Mission objective: 59/500
After seeing off the dazed owner of the farmhouse, Lin Zhou looked at the numbers that were far from the target, but he wasn't in a hurry.
Based on his experience of running a stall for so long, the longer you stay in one place, the better your business will be.
Experimentation reveals the truth!
Even though Lin Zhou had no experience in setting up a stall from the beginning.
After doing this for so long, I've gained some experience in setting up a stall.
The farm workers, who arrived a little late after get off work, looked puzzled as they stared at the empty glass cabinets, not a single roast duck in sight.
I can smell the aroma of roast duck, but I can't see any roast duck.
"The next batch of roast ducks will take another half an hour."
Lin Zhou gently pulled the roast duck out of the oven and showed it to the workers.
The oil dripped continuously from the duck skin as it roasted over the open flame in the oven. The skin wasn't quite the brownish-red of the finished product; instead, it had a more orange-yellow, sunset-like color.
"Okay, how much is it?"
"200 each."
Upon hearing the price, the workers nervously clutched their clothes, instantly calming down from the aroma of roast duck.
This roast duck is worth more than their daily wage; they're a little reluctant to spend the money.
Can I buy a quarter of it?
Upon hearing this, Lin Zhou immediately smiled and said, "Of course!"
His warm smile immediately put the awkward workers at ease.
They wouldn't spend 200 yuan on one, but buying a few dozen yuan's worth to try it out was no problem.
"I could smell the roast duck a long time ago, but I didn't have time to buy it until after I got off work."
"You bought your ducks from our farm, right? I remember I was the one who plucked them this morning."
Lin Zhou listened to the workers' words and replied with a smile, "That's right, you cleaned the duck feathers very well. I made roast duck directly when I got back."
Hearing Lin Zhou's praise, the workers blushed and waved their hands, "It's nothing, we cleaned it thoroughly, so you can eat it with peace of mind."
The ducks are all processed by them, so they feel more at ease eating them.
"Young boss, what time do you come to pick up the duck tomorrow? We'll process it for you first, making sure it's clean, the skin is intact, and there's not a single feather left."
Smelling the aroma of roast duck in the air, the workers chatted with Lin Zhou, their enthusiasm and generosity evident.
They quickly became familiar with it.
They practically wanted to pat their chests and say that the duck issue was in their hands, and they would definitely handle it perfectly.
Lin Zhou hadn't expected this good thing. "As long as it doesn't interfere with your business, I'll come to pick it up around eight or nine o'clock tomorrow morning."
"Do you want another hundred ducks?"
"Yes, kill a hundred first. After processing them, leave them here. I'll bring my own food and set up a stall to grill them, it'll be more convenient."
Lin Zhou thought about it carefully. He would take the ducks back to process them and then set up a stall. Otherwise, he would waste a whole day's time. He would set up a stall and roast the ducks on the spot, selling them fresh. That way, he wouldn't waste the daytime.
I set up my stall a little late today.
The hundred roast ducks we prepared will probably not sell out.
"That's fine, we'll prepare it for you in advance, you can bake it whenever you want."
The workers said they were fine with anything and very easy to talk to.
Lin Zhou smiled and chatted with them while waiting for the roast duck to be fully cooked.
After packing up the roast ducks he had ordered for the workers, he took the remaining ducks and packed up his stall.
It's past eight o'clock, it's already dark, and I reckon there's hardly anyone around.
The remaining dozen or so roast ducks were sent to Ziyuan Building as a perk for the employees on duty.
The staff on duty were overjoyed!
What an amazing boss! He sent over a dozen roast ducks!
"Waaaaah, I want to work for this boss for the rest of my life. Where can I find such a good boss? He pays me generously and even tempts me with food."
"There's too much, we can't finish it all. Let's quickly call the people who have finished work back to eat roast duck."
"I was thinking of having Da Dong ask the boss where we could set up a stall, but I never expected this!"
"The owner must have known I wanted to eat this, so he specially sent it over."
"Aww, the boss is so nice! It's so delicious, the roast duck is still warm! Where's Da Dong? Does he know how to slice roast duck?"
After seeing Lin Zhou off, the staff on duty gathered around the kitchen island, drooling over the row of roast ducks.
But the roast ducks are all whole, which left them a bit at a loss as to where to start.
"Has General Manager Huang left? If not, then Da Dong hasn't left either. Go and call him."
Before long, everyone on the top floor gathered in the kitchen, waiting to eat the roast duck.
Seeing that Da Dong was struggling to manage everything on his own, some people thought about hiring a chef. After all, the kitchen was already renovated, so they could turn it into a company cafeteria and save themselves from eating takeout every day.
"What do you think, boss?"
Huang Zhenghao nodded, thinking it was a good idea, but he needed to ask the boss's opinion first.
When Da Dong heard that they were hiring a chef, he panicked for a second while slicing the roast duck.
Looking at the colleague who made the suggestion with a shocked expression, as if to say, "I'm slicing up a roast duck for you, and you actually want to hire a chef to replace me?"
His colleagues were overjoyed when they caught his gaze.
“You’re not in charge of the kitchen; you’re supposed to be the boss’s assistant. You don’t have time to be in charge of the cafeteria’s food.”
When Da Dong heard that the chef wasn't there to replace his boss's lackey, he felt relieved.
Continue slicing the roast duck.
Fortunately, after working as an assistant to the boss, I specifically studied how to make roast duck; otherwise, I might not have been able to pick up a knife and start cooking right now.
His foresight proved to be correct.
He was determined to get the boss's number one lackey!
