Chapter 25 Twenty-five Cuts

After learning that he was Lou Yunchun, Xu Jiang couldn't help but think of some clues.

"Did you ask me to pick the persimmons?"

"kindness."

"Did you send the pears too?"

"kindness."

"You said you came here to avoid the snow, but did you actually come here on purpose?"

“…”

Xu Jiang was about to laugh again, but seeing that he was getting a little angry, she quickly suppressed her smile. The tea waiter had said he was cold, but she felt that after getting to know him, her emotions were easy to discern, and he was easy to coax.

She thought of the persimmon cake, and after going around in circles, it would definitely end up in his hands.

What a blessing.

"How is Mr. Lou these days?"

"very good."

"I came to deliver a festival gift today, but I saw that your family was busy with the sacrifice, so I didn't dare to disturb you."

"Have you been here today?" Lou Yunchun frowned. Why didn't the servant inform him?

"They came in a hurry and left in a hurry." Xu Jiang saw someone selling sugar water in front of her and asked, "Would you like some sugar water?"

Lou Yunchun licked his lips and said, "Drink."

The two walked to the stall selling sweet soup, ordered two bowls of sweet soup, and drank them while standing.

"Is it made with pears and loquat leaves?" Xu Jiang asked the stall owner.

"Ma'am, did you find out after drinking it?" The stall owner said with a smile, "It's cold in winter, and coughs are common. Drinking this will moisten your lungs."

Xu Jiang praised it as delicious, then looked at Lou Yunchun's expression and asked, "Are you used to it?"

Lou Yunchun put down the bowl, and drank up all the sugar water.

It seems that he is used to drinking it.

Xu Jiang asked tentatively, "Another bowl?"

He nodded, "Another bowl."

The stall owner quickly gave him another bowl.

Xu Jiang smiled quietly and drank his bowl slowly.

The money was given by Xu Jiang. It was not because Lou Yunchun was stingy, but because he only had silver on him and it was difficult for the stall owner to make up the difference, so Xu Jiang paid for it.

Lou Yunchun was depressed.

"Just a few cents." Xu Jiang thought to herself, I've eaten more than I should have, so why would I need these two bowls of sugar water?

Seeing someone making clay sculptures up ahead, he asked, "Want to see some clay sculptures?"

Lou Yunchun nodded, "Let's go."

The two of them gathered around to look at the clay sculpture. The clay sculpture master held a piece of yellow clay in his hand and with a few strokes, he carved out a vivid monkey.

It attracted a crowd of cheers.

Someone asked, "Master, can you carve a human figure?"

The master nodded and asked, "Who are you carving?"

The man pointed at himself and said, "Just carve me."

The clay sculpture master stared at the man for a while, then kneaded a ball of clay and, in a few strokes, he took shape. He then used a knife to carve out the clothes and the expression. In about a cup of tea, he had a clay figure that looked quite like the man who had just spoken.

The man marveled at the clay figurine and asked, "How much is it? I'll buy it."

"Fifteen articles."

The man paid the money readily and walked away happily holding the clay figure.

Xu Jiang thought for a moment and asked, "Master, can you carve anything?"

The master nodded and asked, "What do you want to carve, madam?"

"Then let's carve a bunch of persimmons."

"good."

The master broke off a piece of clay, rolled it into a ball, scraped off the excess clay with a knife, smoothed the surface, cut out the branches and leaves, drew the outline of the persimmon, and then began to carve it carefully.

Soon, a bunch of cute persimmons was ready.

"Ten cents."

Lou Yunchun was about to take out the money when Xu Jiang held him back. "It's hard for the stall owner to make up for it if you take the money. Besides, I wanted to buy it, so why would you give me money?" Seeing him frown, he thought for a moment and said, "You still have one or two taels of silver left with me. If you really want to give it to me, just deduct it from it."

Only then did Lou Yunchun put down his hand that was reaching for his wallet.

Xu Jiang paid the money, carefully took the bunch of persimmons, admired them, and then held them in front of Lou Yunchun.

Lou Yunchun looked at her in confusion.

Xu Jiang smiled and said, "This is for you."

"Send it to me?"

Xu Jiang nodded and said, "I give it to you. May everything go well for you."

Lou Yunchun felt as if his chest was suddenly hit and stared at her in a daze.

The clay sculpture master lowered his eyelids, glanced at the two of them, and thought to himself: "The young lady is incredible, she is so good at coaxing people, how did the young man get away? Look, isn't he stunned?"
