Meeting parents

"She's the person I've been dating recently. Han Chae-young is a doctor."

Mother Lu immediately beamed with joy and stepped forward to take Han Caiying's hand, "My daughter. Let me see? Oh, she's really beautiful."

Han Chae-young was a little shy.

"Mom and Dad, Han Chae-young and I have already done 'that,' and we're thinking of getting our marriage certificate as soon as possible."

Hearing this, Mr. and Mrs. Lu were very happy. "Good! Not bad, son, you've finally agreed to get married. That Shen Zhixia has wasted five years of your youth, otherwise we would have had a grandson by now."

"Mom and Dad, could you please stop mentioning Shen Zhixia? She and I are both in the past. Besides, she's married now."

Lu Cheng gets angry whenever he mentions Shen Zhixia.

"Okay, let's not talk about it anymore. We're happy to see that you've let go of Shen Zhixia. You think Caiying is pretty good too."

At this point, Mr. and Mrs. Lu asked, "Caiying, where do you live? We'd like Lu Cheng to come to your house to propose marriage."

Han Chae-young thought to herself that her father was still in jail and her younger brother was in a nursing home.

If she were to reveal it, the Lu family would definitely not accept it.

She then made up a lie: "I am an orphan, without father or mother, and I grew up in an orphanage."

"Oh, how pitiful. It's alright, girl, you can treat this place as your own home from now on."

Han Chae-young nodded.

"Since Chae-young has no family, does that mean we can skip the marriage proposal altogether?"

While Mr. and Mrs. Lu were discussing the matter, Han Caiying quickly chimed in, "It's alright, Uncle and Aunt, just give me the betrothal money. Anyway, it's for both of us."

"This is a bit against the rules," Mr. and Mrs. Lu said, exchanging bewildered glances.

Hearing this, Lu Cheng frowned, thinking to himself, "This Han Caiying isn't stupid; she's quite shrewd."

He then advised, "Let's do as Han Caiying says, Mom and Dad, give Caiying all the betrothal gifts you are entitled to."

Lu Fu then took a large red envelope and handed it to Han Caiying.

"Caiying, here is a red envelope containing 666 yuan. It's your betrothal gift. Please take it."

"Thank you, Uncle."

Han Chae-young took the red envelope and carefully put it into her bag.

From now on, she will rely on this dowry money as a talisman.

After all, it's hard to say what her married life with Lu Cheng will be like in the future.

This dowry was her lifeline, her lifeline.
