Chapter 55

"That's true." Xu Jiang agreed.

Seeing that her bowl of soy milk was empty, the woman asked, "Would you like another bowl?"

"That's enough, that's enough." Xu Jiang put down the bowl and said with a smile, "Sister, please make two pieces of tofu for me."

"Okay." The woman pulled out four lush green banana leaves, folding them horizontally and vertically. Then she placed two pieces of white, tender tofu on top. After wrapping them up, she tied them with a rope made of palm leaves and handed them to Xu Jiang, boasting, "My tofu is so tender yet so resistant to falling apart, and has such a strong bean flavor. You can't find another place like it in the capital. Once you've tried it, you'll know."

"It's easy to see. Sister, do you have any tips?"

"It's all about courage and skill. No one else can learn it." He said quite complacently, "I'm glad I came early today. If I had been later, I would have missed it."

"Then I'm lucky." Xu Jiang took the tofu with a smile, paid for it and said goodbye.

"Come again next time." The woman waved at her.

"Okay."

After leaving the tofu stall, Xu Jiang continued to walk inside. Seeing someone selling rabbit meat, he bought another rabbit.

Rabbit meat is tender and delicious whether blanched or stewed with shredded ginger. She licked her lips. It had been a long time since she had tasted it, and she was thinking about it. Today, if she came across it, she would make some shredded ginger rabbit to satisfy her craving.

After buying the rabbit, he went to Kuiwazi's shop.

When Kuiwazi saw her coming, he smiled and said, "It's been a long time since we last met. How are you, my lady?"

Xu Jiang also smiled, "I'm fine, I'm fine, thank you for your concern, brother."

"What do you want to buy today?"

"What fresh produce do you have?"

"Someone brought over two reed ducks and half a basket of shrimp this morning. Would you like to take a look?"

"Look."

After saying this, the two of them squeezed into the alley. Kuiwazi dragged the two reed ducks out. The ducks were fat and fierce, flapping their wings and quacking loudly, looking very proud.

Xu Jiang nodded in satisfaction, "I'll take both." Then he added, "Let's take a look at the shrimps."

Kuiwazi was busy tying up the ducks, so he had no time to spare. He said, "The shrimp are in the tank next to you."

Xu Jiang opened the jar and saw a fish basket inside. When she lifted it up, she saw that there were indeed half a basket of jumping shrimps, all of which were quite big.

"I want these shrimps too."

"Okay." Kuiwazi finally tied up the two ducks and found a sack to dump the shrimps. He casually asked, "You bought so many dishes, are you going to host a party?"

"Well, I just completed a deal, let's celebrate."

"Then I'd like to congratulate my wife." Kui Wazi finished packing the shrimp and said to Xu Jiang, "Is there anything else you need?"

"Weigh two pounds of ginger and one pound of garlic, and choose the tender ginger." Use it to make shredded ginger rabbit.

Kui Wazi went to the stall and took out a sack, saying with a smile, "What a coincidence, I have half a bag of young ginger. I picked it up when I went to the mountains to visit my aunt a few days ago. I sold it these past two days and this is all I have left."

"Are there any more in the mountains at this time of year?"

"People in the mountains have cellars. They dig in October and store food there, which can last all winter."

No wonder.

Kuiwazi weighed the ginger and found it was more than two pounds. Xu Jiang simply took it all and added some spices and seasonings to the bill.

After paying the bill, Kuiwazi took out half a bag of bright red hawthorn fruits and added them to the bill, saying with a smile, "Just consider it a gift to congratulate my wife."

Xu Jiang refused in vain and had to accept it.

The sugar balls made from hawthorn fruit and rock honey are sweet and sour and delicious. I believe that little girl Lin Hongchu will love them.

Someone should also love to eat.
