Folding the Moon
Bamboo / 2021.10.06
The night is already deep in sleep, and even thunder cannot wake me up.
Under the sluggish wind and rain, Nanwu Airport was as peaceful as a mountain, with bright lights shining brightly. It was like a huge box, containing the daytime after work.
It was just past two in the morning, but the flow of people did not decrease.
Passengers were coming and going, but Yunli stayed alone, looking at his phone from time to time.
This is Yunli’s second visit to Nanwu.
The last time she came was in the early spring of this year. She came to Nanwu University of Technology for the postgraduate reexamination and returned after a few days. The main reason for this time was the invitation from EAW Virtual Reality Science and Technology City.
EAW is the first VR experience center launched by Yousheng Technology, and its opening time is scheduled for the end of next month.
We had a three-day trial operation some time ago, but the results were not ideal, so we invited several bloggers and video self-media to visit the store and experience it, in order to do preheating publicity for the official opening.
Yunli is one of them.
Through email, Yunli added Miss He who would take over from her.
The air tickets, meals and lodging were all covered by the organizer, and Ms. He also said that they would arrange to pick her up after she landed.
Unexpectedly, due to changeable weather conditions, Yunli flight was delayed for three hours.
After learning her new landing time, Ms. He said that they would arrange someone to pick her up. After getting off the plane, Yunli asked again. The other party claimed that the driver had already left and asked her to wait patiently.
But there has been no sign of him since then, and Miss He has not responded to any messages.
Three more minutes and Yunli would have waited exactly one hour.
Yunli leaned on the suitcase with his legs bent, typing a message to the other party with a stern face. After typing, he checked the wording from beginning to end.
Can.
No profanity;
Explain the other party's failure to perform duties;
The tone is calm, yet powerful.
Even so, after staring at the screen for a while, Yunli still couldn't muster up the heart to press the send button.
well.
And it seems a bit fierce.
Just as I was struggling over whether to change it to something softer, my thoughts were suddenly interrupted. "——Hello?"
Looking in the direction of the voice, Yunli was unexpectedly met with a pair of unfamiliar eyes.
The man was handsome and slender, like a college student who had not yet graduated. He seemed not very good at doing this kind of thing, and the boy looked shy: "Are you here for tourism?"
This was the sixth person who had spoken to her tonight.
Without exception, the first five people who came to ask her if she wanted to take a car and stay in a hotel.
Yunli automatically completed the rest of his words in his mind and waved his hands awkwardly: "No need..."
The boy paused: "Huh?"
Yunli: "I am waiting for someone and we don't plan to stay in a hotel."
The scene was static.
The two looked at each other.
This lasted for about three seconds, and the boy raised his hand and scratched his hair: "No."
He coughed lightly and said, "I just want to ask, can I get your WeChat?"
“…”
Yunli was stunned.
The boy's voice was clear, but it was lowered a few notes at this time: "Is it okay?"
"Ah." Yunli realized that he had misunderstood and looked embarrassed, "...Okay."
"Thank you." The boy took out his phone and said with a smile, "Then I'll scan you?"
Yunli nodded and turned on the screen again. The long paragraph she had just edited appeared again. She immediately returned, clicked on the WeChat QR code and handed it to him.
The boy bent down and politely introduced himself while adding: "My name is Fu Zhengchu, if you have time in the future, you can..."
The address book lights up with a red dot.
When Yunli saw the logo on his avatar, he felt something was wrong, and the guess that had just been denied resurfaced.
As expected.
The next second, the six words on the nickname came into view.
——Take some time to drink in a B&B.
“…”
Has soliciting customers reached this level now?
However, Fu Zhengchu didn't realize that he had used the wrong vest, and his expression showed a feeling of getting away with it. Then, he casually asked with concern: "Are you going to EAW next?"
Yunli looked at him.
Fu Zhengchu: "That VR experience center?"
Yunli asked cautiously: "How do you know?"
"I just accidentally saw your chat window, and there was a note. Sorry, I didn't mean to." Fu Zhengchu said, "And this one is near my school, so I guessed it."
The note Yunli gave to Ms. He only indicated that it was EAW, and did not explicitly state that it was a VR experience center.
This explanation is reasonable.
She nodded.
Fu Zhengchu: "But why are you here now? It looks like it's not open yet. We have to wait until the end of the month."
After matching the information one by one and not knowing how to respond, Yun Li could only honestly say, "Uh, I was invited."
"Invited?" Fu Zhengchu didn't seem to understand, but he didn't ask any more questions. "So you are waiting for them to pick you up?"
"Um."
"I see you've been waiting for quite a long time." After hesitating for a while, Fu Zhengchu was not deterred by her indifference and asked again, "Where are you going? How about I give you a ride?"
Hearing this, Yun Li's defenses rose again and he shook his head: "No, thank you."
Fu Zhengchu: "It's okay, this has something to do with me."
Yunli was even more confused: "Huh?"
"Oh." Fu Zhengchu recalled and explained, "Because EAW is owned by my brother."
Yunli: “…”
Why don't you just say it was you who opened it?
-
After a moment of silence, Yunli thought about it again and felt that this man's series of actions were very strange.
They lied to her one after another and invited her to join them for no apparent reason. It was like some fraudulent criminal group that specifically targeted single women. As soon as she thought about it, she gradually felt uneasy.
Even in public.
It was the middle of the night and we were unfamiliar with the place.
Not wanting to make it too obvious, Yunli made up a vague excuse and planned to leave the area.
