Yunye x Yin Yunyi

It was still summer when Yin Yunyi first transferred to the junior high school of Xifu Experimental Middle School. She was carrying a light schoolbag and wearing a baseball cap for sun protection. Yin Yucheng saw her off to the door and reminded her, "Take off your hat when you greet your classmates."

"I know." She replied softly.

Yin Yunyi followed the teacher's instructions and bowed properly: "Hello everyone, I am Yin Yunyi."

The teacher pointed to an empty seat for her.

The boy next to him had delicate features, with fine hair hanging down in front of his forehead. There was a natural sense of impatience between his brows, and he didn't look very friendly.

"Hello."

Yin Yunyi greeted him a little nervously, but the other party just said "ah" softly, then turned his head casually and stared out the window.

Yin Yunyi looked at the boy's reflection in the window, his nose buried in his elbows, his eyes drooping.

She didn't notice that she was also reflected in the glass.

Yunye could see Yin Yunyi staring at him.

The boy who was lying on his stomach slowly moved, sat up straight, and looked at her sideways: "Why are you staring at me?"

The boy had slightly messy hair, clear eyes and a rebellious look.

Yin Yunyi opened her eyes wide, not at all intimidated by his inhuman appearance: "My name is Yin Yunyi."

Yunye: “I just heard it.”

The implication was that she didn't need to repeat herself.

The boy behind him poked Yunye with a pen and said with a smile: "Yunye, you are too argumentative. People asked you to introduce yourself."

Yunye let out a long "Ah?", his tone rising, and then said "Oh" without any emotion: "My name is Yunye."

No one took the initiative to interact with Yin Yunyi on the first day. She tried to talk to her desk mate Yunye several times, but the other party mostly just ended with "ah", "oh" or "hmm".

I don't understand why he is so cold.

It even made her feel a little impolite.

Yin Yunyi completely gave up the idea of talking to him.

After the first day of classes, she felt inexplicably discouraged and walked out with her schoolbag on her back.

Before she had taken two steps, she heard the boy's voice beside her: "I forgot to take my hat."

The boy walked right past her and put the hat on her head.

Yin Yunyi stared blankly at his back as it disappeared at the end of the corridor.

Yin Yucheng was waiting for her at the door: "How is the new school?"

Yin Yunyi thought about this dull day, not knowing how to describe it, and opened his mouth: "It's pretty good."

After returning home, Yin Yunyi's mind was full of thoughts on how to get along well with his classmates.

This classmate specifically refers to Yunye.

After being sleepless for half the night, Yin Yunyi didn't think of any particularly good ideas. Instead, Yun Ye's handsome face became clearer and clearer in his mind.

The next day, her classmate Xu Yao approached her in the hallway and said, "Did you know that your deskmate is a top student here? And he's super cool. Look at his face. Doesn't it look like the whole world owes him something?"

Yin Yunyi didn't sleep well last night, and blurted out, "Oh, isn't that just owing?"

As soon as the words came out, Yin Yunyi felt guilty for saying something bad about Yun Ye.

After returning to his seat, Yin Yunyi saw Yunye's forehead against the table. He was wondering why he slept in such a strange posture. After sitting down, he found that Yunye was secretly playing games.

The school has a rule that such small game consoles cannot be brought into the classroom.

Yin Yunyi opened the homework book. Perhaps she felt that this behavior was far from the academic master she had imagined, so she couldn't help but take a few more glances.

Yunye suddenly raised his head, a red mark on his forehead, his eyes sparkled, and his little tiger teeth showed in his smile: "Do you want to play?"

“…”

Is this the super cool person Xu Yao was talking about?

Staring at that lovely smile, Yin Yunyi politely and courteously refused: "No, thank you."

Yunye didn't show any frustration at being rejected. He smiled and lowered his head to continue playing with his phone: "Don't tell the teacher."

From Yin Yunyi's perspective, one could still see a faint red mark on his forehead.

Yin Yunyi was flipping through the book, a little distracted, and felt that Yunye's behavior was bold, unbridled and rebellious.

A scolding came from behind: "Yun Ye——"

"You're playing games again—"

The head teacher grabbed Yunye by the collar and took away his game console, but Yunye turned it off at the last moment.

Yunye was extremely calm: "I didn't play, the computer was turned off."

The head teacher hit him hard on the head, and Yunye held it in pain.

The head teacher turned to Yin Yunyi. Facing the quiet and well-behaved standard three-good student in his eyes, his voice became much softer: "Yin Yunyi, was Yunye playing games just now?"

Yun Ye was still being held by the collar by the head teacher, and she looked up at Yin Yunyi. She shook her palms, instinctively not wanting to lie, but meeting the eyes of this person who had barely been her deskmate for a day and a half, Yin Yunyi's expression was a little embarrassed.

