Wow, it's a sesame seed cake!
"My grandpa gave me a dollar today to buy some sesame seed cakes, and I didn't expect to be able to eat them this morning!"
Two little girls were walking to school together. As soon as they reached the foot of the mountain, they saw a sesame seed cake oven emitting white smoke and immediately ran over excitedly.
Even the teachers standing to the side ignored it.
When I got closer and saw that there were teachers in the queue, I quickly greeted them.
When students arrive, since everyone is an adult, we naturally ask the children if they want to buy sesame cakes. If they do, we buy them first so they don't go hungry.
The two little girls had already eaten breakfast, and feeling somewhat awkward being watched by so many strangers, they huddled nervously next to the teacher.
"We've already eaten, teacher. Are there any more sesame seed cakes after school?"
The little girl who had money to buy sesame cakes answered the teacher first, and then looked at Lin Zhou to ask the question.
If it weren't for her strong craving for sesame seed cakes, the little girl wouldn't have dared to speak in front of so many unfamiliar adults.
But she had to beg her grandfather for a long time to get this one yuan.
She really wanted to try the sesame seed cakes that everyone at school was talking about.
The little girl looked at Lin Zhou with expectant eyes; who could resist that!
Lin Zhou is not an option either.
"I'll still be here at night, you'll see me after school."
The little girl was immediately delighted upon receiving the assurance.
The teachers gently told them to go to their classrooms first.
It's very cold outside.
The temperature is very low in the mountains in the morning and evening. Right now, the cold wind is howling. These children aren't dressed very warmly, but at least there's no wind in the classroom.
Seeing students arrive, Lin Zhou quickened the pace of rolling out the dough. Once it was baked, the flatbreads would come out of the oven very quickly.
Before long, the teachers and regular customers were all eating the sesame seed cakes.
As class time approached, the students gradually arrived.
Even with the teacher present, students still come to buy sesame seed cakes from the stall.
When Su Xiang came over, his eyes lit up when he saw Yang Ruoli in front of the stall.
God knows how surprised he was when he got home last night, took off his clothes to sleep, and found five hundred yuan in his hat.
He was so frightened that he immediately went to find his grandparents.
His grandparents were also startled, thinking he had found money somewhere.
After hearing Su Xiang's explanation, they realized that it was given by someone.
I was thinking of returning it to them.
Why pay so much money just to show me the way? This money is too hot to handle.
He was just thinking about how to pay back the money when he ran into someone!
Su Xiang went straight to Yang Ruoli and immediately asked for his money back.
The teacher happened to be nearby and, upon hearing this, asked what was going on.
Upon learning that it was a private matter between a student and a passerby, he, as a teacher, felt it was inappropriate to interfere.
Thus, the tug-of-war between Yang Ruoli and Su Xiang began again.
Grandpa Su was afraid the child would lose the money, so he put it away.
Su Xiang had no way to repay the money now, and all that fuss was for nothing. He could only wait until he got home from school that evening and call his grandfather to come and pay him back.
It's almost time for class, so I'll head to school now.
After most of the students had left.
The teachers remembered Lin Zhou's previous offer to donate money, and guessed he was a kind-hearted young man who wanted to help these children.
So they were invited to the school to help distribute winter supplies to the children.
"Mr. Lin, would you like to come along to distribute winter supplies to the children?"
"May I?"
Lin Zhou really wanted to know about the situation of these children in the mountainous areas.
After selling all the pancakes, I have nothing to do, so I can go into the school and see what the students need.
The diners had just noticed the children's situation as they watched them come to school from the mountains.
Although I've seen glimpses of the hardships faced by children in mountainous areas online, I've never witnessed it firsthand.
Seeing this now, I have so many feelings.
Seeing that it was open to visitors, the diners also wanted to go and take a look.
"Of course you can."
The teachers led Lin Zhou and the diners to the area on the playground where the supplies were stored, and then they unpacked them one by one.
Another teacher led the children out of the line and gave each of them an item.
Lin Zhou was given gloves.
The children were overjoyed to see the supplies, their faces beaming with smiles.
New clothes, new shoes, new socks, new gloves, and books.
These are all things that children need most to get through the winter.
Everyone had a satisfied smile on their face, as if receiving these things was already a very happy thing.
The diners felt a pang of sadness upon seeing this, realizing that in places they couldn't see, children in mountainous areas didn't even have clothes to wear for winter.
After distributing the supplies to the children, Lin Zhou still wanted to donate something to them.
"Teacher, I'd like to donate something to the children as a way of repaying them for supporting my business."
Lin Zhou looked at the teacher with a sincere expression.
Yang Ruoli, who was standing next to her, had the same idea.
"Teacher, I own a supermarket and have a lot of supplies. We're bringing some to the children as a token of our appreciation!"
Just as the teacher was about to refuse, she heard that Yang Ruoli's family owned a supermarket.
It's difficult to say no right away.
So the teacher chose to refuse Mr. Lin first.
“Boss Lin, it’s not easy for you to run a stall. You work from dawn till dusk. The sesame cakes are so delicious, yet you sell them so cheaply. You’re not making any money. Although the children are not well-off, they can still make a living.”
The teacher's words were very emotional.
There was emotion, a touch of embarrassment, but the tone was resolute.
The regular diners standing nearby listened to the teachers' words, their expressions growing increasingly strange.
ah?
Is this describing Boss Lin?
Why can't they understand?
The regular customers looked at the teacher, then at Boss Lin, and their expressions were very uncomfortable.