Fu Zhengchu seemed to realize that his words were not only pretentious, but also slightly malicious, so he hurriedly explained. Unfortunately, it was of little use, and he felt that the more he explained, the worse it got, so he left soon.
Out of caution, Yunli did not stay where he was.
After twists and turns in the airport, she finally relaxed a little when she was sure that the boy hadn't caught up with her.
Because of this little episode, Yunli didn't want to stay here for long and turned on his phone again.
The screen remains on the chat interface.
Miss He hadn't replied yet, but Yun Li's impulse caused by depression had mostly dissipated. Staring at the sharp words, she sighed, and finally deleted them word by word.
Rather than continue waiting endlessly in the same place, it would be better for her to find a solution on her own. Yunli scrolled up and found the name of the hotel that Miss He had sent her, and searched for the approximate location.
It is near Nanwu University of Technology.
Before she could think it through, Miss He, who had been missing for a long time, suddenly replied.
Perhaps the dozen or so messages she had sent in succession had worked, as Ms. He kept apologizing, saying that she had accidentally fallen asleep and did not see the master saying he could not go over, and that someone new had been found to pick her up.
It was a member of the EAW staff, who happened to be nearby.
This time Miss He explained it very clearly.
Not only did they send me the license plate number, they also clearly stated that we would be there within ten minutes.
Although it was not timely, it helped Yunli solve the problem.
Yunli didn't have the mood to blame her anymore, and time was in a hurry, so he just replied "OK". He pulled up his suitcase and walked out. He didn't notice it indoors, but when he came out, he felt the damp and dense coolness.
…
Five minutes later.
Yunli's phone rang, and the caller ID showed a strange number from Nanwu. Seeing this, she hung up reflexively. As she pressed the button, she realized that it should be from EAW.
She paused, staring at the missed call, not daring to call back.
I’m also afraid that the other party will get impatient waiting.
Hesitate again and again.
Yunli bit his knuckles and mustered up the courage to fight back.
beep.
It only rang once before the other party picked up.
But he didn't say a word.
Yunli took the initiative to explain: "Sorry... I hung up accidentally." She didn't know how to address him, so she said awkwardly: "Are you from EAW?"
The interval is just a few seconds.
The man hummed. His voice was cold and tired, low and faint, like a hook lurking under the illusion of a demon, without emotion but able to capture the soul: "Come out, cross the road, you can see a parking lot--"
Yunli interrupted a little later: "Ah?"
The man paused and explained, "You can't park at the exit."
"Oh, okay." Yunli said, "I'll go over now."
Man: "You brought an umbrella?"
Yunli subconsciously glanced at the bag: "I brought it."
"Wait for me at the parking lot entrance."
After that, the phone was hung up.
The entire call took no more than a minute.
Yunli was confused and took out an umbrella from his bag.
According to the man's words, Yunli saw a car slowly approaching as soon as she arrived at the parking lot. She checked the license plate number sent by Miss He and finally confirmed it. She bent down across the passenger seat and said, "Hello, can you open the trunk?"
The dead trees cut through the streetlights, making the light fragmented.
It was dark inside the car and Yunli could only see his chin which was so pale that it looked sickly.
The man tilted his head and seemed to glance in her direction. He said nothing, put on his coat and hat, and got out of the car and walked over.
Yun Li was stunned and said quickly: "Well, no need... I can do it myself..."
The girl's voice was thin, but the sound of rain swallowed it up. The man seemed not to hear her, walked up to her, and took the suitcase from her. She had no choice but to swallow the rest of her words and changed her words: "...Thank you."
The raindrops fall sparsely, washing the city with a click.
Yunli looked around the unfamiliar environment, raised her eyes, and suddenly stopped. It was a very strange scene. In the vast blue sky, she saw the rare moon on a rainy day.
The man lifted the trunk and raised his head slightly. The lights were dim, and it seemed that a few rays of light fell on him uncontrollably.
Like cushioning the impact.
Time was forced to slow down. His appearance gradually became clearer.
Yunli's breathing inexplicably stopped for a few seconds.
The man had deep eye sockets, thin lips tightly shut, and a distant look on his face. His hair and eyelashes were stained with water droplets, making him look a little weak, but that didn't make him any less aggressive.
It’s so beautiful that you can’t take your eyes off it.
It also has thorns, so people dare not approach or touch it easily.
Seeing him lift the suitcase, Yunli came back to his senses. He took a few steps closer and held the umbrella over him.
The umbrella was not big, and it was difficult for two people to fit in it unless they got close together. Yunli was embarrassed to get too close, so he kept a safe distance and got wet in the rain.
There was unexpectedly a lot of stuff in the trunk.
The man piled the scattered items together and barely put the suitcase in. Not long after, he noticed Yunli next to him with his peripheral vision and turned his head.
He was tall, wearing a dark thin coat, with no expression on his face, which gave off a sense of oppression. At this moment, whether he was offended or for some other reason, he raised his eyes slightly, and stared at her quietly with his dark pupils.
Yunli swallowed, feeling a little nervous.
The next moment.
Yunli saw the man raise his hand towards her.
She froze in place.
In this situation, Yunli could still notice that the man's slender fingers were wet. He passed the back of her hand, continued to lift it up, slowly, pressed against the black umbrella ribs, and pushed gently.
The ribs of the umbrella brushed against her hair, ears, and neck.
Yunli was completely covered by the umbrella again.
The whole process takes no more than three or four seconds.
Then, the man turned around and closed the trunk. The sound was dull, drowned out by the crisp sound of rain. Accompanied by two words without ups and downs.
"Need not."
