Chapter 121 Escape

Chapter 121 Escape

"It's not certain yet. There are several springs below that are constantly churning. Based on current speculation, I judge that there is at least one resurrection ley line here."

"Yes, I've noticed that too; the water temperature increases as you go down the slope."

Seeing that the situation was like this, Captain Xu thought of something and turned to get the documents.

The researchers accompanying them also gathered around.

Luo Yin had been listening intently for a while, and at the same time, she was thinking and guessing what might be below the Fountain of Immortality.

No, they weren't the ones who got to say it, but Old Chen did speak up.

“No need to guess anymore, what you found definitely came from below,” Chen Dong said, pointing to the tranquil hot spring. “And I can guarantee that the source of those things is not here.”

The remaining people at the scene looked at Old Chen's earnest words.

His expression was inexplicably strange and suspicious.

His words were so resolute. Was he relying on something, or was there another reason?

"Mr. Chen, what do you mean by that?"

Chen Dong straightened his back, his expression as if lost in some kind of nostalgia. "It was around this time that I first saw such a thick glacier."

"when?"

"With whom?"

It was rare to hear Old Chen mention the past, which piqued everyone's curiosity.

"Alright, alright, this is all ancient history."

"You all rest now, and when the time comes, prepare to go into the water."

Seeing that Old Chen was only saying half a sentence and hiding the other half, everyone's eyes turned to Captain Xu.

"Old Chen was right. Everyone should go and rest first. There's still a lot to do."

Compared to other parts of the glacier, this slightly warmer spot was quite suitable for them to pitch their tents and rest. However, this made the group of comrades stationed outside the Kunlun Mountains very anxious.

Since they left, in the last few days before the deadline.

The people in the large base counted day by day.

They would always send someone to keep watch outside, and if they spotted any of them, they would immediately return to notify the authorities.

But the reality is far from good!

"Qi Zhu, they've been delayed for two weeks and there's no sign of them. Are we really not going in to rescue them?"

Qi Zhu, who was asked, is currently the person in charge of the camp.

His brow was furrowed, and his makeshift desk was piled high with various documents.

Many of them were sent in with great difficulty through special channels!

"Not now, it's not the right time."

"But human life is more important, I'm afraid..."

Qi Zhu interrupted the security captain, "I understand your concerns. I'll vouch for this. You can go out now."

The security captain looked at him with disappointment and helplessness.

Having no other choice, he turned and left, returning to his post, where someone nearby inquired about his situation.

He interrupted them all!

"You're all focused on the safety of the surrounding area, but we can't let our guard down here."

"Captain, we all know that we have to be on high alert every day when we're on guard duty."

"That's right, that's right!"

They temporarily changed the subject, and the captain waited until no one was around before finally showing his worry on his face.

Compared to the difficult start of the first group, the other two groups gradually got on track.

Some teams, based on the specific local conditions, sought the truth while ensuring the intensity of mining and excavation, uncovering crucial clues through meticulous investigation.

By combining this with long-standing proverbs, the unique components of the transformation were successfully analyzed.

It was quite easy to figure out the structure of that so-called ice coffin.

There is absolutely no need for time-consuming and laborious excavation; identification and determination can be carried out without any effort or expense.

There is a great deal of misconception about archaeology among the general public.

That means everything that is seen, exposed, and exists must be excavated and preserved.

However, with the development of society and the times, a large part of cultural relics and material culture cannot be achieved with current technology alone.

For example, the mausoleum of the First Emperor of All Time, which shocked the entire nation.

That's a typical example; we know where it is, and we know its approximate size and structure.

They even know exactly what the mechanisms and traps are inside.

But who dares to make the decision to open it up, who dares to excavate it?

No one, absolutely no one can guarantee that.

As the gates of time slowly open, will the wheels of history, in the blink of an eye, destroy those treasures and artifacts? Therefore, after much discussion and deliberation, they decided to preserve the ice coffin in its original state.

Let it remain as it is.

Let's withstand the coming and going of hardships!

In many situations, human intervention often backfires.

People realized this, and history took another big step forward.

Groups two and three persevered through the difficulties, but when Elder Xia finally arrived in Kunlun, he immediately heard that they had gone missing.

More than half a month has passed, and people from the outside have been sent to search for them.