The head teacher advised: "Just tell the truth."

Yunye saw her expression.

The head teacher thought Yunye would be stubborn to the end, but he said honestly: "I played."

It's indeed over.

Yin Yunyi watched Yun Ye being dragged out by the head teacher. Others were gloating or watching the show with a blank look on their faces. She frowned, her voice still soft: "Teacher, you can't pull his collar."

Yin Yunyi said decisively: "This is wrong."

The classroom was quiet.

The head teacher's mouth twitched, and he was about to lose his temper, but when he saw Yin Yunyi's well-behaved face, he controlled his temper and loosened Yunye's collar.

When Yunye came back, the man at the back table pushed Yunye’s shoulder and said, “You’re so stubborn today.”

Normally, when people are caught playing video games, they just admit their mistakes and hand over the games.

"Damn. That belongs to my sister. She'll kill me when she gets back." Yunye had a headache and frowned, "I want to buy an identical one."

Yin Yunyi thought that he would blame her when he came back, so she clenched her pen.

She didn't have much contact with Yun Ye, but she didn't want to have a bad relationship with him.

She wrote several cards to Yunye, but never handed them out. As she was doing the questions, Yin Yunyi gradually forgot about the matter. When she came to her senses, she found Yunye counting the change in his schoolbag.

Yin Yunyi asked: "Do you want to buy a game console?"

"Yeah." Yun Ye calculated it again. Yin Yunyi hesitated for a moment and said bluntly: "No matter how many times you calculate it, the money will not increase."

Yunye: “…”

He said nothing, took the banknote and put it in his pocket.

Yin Yunyi took the schoolbag from behind, took out a ten-yuan bill from the interlayer, and handed it to Yunye. He lowered his eyes and looked at it, but did not take it.

She felt a little uncomfortable: "Is ten yuan too little? My parents don't give me pocket money, and I only have ten yuan here."

Yunye was silent for a while and said, "Not a small amount." He took Yin Yunyi's schoolbag, folded the ten yuan, and put it back to its original compartment.

Then he put the schoolbag behind her.

He casually picked up a book on her desk, opened the first page and took a look, then said, "Yin Yunyi, thank you."

The two of them sat at the same table for half a semester. Yunye would not talk to her on weekdays and would only borrow a ruler and eraser from her occasionally.

Yin Yunyi felt that Yunye was a complicated person.

When he encounters something fun, he will be noisy and show his signature smile. At other times, he is just as Xu Yao said, so cold that people dare not approach him.

After the midterm exam, Yunye ranked second in the grade and Yin Yunyi ranked eighth.

It was an unwritten rule in the school that students with different grades should sit at the same table. After class, the head teacher walked over to the two of them and wanted to change their seats.

Yunye: “She’s not good at math.”

Yin Yunyi was stunned for a few seconds, not knowing why the other party commented on her like this, and calmly replied: "Yun Ye is not good at Chinese."

Yunye immediately changed his words: "Yes, I am bad at Chinese." Afraid that the head teacher would not believe him, he added: "The reason I was able to take first place this time is because Yin Yunyi helped me with Chinese. If I had moved my seat, my score would have been even worse."

The first seat adjustment failed.

After school that day, Yin Yunyi was confused about why Yun Ye thought she was bad at math. She followed him with her schoolbag on her back and asked, "What's wrong with my math?"

Yunye scratched his head and was stunned for a moment: "Who said that?"

Yin Yunyi: “You said it.”

He just remembered this: "That's because——"

Looking at the pair of gentle light-colored pupils in front of him, Yunye's voice stopped abruptly.

He unlocked the bike and climbed up.

The young man kicked his slender legs twice and rode leisurely past Yin Yunyi.

His voice remained in the air: "Gone."

One day, the health committee arranged for Yin Yunyi and Yunye to be on duty together.

Girls develop earlier than boys. Yin Yunyi was much taller than Yunye at that time, so she took the initiative to say, "Let me wipe the blackboard."

Yunye held the blackboard eraser in his hand, stopped on the blackboard, jumped upwards, and erased the top few words.

After proving himself in such a childish way, he was not ashamed and simply handed the eraser to her.

After finishing their duty, they were the only two left in the classroom. Yunye quickly threw his books into his backpack, put his hand over his shoulder and waved at her: "Let's go."

Yin Yunyi asked him: "Can you wait for me?"

As soon as she said this, she felt a little suspicious.

I thought the other party would refuse, but Yunye stopped and sat back on his desk, propping up the wooden table with both hands out of boredom and tilting his head back slightly.

