Many seafood products are sold frozen, and frozen seafood is much cheaper than fresh seafood.
The workers were all doing almost the same thing, which was quite interesting to watch. One hand held down a large block of ice to prevent it from sliding or shifting, while the other hand held a wooden hammer bigger than their heads, which they used to smash the ice block repeatedly.