All traces have been wiped away cleanly!

"Old Xia, any further in is a restricted area. All signals are unusable, so we really dare not act rashly."

When the captain saw the veteran comrade appear, he was so excited that he almost cried.

Who would have thought that the person who participated in numerous dangerous and important events without batting an eye would be so tormented these days that his hair is almost turned white?

During the day, he worries about the safety of the squads that go out, and at night he worries about the missing comrades. He never has a moment of peace!

"Okay, I understand. Could you please tell me their route and plan when they left? Also, please compile all your current rescue routes."

Xia Ming immediately took the initiative. He didn't comfort the others or say anything reassuring.

With just a few simple words and actions, he subconsciously told everyone present not to panic or rush, that everything was alright.

"Okay, I'll get it right away."

Seeing this, Qi Zhu first briefly described the recent work progress, and then handed over an envelope.

"This was given to you by Comrade Chen before he left."

"Oh, let me see what's inside?"

Even though he was somewhat prepared, after carefully reading the letter, Old Xia still couldn't help but slam his fist on the table.

"Foolish, ridiculous!"

"Old Xia, are you alright?" Qi Zhu asked with concern, startled.

Old Xia slowly changed his expression and said, "Ah, you can go out first, I'm fine."

Seeing that he didn't want to talk, Qi Zhu hurriedly came over.

In the following half hour, several more heavy thuds were heard coming from Xia Lao's tent.

Ganda, the young master who was busy tidying up the local medicinal herbs, also watched silently for a few moments.

He knew that Comrade Xia Ming was the most capable person in their team.

After hearing from his colleagues that Captain Xu and his group had gone missing, he had been wanting to do something to help.

But he rarely interacted with them, and most of their conversations revolved around collecting, preparing, and distributing medicinal herbs. Fortunately, there was still Comrade Jianshe around.

At least they can communicate without problems; if they speak too fast, they switch to Tibetan.

"I think it's unlikely. They didn't bring much food, just enough for one round trip. It's been so many days, unless they can find something to eat."

Jianshe lay in the corner, a blade of grass dangling from his mouth, gazing at the sky. "But look around, there's not a single fresh wild vegetable in sight, just bare, withered grass. Unless we eat this?"

Ganda Gyatso stopped rolling the pills in his hands.

“I don’t think so. They’re really good.” He had personally witnessed how good this group was, especially Captain Huo and Comrade Luo Yin.

These two captains are more magical, or rather, mysterious than the other.

He firmly believed that they would return safely.

He knelt with both legs, rhythmically swaying his right hand, maintaining a meditative posture, while silently reciting the six-syllable mantra.

Jianshe glanced at him and knew exactly what he was doing.

Even though he was initially lazy, he became serious and took out the prayer wheel he always carried with him.

The two continued their subtle actions quietly for several more days.

As if in response to their prayers, lightning and thunder suddenly began to flash across the Kunlun Mountains, with rolling thunderclouds and dark clouds looming overhead!

Hearing the thunderous noise, the people nearby became alert.

Xia Ming and his assistant Qi came out one after the other, looking at the sky outside.

"This situation is not good."

Qi Zhu nodded. "The unusually extreme weather is exacerbating the magnetic field disorder, and the directions are becoming increasingly dense, indicating that they are heading directly into the Kunlun Mountains."

After patrolling the area, the team leader anxiously reported the situation: "Old Xia, we have to leave first, otherwise we will be the first to suffer if a heavy rain comes down here."

"Okay, we'll do as you say and leave immediately."

After Xia Ming finished speaking, he gestured for everyone around him to get moving.

Especially for the key data and records this time, not a single sheet of paper can get wet!

Rumble~

Rumble rumble~

Thunderclouds filled the sky, and after about ten minutes, it got completely dark.

The wind howled~

The evacuation was somewhat affected, but everyone braved the rain and, with torches and lights for illumination, finally reached a relatively safe location after two hours of effort.

At this time, the largest tent in the base also served as their meeting place, which was their main base.

Apart from the necessary guards and those responsible for protecting research materials, the main people in charge are all here.

"Look, isn't that the direction they left in?"

Someone pointed directly at the northeastern corner of the sky!

Everyone's eyes swept over the area, and they were immediately stunned!

What is that?

Everyone present was stunned. Could that thing soaring and flying under the lightning be dragon energy?

