Chapter 300 Little Dumpling · Extra · End

Xu Jiang was awakened by the light, and also by someone. When she opened her eyes, everything she saw seemed to be through a cloud of gauze.

She reached out and touched it, and it was indeed a cloud of gauze covering her head.

"A Jiang, are you awake?" A voice sounded beside my ear. It was Lou Yunchun.

"Hmm." She wanted to uncover it, but was stopped by a voice from above her head.

"Don't lift it, or you'll catch a cold." Lou Yunchun rested his chin against her forehead.

Xu Jiang touched it and felt the stubble, which was a bit prickly, then she climbed onto his shoulders.

When her five senses returned, she realized that she was actually in his arms, with two maids beside her holding umbrellas to block the wind.

"Where are we going?" As soon as she opened her mouth, she felt as if a few bones had been pulled out, and her voice was soft.

Lou Yunchun tightened his arms slightly, and walked slowly and steadily, "Let's go back to the house."

The delivery room was not a living room, but a wing room on the west side of the courtyard, separated from the main house by a corridor.

"Where's the child?" Xu Jiang buried her head in his neck to keep warm.

Lou Yunchun quickened his pace, "She's feeding in the warm room, and will be back soon."

Xu Jiang didn't know what her daughter looked like, so she asked, "Is she pretty?"

Lou Yunchun was silent for a moment, then praised, "It looks good."

Xu Jiang couldn't help but feel a little excited.

In a blink of an eye, the two arrived at the main house, where charcoal and mugwort were burning, and the air was warm.

Lou Yunchun carefully placed Xu Jiang on the bed, then uncovered her veil, removed her cloak and outer skirt, and tucked her into the quilt.

The quilt was also warm. Xu Jiang stretched her legs and found several foot buddies stuffed inside.

Lou Yunchun asked a maid to go to the warm room to see if the little guy had finished feeding, and to bring him over after he had finished feeding. The maid then left.

As soon as the maid left, Yin Yin came in with a bowl of porridge and a few side dishes. Seeing Xu Jiang was awake, she hurried forward and said, "Sister Xu, you're awake." Without waiting for Xu Jiang to reply, she asked, "Are you hungry? This is the milk porridge the kitchen just made. It's best to eat it while it's hot. It will taste fishy if it gets cold."

Milk porridge is warm and nourishing, and is easy to digest, making it the most suitable for replenishing postpartum deficiency.

Xu Jiang was feeling weak, so she nodded and said, "Eat."

Yin Yin smiled and said, "I'll feed my sister."

A hand reached out and snatched the bowl from her hand. "Let me do it. Go get the witch doctor and tell him that Ajahn has woken up."

Yinyin didn't want to argue with her young master, so she had to stand up and give up her seat, then reluctantly went to the medicine house to invite Wu Zhi.

The milk porridge was just right for eating, and Lou Yunchun fed him one spoonful at a time.

Xu Jiang looked at him while he ate. He had dark circles under his eyes, a pale yellow complexion, and a haggard look. "Did you not sleep all night?"

"Not just one night." Lou Yunchun paused for a moment before continuing to feed her. "You slept for one day and two nights."

"So long?" Xu Jiang was startled, then asked, "You've been guarding me all this time?"

Lou Yunchun nodded, "I can't leave, and I can't sleep."

Xu Jiang sighed and raised her hand to touch his face, "I'm sorry to have made you worry."

This touch made Lou Yunchun's eyes red.

"Ouch." This strong man had never looked like this before. Xu Jiang went over, held his face and rubbed it, then kissed him on the forehead.

"Look, I'm fine."

Lou Yunchun hugged her, then let her lean back and continued to feed her porridge in a low voice.

Xu Jiang stared at his rabbit eyes and wanted to laugh, but she held it back for fear that he would get angry.

There was a sound of voices outside, and Mrs. Lou and Liu Mei came into the house holding the child, both with smiles on their faces.

Xu Jiang had just finished her last mouthful of porridge. She pushed Lou Yunchun aside and stretched out her hand to Madam Lou, "Let me see it quickly."

Mrs. Lou came over quickly and carefully moved the swaddling clothes into her arms. "He just had his milk and fell asleep."

Xu Jiang held the small ball in her arms, not daring to use any force.

Mrs. Lou lifted the windshield to reveal a wrinkled, red little face. "Look, how cute."

Xu Jiang stared at her daughter's face, frowning for a long moment before she managed to say, "Well, she's quite cute, like a little monkey."

Liu Mei couldn't help but think of the monkey in Saoxia Villa, and then of Wan Qingmiao. It is said that nephews look like their uncles. She felt that this made sense and laughed out loud.

But she had to consider the little girl's face and said angrily: "Who says a girl looks like a little monkey?"

"Babies usually look like this when they're born. They'll turn fair after a few days of nursing." Madam Lou looked lovingly at her swaddled granddaughter, then glanced at her son beside her and said, "If you want to say resemblance, her eyebrows do look quite like her father."

Lou Yunchun was staring at Xu Jiang and Xiaotuanzi in a daze, but when he heard the name "Daddy", his heart, which had been torn apart by Xu Jiang's childbirth, slowly came together again.

Xu Jiang looked at the little girl, then at Lou Yunchun. "Do they look alike? You can't tell even with your eyes closed." Then she reached out and poked her daughter's face. "Lazy Ni'er, wake up quickly and look at your mother and father."

Lou Yunchun couldn't help but come closer, stretched out his finger and touched his daughter's nose, saying to Xu Jiang, "Her nose looks like yours." Then he tapped her chin and said, "The mouth is like yours too."

"Really?" Xu Jiang touched his nose and mouth, then touched his daughter's.

A maid said, "Just now the master said it looked like the mistress, and then he said it looked like him. This tiny person actually has so many faces."

This made everyone laugh.

Xu Jiang rubbed the little girl's brow and said, "They're all fruits grown on the same vine, so they look alike." Then a sudden thought struck him: "Hey, why not just call her Guo'er?"

Liu Mei patted her chest and said, "Fortunately you didn't say you wanted to give it a monkey name."

Everyone laughed again.

The old woman also laughed and said, "Although the name Guo'er is simple and unsophisticated, it is just right to balance out this rich and noble fate, and it will be easier to educate her in the future."
