Chapter 94 Ninety-four Slashes

Liang Mo had just finished peeling off the last piece of seal paper when he heard Xu Jiang calling him, so he washed his hands and went into the shop.

"What kind of food did the boss make? It smells so good!"

"Duck Prophet."

"What?"

Xu Jiang asked him to sit down, handed him his bowl of soup, and said with a smile, "Duck knows firsthand."

Liang Mo stared at the duck legs and wings in the bowl, and suddenly realized.

"The ducks know first when the river water warms in spring. That's how it is."

"Try it."

The two sat opposite each other and drank soup. Liang Mo couldn't help but put down the spoon after just one sip, and started drinking directly from the bowl of soup.

Xu Jiang drank while advising, "Slow down, there's still some in the pot, be careful not to burn yourself."

She stewed two jars in total, one of which she would send to Nanshan Academy later, and the other one she would keep for herself.

Today, there's something going on at the Dali Temple, and tomorrow, Lou Yunchun has to attend a banquet at the Mu Mansion, so she won't be around for the next two days. A jar of soup like this, shared between her and Liang Mo, is definitely enough.

After finishing his soup, Liang Mo began to nibble on the duck leg. It was tender and boneless, yet not too dry or bland. Instead, it was filled with the freshness of the green snails and the sweetness of the golden thread vine, giving it a delicious flavor.

Liang Mo was hungry after working for half a day, and the duck soup was so delicious that he couldn't help himself and drank three bowls in a row.

After drinking for a while, he felt a little embarrassed and put down his bowl and chopsticks and said, "I'm full. Thank you for the hospitality."

Xu Jiang smiled and said, "Being able to eat is a blessing. Only when you are full can you have the strength to do things. Don't be restrained."

After drinking the soup, Xu Jiang saw that it was getting late, so she let Liang Mo go back.

Liang Mo did his job in an orderly manner. He put away the utensils in the backyard one by one, then said goodbye to Xu Jiang and ran away.

After drinking three bowls of soup, he felt full of energy.

After Liang Mo left, Xu Jiang also locked the door, tied up the remaining Duck Prophet, including the jar and soup, and hung it on the donkey, then rode it to Daixianfang.

On the way, they met Uncle Cao who was going to pick up Lu Zhen from school, and the two happened to be traveling together.

Xu Jiang asked, "Lu Zhen has officially started school now. Is he getting used to it?"

"It's a habit." Uncle Cao smiled brightly when talking about his grandson. "During the time I spent in the private school years ago, I became familiar with my classmates. Now that I'm officially enrolled, everything is no different from before."

"Homework?"

"I've been working even harder. I get up before dawn to recite my lessons and even sleep with my book in my arms. Even when I'm home on weekends, I keep calling you 'teacher' all the time, which really annoys Aunt Cao."

Xu Jiang couldn't help but burst out laughing when she heard this.

While chatting and laughing, the two of them arrived at the private school.

It was just time for school to be dismissed. As soon as Xu Jiang and Cao Shu landed, a short figure rushed out from a group of students in uniform, bumped into Xu Jiang's legs, and knocked himself down on his butt.

Xu Jiang quickly helped Rang up, brushed the dirt off his body, and said with a smile, "Where did this stupid rabbit come from?"

Lu Zhen felt a little embarrassed, and bowed to Xu Jiang and said, "Hello, sister." Then he walked to Uncle Cao and took his hand.

Uncle Cao patted his head and then said to Xu Jiang, "He's waiting for dinner at home, so we'll leave first."

Xu Jiang nodded, "Go quickly, don't keep Aunt Cao and sister-in-law waiting." Then she pinched Lu Zhen's face and said with a smile, "I heard from your grandfather that you get up early and go to bed late every day. If you don't sleep well, you won't grow tall."

Lu Zhen blushed, "I'll go to bed early tonight."

Xu Jiang narrowed his eyes and smiled, and couldn't help but touch his head again, "Go."

After bidding farewell to the grandfather and grandson, Xu Jiang tied up the donkey, untied the jar, and went out to the backyard.

"Little hoe, the delicious food is here, why don't you come out and eat it?"