"Did you guys just see that? I'm not seeing things, am I?"

"I saw it too."

"Me too."

With one person agreeing, the rest immediately felt reassured.

But Qi Zhu's next words broke the deadlock: "This isn't going right, is it? It looks to me that the lightning is really going to strike it?"

"ah?"

As soon as he finished speaking, everyone's eyes widened.

Trying to find something in the dark sky, the group quickly and accurately located it.

The first time, the second time, the tenth time...

It really is being struck by lightning again; is it undergoing a cleansing process to reach a higher dimension?

"Hey, it seems to have shrunk."

"Yes, their figures are all blurry and unclear."

Mr. Xia remained silent throughout the entire event, witnessing the shocking scene unfold.

When he heard his comrades exclaim in surprise, every detail of Chen Dong's plan flashed through his mind, and they all matched up perfectly.

Old Master Xia's expression was solemn, and he could see that his thoughts were becoming increasingly skewed.

Just when things were going in the wrong direction, change came into view again.

From the direction of the summit of the sacred mountain to the west, another light source appeared.

It was directly exposed to everyone!

Compared to the previous one, this one seems to be of a higher level, like the difference between a small snake and a dragon.

There is an insurmountable gap between them!

"Are they fighting?"

"Isn't this a cutthroat competition?"

As exclamations arose, they quickly realized that it seemed to be a true battle between two dragons!

Above the sky, there was an endless roar and howl!

Beneath this veil, a brutal and bloody struggle slowly unfolded.

Meanwhile, the entire group at the center of the battle struggled to their feet as they crawled out of the pool.

The shore and the water were in a mess.

Each person grabbed one, practically dragging the person up.

The scene shows backpacks in various locations.

"Everyone's here, right? We can't all linger; we need to leave quickly." Captain Xu counted the number of people and, finding it correct, was about to lead everyone away immediately.

Many people also looked up at the sky, as if the roars of dragons were exploding right above their heads.

They watched as Old Chen, somehow, not only successfully led them along the underground spring to a natural cave beneath the Kunlun Mountains; but also, as if he had eyes, he was able to break through all sorts of barriers and dead ends, digging directly to the core of the Kunlun Mountains.

This is also the key area of their mission.

According to recorded data, the frequency and variation patterns of this region are almost identical to those of the Ailao Mountains.

In fact, during their initial investigation, there were many other places across China where abnormal changes occurred, but many of these places were crossed out during subsequent visits and investigations.

That means that what was left behind and what was marked did indeed contain anomalies.

With the progress of national strength and social sciences, many taboos that were once suppressed and could not be revealed have gradually come to the surface, especially after predictions about the world order over the next century have been made.

These discussions were revealed in private tea conversations among some of the country's top feng shui masters in the early years.

What started as a small test among the old guys unexpectedly attracted the attention of many parties. Some of them realized the enormous value behind it and attempted to sell the intelligence and leave the country.

However, he was immediately apprehended by lurking national security personnel. Nevertheless, the information was intercepted by intelligence brokers from various countries operating within the country and sent abroad.

Such a situation naturally needed to be reported immediately, and after the information was passed up through the chain of command, the leader nodded to indicate that he was aware of the matter.

Thus, a plan was formed!

Xu Cheng was unaware of what was hidden behind the action plan; for an archaeologist, being able to personally visit Kunlun for testing and observation was enough to be included in his life experience.

His experiences along the way have indeed lived up to his expectations.

But who could tell him that this old man, Chen, who looked thin and small, was unusually impulsive and irritable, and how he had ended up using weapons? He had mentioned the consequences of disturbing the earth and chiseling underground; at best, it would cause structural changes, damage to the surrounding load-bearing structure, and endanger lives; at worst, it could directly destroy the mountains and glaciers that had stood there for billions of years.

Then they placed things in several other places.

He had just taken something from their hideout and left their private area in such a mess. If it weren't for Old Chen's restraint, he really wouldn't know how he would have handled that situation.

Team Leader Xu's mind became increasingly clear.

Regardless of being soaked to the bone, everyone simply shouldered their backpacks and left.

"You all go first, I'll stay behind to cover the retreat!"

Hosen, who was on the periphery, stopped and spoke up.

Team Leader Xu and everyone else looked at him first.

