the handkerchief, pricked up his ears and listened for a while, smiled triumphantly, and then continued to recite.

He was so absorbed in reading that he ignored all other matters and continued reading until dawn, even though the people next door were scratching the wall and banging the table.

Jiang Gu lay in bed, listening to the sound of reading from next door, and couldn't help but echo softly, "Five colors make people blind, five sounds make people deaf..." Then he laughed at himself and muttered, "It's a pity that I am already blind and deaf."

After dawn, the neighbor couldn't wait to check out.

Zeng Zhui lay down to catch up on his sleep, and only got up to look for something to eat when his stomach rumbled.

He went to the lobby and asked the waiter for two bowls of mutton soup noodles and two baked buns, which he ate voraciously.

"Give me a bowl of mutton soup noodles too."

Someone sat down opposite him. He looked up and saw that it was the drunk from last night. What was his name?

"Jiang Gu?"

"Thank you for taking me in last night. I'm curious about your name."

"Zeng Zhui." Zeng Zhui looked at him. When this man was sober, he looked quite cultured.

Jiang Gu bowed to him, "Brother Zeng."