Yin Yunyi was packing her things slowly. Yun Ye looked back at her desk, where neatly arranged pens, notes, and notebooks were placed. The pencil case was clean and transparent, with translucent cherry blossoms printed on it.

He shifted his gaze to Yin Yunyi and said, "There is chalk dust in your hair."

"Oh." Yin Yunyi smoothed her hair with her hand.

Yunye yawned and continued, "It's not there."

Yin Yunyi dialed again.

Yunye glanced, and then Yin Yunyi saw that his arm blocked the light, and the area around his eyes was instantly shrouded in shadow.

Yin Yunyi paused.

The hand barely touched her, brushing the dust away from her hair.

She felt nervous and stuffed her things together, saying, "I'm done, let's go."

"Oh." Yunye landed lightly on the ground.

Yin Yunyi glanced at his sneakers. The toes were a little worn out due to frequent playing.

On Yunye's birthday, Yin Yunyi told Yin Yucheng that he wanted to buy a pair of sneakers for his deskmate as a birthday gift.

Yin Yunyi didn't know Yunye's size, so he asked Yin Yucheng to buy a pair near the school and put the receipt in it so that Yunye could go and exchange them himself.

After school, she walked towards the door as usual. When she passed the basketball court, she saw a familiar figure.

Yunye was wearing the pair of basketball shoes she gave him as a gift, bouncing the basketball. He paused for several seconds and met her eyes.

He only came to his senses when the ball was tapped away by the person next to him.

Yunye didn't tell anyone that the shoes were given to him by Yin Yunyi.

In the past, he would wear his sneakers directly to school and play with them all day. But with this pair, he would put them in a bag and put them on when he went to the court to minimize wear and tear on them.

When Yin Yunyi noticed it, a basketball came flying towards her and she subconsciously blocked it with her hand.

This is not the first time.

Yin Yunyi had been hit by a basketball before. Many boys would use this method to attract girls' attention.

Every time he got hurt by being hit, Yin Yunyi thought it was no big deal and would say it was okay to the boys who came to apologize with a playful smile.

The ball was flying quite fast and was about to hit her, but a figure stood in front of her and caught the basketball easily.

The boy who threw the ball had aimed very accurately under the encouragement of other classmates, and was ready to come over and talk to Yin Yunyi.

Yunye threw the basketball back at him, saying in a cold tone, "Just play basketball well. Do you deserve to be hit?"

The boy was already feeling guilty, and when he saw Yunye's unfriendly expression, he immediately picked up the basketball and ran back to the court.

Yunye turned his head and, after making a reasonable inference, was about to say "you're welcome" when Yin Yunyi spoke first.

"Don't be so fierce next time. Aren't you afraid that they will beat you?"

She looked at the thin and gaunt figure in front of her, tilted her head, and spoke with a tone full of disapproval.

Without any gratitude for being rescued by a hero, Yin Yunyi said as a matter of course: "They are so much taller than you."

Yunye turned his head and looked at her in silence for a while.

He was covered in sweat and panting. He said to Yin Yunyi, "I'm going to play basketball."

"Yun Ye." Yin Yunyi called out. Yun Ye looked at her in confusion. She grabbed the strap of her schoolbag, pursed her lips, and confirmed again: "They won't beat you, right?"

"It shouldn't be that boring."

Someone on the court was calling Yunye, but he didn't say anything and ran back.

By the time Yunye finished playing, it was almost six o'clock.

With his hair wet with sweat, he walked to the parking shed, where only his bicycle was locked. Opposite the parking shed was a public pool, and Yunye went over to turn on the tap, splashing cold water on his face with one hand, and then simply wet his hair with cold water.

After turning off the faucet, he looked up. The water blurred his vision, but he clearly saw Yin Yunyi standing in front of him, handing him a pack of tissues.

Yunye took the tissue: "Thank you."

He paused for a moment and asked her, "Why haven't you left yet?"

Yin Yunyi usually leaves early.

"I was about to leave." Yin Yunyi hesitated for a long time. Seeing that it was inconvenient for Yunye to hold the tissue with one hand, she helped him open it and handed him a tissue.

She was too embarrassed to tell him that she was worried that he would be beaten up for his rude words just now.

It was as if...she only noticed that he was not tall.

Yunye spread out the tissue and wiped his hair casually. The broken tissue stuck to his eyelashes, and he frowned and brushed it away with his fingers. His eyes were a little out of focus, and he blinked, and her outline became clear again.

Just like when we first met, she was tall, with a high ponytail, a slender neck, an oval face with light almond eyes, and a small nose and lips.

Yunye felt that his breathing became unnatural, and he said hurriedly: "I'm leaving."

Walked directly past Yin Yunyi.