"Go quickly, I'll be right there."

"No, this is too dangerous. Old Chen really can't listen to you this time. Everyone must evacuate immediately," Xu Cheng declared in the tone of a team leader.

People around them tried to persuade them, but everyone was shivering from the cold, and only their breath was steaming from their mouths.

Looking at the once warm hot spring, now devoid of even heat and frothing with thin ice, everyone looked at Old Chen with even greater apprehension and fear.

This old man is truly like a living god!

How exactly did they manage to do that?

Everyone had doubts in their hearts, wanting to ask but not daring to?

Luo Yin was equally puzzled. She had been recalling every detail and change since then, and it seemed he had instructed them to take something?

Luo Yin subconsciously glanced at several people in the crowd, her gaze sweeping over them one by one before landing on Captain Huo.

Hosen froze, his cold body suddenly warming up as she looked over.

"It's too late, kid, you'd better hurry."

Chen Dong ignored him and shouted at the person on the far side.

Hosen's brows were cold and stern, and his body, as cold as ice, became much stiffer when he moved.

"Countdown, two minutes!"

Hosen shouted to his companions, and someone immediately responded.

"Everyone, follow me and get out of here! As the captain of Special Investigation Team 749, I order you to leave immediately!" "During Operation 749, regardless of which department is involved, all authority must be unconditionally surrendered. Do you understand?"

In the blink of an eye, the man darted from the outside to the inside and explained the situation.

Everyone felt a bit more relieved upon hearing this; 749, the legendary department.

I never thought we'd actually meet!

Now that we've seen it, we should naturally follow orders, since that's certainly true.

Team Leader Xu's changing expression also served as a warning of the seriousness of the matter.

"Speed up and break through."

"yes!"

The small team of fewer than ten people unleashed unprecedented energy at this moment.

Hosen, who was left behind, watched as the person disappeared in the blink of an eye.

The two commotion in the sky gradually came to an end, and a fierce, swirling red eye looked in his direction.

In a short while, they arrived close, and Hossen gripped the object in his hand tightly.

He rushed quickly toward the pool of water, and the next moment a figure flashed behind him. The immense intimidation made him realize the horror of the situation without even turning around.

I'm really afraid I won't be able to go back this time.

When Hosen was enveloped by that massive black object, the suffocating pulling force almost tore him apart.

The confined underwater environment caused his veins to bulge, and his usually cold and stern face to become ferocious.

But he simply didn't have the ability to fight it. Even if he used all his energy to dive down, it would only take a single breath from it!

He felt waves of impending death; he knew he really couldn't hold on any longer.

The giant object wrapped him tighter and tighter as if playing with him.

He was so close he could feel the hard, iron-like scales scratching him, leaving many tiny wounds. Even at the last moment, he was still gazing at the water, hoping for something.

The next moment, his body went limp!

Those who had run away from the battlefield looked back and found that some people were missing again.

"One or two, besides Captain Huo, are there two other people?"

Captain Xu was so anxious that his hair stood on end.

This is really weird!

"I just saw them carrying their things and running back."

What?

Xu Cheng almost fainted from fright. What did he mean by running back?

Someone rushed to help him up: "Captain Xu, what happened? Are you alright?"

Where is Old Chen?

"Oh, right, it's gone too."

"No, two more people are missing."

Chen Dong and Luo Yin have also disappeared!

Xu Cheng rolled his eyes and fainted.

The two sober individuals looked at each other, forcibly suppressing the panic on their faces.

"Let's get him to a safe location first."

"I agree, there are other things too."

He pointed to the pile of damaged cultural relics on the ground.

Although the two are usually inconspicuous and just do some data work, they are not afraid when they encounter someone.

"But do you think they can come back?"

He couldn't help but ask.

"It definitely can."

At this moment, Luo Yin, who had half-pulled and half-dragged Old Chen to a high place, looked up at the scene below.

"Mr. Chen, I don't see any markings."

"There's no one down there."

"What about the other two directions?" Chen Dong's tattered clothes fluttered in the wind.

"Got it, got it, the east and south sides are both fixed." Luo Yin squinted and searched for a while before finally spotting two faint lights.

"Okay, do as I teach you."

"Okay, I've got it."

Luo Yin roughly grasped the basics, recalling the instructions she had received on the way.

"Go quickly, don't worry about me."

After saying this, Chen Dong immediately threw out a magic artifact from his hand and quickly chanted an incantation to condense it into an array.

Luo Yin ran very fast and in the blink of an eye, she rushed to the northernmost ice platform.

That was arranged long ago, but I still fell several times.

Before the pain even started to hit her body, she immediately got up again.

At this moment, the giant bow and arrow, anchored by the Unfrozen Pool, slowly took shape in Chen Dong's hand. It was an ordinary black bow and arrow, exuding an icy chill. As people fixed their positions on the northwest, south, and north sides.

A beam of light flashed from the southeast and the west. Luo Yin immediately crushed the talisman in her hand, and then a large halo slowly appeared around her, all of which were now floating towards the west.

Luo Yin was shocked, and then she saw with her own eyes that Old Chen had tightened the bowstring.

Then wait until the same light spots appear on the dark rain of arrows.

An arrow was shot!

At the same time, staff monitoring the internal frequencies discovered spatial distortion and folding, and immediately reported it to their superiors.

Such fluctuations are sufficient to be classified as a major incident.

Local authorities immediately took action.

The outposts near Kunlun Mountain and the herders in the area evacuated and relocated overnight.

Upon hearing that a group of archaeological researchers had recently been taken inside, the sentry officers, while ensuring their own evacuation, also dispatched a small team to help the villagers evacuate.

Xia Ming, of course, also received the news.

In his position, he was the one in the team who knew the cause and effect best. It wasn't until he realized that Chen Dong was really going to use spatial anchors to counter the local bullies that he understood.

Xia Ming's eyes were filled with admiration and awe.

"He really did it!"

Thud~~~

Boom~~~

Several enormous roars echoed from the sky, the mountaintop, and inside!

The shockwave caused everyone present to experience ringing in their ears and a sense of disorientation. The ground trembled incessantly, there was a tearing sensation beneath their feet, and the space itself felt shaky and unstable.

All the irrational things are trapped on this sacred mountain.

Dust covered the surroundings, and snowflakes scattered across the glacier.

Like a rolling wave of snow, it slid down from a distance, and the people at the mountain pass immediately fell to the ground upon seeing it.

It instantly covered the entire surrounding area.

There is no trace or presence of any biological activity.

At the entrance to the safe zone, the comrades, who had been rushing along the tracks, arrived to find the surrounding area in complete chaos.

As you get closer, the marks buried under the snow become more apparent.

"Oh no! Everyone, come quick and save them! They're buried underneath!"

"Come help! Everyone spread out and dig the person out first."

As soon as these words were spoken, those who had been knocked unconscious or struggled out immediately began to save themselves.

As the team entered, Xia Lao and his group's tent was finally discovered.

After they had been busy rescuing people one by one, they heard them say that there were still people inside.

"What? There's such a commotion inside. I'm afraid it won't work."

"But don't worry, we'll go in right away, and even if we have to dig, we'll find those comrades as soon as possible." The squad leader was just worried that they might be found without a trace, and this wasn't just her being paranoid.

"Thank you, comrades. This is the map we marked, which can be used as a reference to a great extent."

Xia Ming marked the points he had emphasized.

Many of these are action plans mentioned by Mr. Chen, which can serve as a reference for them.

"Thank you, the rest of you, come with me."

Watching another group of people enter the Kunlun region.

Xia Ming's hands trembled slightly, his eyes revealing an unusual firmness and determination.

"You must come back safely."

"Have you found them?"

On a vast, white snowfield, several people met up from one end, looking disheveled.

"Pah, I don't have any here."

"I don't have any here either. At least half an hour has passed now. If we miss the best time to rescue them, it will be too late."

"Keep searching."

“I’m going too.” Luo Yin pulled Chen Lao back, telling him to take the child with him.

Chen Dong felt he shouldn't be a burden, but his swaying figure showed that he wasn't in good condition either.

"Hey, old man, wait over there." Luo Yin had only taken two steps when she heard a thud.

Chen Dong was completely dizzy!

"Hey, what's wrong?"

"Grandpa, are you alright?" Luo Yin called out and patted him gently, but his eyes were tightly closed, and his body was icy cold to the touch.

Luo Yin was startled, and her hands twitched in shock from the cold.