After two steps, he turned back and asked her, "Aren't you leaving?"

Yin Yunyi thought of his usual wind-like figure and said, "I don't have a bicycle, you go first."

She turned around and walked towards the school gate with her schoolbag on her back.

After walking a few steps, she heard the jingling sound of bicycle bells.

Yunye rode to her side and got off the bike.

Only then did Yin Yunyi notice that this was a mountain bike.

She confirmed Yunye's height again and asked him softly, "Is it dangerous for you to ride this?"

Yunye responded with a nasal tone, and she couldn't understand what he meant.

Walked a little further.

The dusk lengthened their figures. Yunye pushed the cart beside her. She heard the sound of wheels rubbing against the ground and turned her head to peek at Yunye.

Yin Yunyi's mind went blank for a few seconds, and an idea naturally popped up in his mind: Yunye will look better when he grows taller.

Although he is very good looking now.

Every time he changed seats, Yunye’s Chinese grades would get worse.

In order to protect him as the potential district top student, the head teacher made them sit at the same table for two years.

Yin Yunyi's parents were extremely strict with her. Apart from studying and attending cram schools, she had almost no other entertainment in her life. Even to use a computer, Yin Yunyi had to ask her parents for permission on the grounds of studying.

As a result, after being deskmates for two years, she and Yunye hardly participated in any activities together.

We didn't say much.

After the high school entrance exam, Yin Yunyi opened the class group chat, stared at Yunye's original penguin avatar, and clicked on the friend request. As if to appear less deliberate, she added several people at the same time.

Yunye passed it immediately.

The conversation box between the two remained blank for the entire holiday.

When high school started, Yin Yunyi didn't see Yunye, and she felt a little discouraged. It wasn't until a month later that she took the class placement test and entered the key class, and she saw that figure in the corner of the new class.

The boy was lying on the table, and the seat next to him was empty.

Just like during those two years in junior high school, Yin Yunyi walked over and sat quietly beside him.

Yunye straightened up as if nothing had happened.

The two people met each other's eyes, and then looked away as if they had been electrocuted.

The seating in the class is random, and Yunye and Yin Yunyi are no longer sitting at the same table.

The academic pressure in high school increased, and the daily activities of boys and girls had no intersection. Yin Yunyi did not blindly indulge in the vague emotions, but focused all his attention on his studies.

That day, they were assigned to be on duty together. Yin Yunyi habitually picked up the blackboard eraser, turned her head, and found Yunye also standing in front of the blackboard. The dim light of the setting sun shone on him, and his light brown eyes, which became more colorful because of the sunset, drooped and looked at her.

Yunye naturally stretched out his hand towards her and placed it in front of her with his palm facing up.

She only then noticed that after a holiday, Yunye grew rapidly and became tall and thin.

Yunye stared at her motionlessly, his tone no different from before: "Blackboard eraser."

At that moment, Yin Yunyi's heart suddenly accelerated, and unspeakable emotions seeped out from the bottom of her heart. She hurriedly handed him the blackboard eraser, picked up the newspaper on the podium and ran to the window.

Through the window, she saw Yunye with one hand in his pocket, and when he raised his hand he could easily touch the top of the blackboard.

That is the hottest time of the year in the western part of the year. Even in the evening, the heat and sunlight can scorch people.

When the two finished their shift, it was already half past five. Yin Yunyi rummaged through her schoolbag for a long time and muttered, "Why am I not wearing a hat?" She searched again in disbelief and had to give up and put on her schoolbag.

Yunye had just washed his hands and returned to his seat. Yin Yunyi glanced at him and reminded him, "There's chalk dust on your head."

Yunye didn't bother to care: "Just let it get on."

Thinking of what happened in junior high school, she stood on tiptoe and used her fingertips to brush the strands of hair on his forehead. Yunye opened his eyes wide in confusion and was stunned for a moment.

Yin Yunyi quickly withdrew his hand: "It's not dirty now."

Yunye still didn't understand the feeling in his heart. He just felt his face getting hot and it was a little difficult to breathe. He said awkwardly: "No, I just like to get dusty."

Without continuing the conversation, Yin Yunyi walked towards the school gate.

As soon as she went out, a gust of wind blew by her and a hat was gently put on her head. Yunye rode past her on his bike and waved to her, just like the first time.

"Leave."

Boys have larger head circumferences than girls, and the hat was loose on her head, blocking part of her vision. She could only see the wheels of the bicycle. After straightening the hat, there was no trace of Yunye in front of her.

The fabric seemed to carry the other person's temperature.

That moment.

Yin Yunyi suddenly realized that the feeling of accelerated heartbeat every time he saw Yunye was called love.