"Why is it so cold!"

Hearing the commotion, someone who was helping to search for the person rushed over and asked, "Comrade Luo, what happened to Old Chen? Is he injured?"

Luo Yin and he helped the man up. "I don't know, he suddenly fainted, but his body temperature dropped very quickly. We need to find a place to warm him up, otherwise we're afraid something might happen."

Another comrade surfaced from underwater, shivering.

"Ahem, you two go ahead, I'll take care of things here."

"Okay, hang in there!"

Fortunately, the surrounding area had been checked before. One person carried Old Chen on his back, while Luo Yin pulled the few remaining backpacks and quickly found the rest of her teammates.

The three of them staggered out of the snowdrift, which was several meters deep.

They saw several figures walking towards them.

"They're back, go pick them up."

"What happened? Are you all alright?"

"Oh, what's wrong with Old Chen?"

“Abnormal body temperature, this is hypothermia on the ice field, we have to save him quickly.” As soon as another part-time first aider said this, everyone immediately moved him to the nearest open space.

Their equipment is there, and they can set up a tent temporarily.

"Captain Xu, we're entrusting Old Chen to you now. We need to rush back to find him."

Upon hearing him say that, Captain Xu's temples throbbed.

"Wait, I'll go with you. Xiao Xu, are you sure you can manage alone?"

Xiao Xu was the rescuer. "I might need a helper."

He was helpless, but the conditions here were harsh, and someone had to help him get something.

Captain Xu glanced at Luo Yin without thinking, "I can swim!" "To save someone, you have to go into the water!"

Captain Xu, who wasn't very good at swimming, immediately fell silent. "Then I'll stay."

The three of them quickly ran back.

Upon arrival, the three of them went into the water without saying a word, and soon a large area of the covered snow melted into the spring.

What was once a warm and comfortable spring that never froze has become a death sentence!

"The temperature is getting lower and lower. If we don't get up here soon, we'll have to go up," Cheng Zhang said resolutely, looking at the others.

He is currently the de facto leader of the team, a decision based on the harsh realities of the situation.

"good."

Some people know what's important and what's not.

Luo Yin's face was pale, but her eyes were unusually sharp.

"He shouldn't be in any trouble. She's fine, and Old Man Chen said they're all extraordinary." These words weren't just to comfort herself, but also to comfort others. In any case, Luo Yin gritted her teeth and sneaked back in.

Visibility underwater is very low.

In addition to the impact of previous fluctuations, a large portion of the underground silt was stirred up.

Even at the very beginning, she would go down to the lowest level and sneak in to touch the mud and sand.

But the area below is too deep and too big!

The flashlight they were using to go underwater broke, but fortunately, before they left, Old Chen took the initiative to remove the mechanism below.

They have now confirmed that the person was lost down below.

But behind the truth may lie a male corpse that has long been buried deep underwater.

Then came another sudden sound of water breaking.

The next moment, he showed a look of disappointment and helplessness.

Still nothing!

"I don't have any here either."

But some people, without even taking a break after speaking, turned around and went back into the water.

Exhausted, Loin leaned against the stone wall.

When I braced myself with one hand, I wasn't paying attention and bumped my head on it.

The weight of the object on her chest caused her sharp pain.

"That's it, I've got an idea."

Luo Yin suddenly had an idea. She took out the little red rope hanging around her neck and felt the warm stone on it.

I tried my best to recall that scent I had once tried so hard to smell.

Yes, what kind of is it?

It has a subtle woody flavor with a pleasant aroma of nuts mixed with caramel.

Yes, that's the taste!

Where, where?

Luo Yin calmed herself down, closed her eyes, and focused all her attention on the tip of her nose.

She remained silent for a moment until someone noticed that she was not moving and seemed to be acting strangely.

She immediately turned around and plunged into the water—she found it!

Luo Yin didn't open her eyes at all, but wandered along the direction of the lingering scent.

When you lie down, hold your breath, and close your eyes, everything around you seems to fall into a vacuum.

But she seemed to be able to smell it, and she resisted the urge to swim up, moving again until she stopped.

Glug glug~

At this moment, her lungs were severely compressed, and her whole body was flushed red from holding her breath.

But as soon as she opened her eyes, she was about to grope around.

Suddenly, a bead appeared floating on the water.

"Gurgle~" That's it.

She reached out to grab it, but unexpectedly pulled out a pale arm.

Luo Yin was shocked and overjoyed, and went to pull him away.

Unexpectedly, Hosen was already unconscious. She immediately checked his breathing and pulse, and at the same time began to swim upwards.

The air pressure in the water created a lot of resistance for her, but it also provided a boost.

She was dragging along an adult male who was nearly 1.9 meters tall.

If this were on land, it would definitely take an extraordinary woman to have this strength; but underwater it was different. She used all her strength and finally managed to drag him, who was incredibly heavy, a step.

But her rapidly beating heart and intense dizziness made her realize her shortcomings.

If only they had gone a little further, they would have found it.

Hang in there, keep going!

Fearing she would faint, Luo Yin drew her weapon and slashed her arm twice; at the same time, she grabbed his clothes and dragged him upwards.

The blood then floated away with the water, and she breathed a sigh of relief.

After crossing the halfway point, I finally saw that the sky was not completely black.

This means they are getting closer and closer to reaching the shore.

But she simply couldn't take it anymore.

Just as she was unconsciously sinking down, two figures were swimming towards them.

"It's finally here."

"Hurry up, there are people over there."

The two, who had already noticed her disappearance, quickly met up to search for her, but unexpectedly, they discovered something amiss shortly after entering the water.

The two men used hand gestures and quickly discovered that the bloodstains originated from this spot.

"We've found him, let's go!"

Seeing that they were both in bad shape, they didn't care about pulling one of them up and swam directly upwards.

Wow~

One person was dragging the other pulling them out of the water.

"Comrade, wake up."

Is he still conscious?

Luo Yin vaguely heard these words, opened her eyelids to take a look, and then fainted.

"Quickly, save them!"

Darkness, cold, biting cold, and endless mud and sand!

This was the last thing Hossen saw before he died.

He didn't regret where he was buried, but he regretted not listening to Xia Mingjiang and expressing his feelings.

Now that he's gone, his unspoken words have become his last words.

Hosen thought to himself, but his body, which had been frozen into an ice block, began to slowly thaw.

The closed senses and limbs also began to warm up.

He feels like he's not dead.

His body found itself in a warm place. The man, who was forcing himself to stay awake, sensed something was wrong. When he opened his eyes, he saw a familiar yet unfamiliar ceiling.

At this moment, he was on a ventilator and had many instruments and equipment attached to his body.

Hossen immediately realized that he was still alive and had been rescued.

He wanted to ask about the follow-up results, and when he turned his eyes, he was noticed by the nurse next to him.

"Dr. Liu, the person in bed number seven has woken up."

"What?"

"My son is awake?"

A series of hurried yet steady footsteps came from the doorway.

Hossen's calm eyes held a hint of anxiety.

How are they doing? Is the mission complete? What happened next? Hossen went to get the ventilator, but was immediately stopped by the doctor who came in.

"Don't move, comrade. You've just woken up from your coma. We need to check you over carefully."

"Waaaaah, Old Huo's son has really woken up."

Qin Juan stood at the door, watching him open his eyes, and tears finally streamed down her face.

"She's awake, really awake."

"It's a miracle, it's practically the second miracle. Just half an hour ago, the comrade in bed eight who was brought in with him also woke up. After a thorough examination, they found no health problems. It's just that he has some hearing loss due to being bedridden for a long time."

"This is too difficult to explain scientifically."

After the doctor finished speaking, he received several burning gazes.

The doctor nodded, "A brief conversation is acceptable, but remember to keep it short and avoid upsetting the person."

"Okay, doctor, we will."

"Mom and Dad, how are the others?"

Before his parents could even cry and complain, Hossen simply removed the ventilator, his tone nonchalant.

"Hmph, you brat, Xiao Luo is awake. Didn't you hear it? He woke up half an hour ago. But speaking of which, you really do have the same taste as me, picking this good person right away."

Knowing that her son was puzzled, Qin Juan told him everything she had learned over the past few days.

The key point is that the young comrade disregarded the danger and repeatedly dived into the cold and dangerous pool to find him, and even almost perished in the pool with him!

“I overheard the nurse say that, in order to save you, the young girl didn’t hesitate to cut two long gashes on her arm.”
