Chapter 10: Is she your girlfriend? The meal ended with sweetness...

When the meal was over and dessert was served, Gobi left the table first to go to the restroom, and Kaka followed him. It was unclear what the two of them said to each other, avoiding Rosalia. They were gone for quite a while, so long that she couldn't help but drag the small cake in front of Gobi over and devour it.

The pale yellow butter, paired with the soft dough, gave off a refreshing lemony aroma. Rosalia was so engrossed in her food that she almost felt the urge to hire Kaka's chef back. Apparently, the saltiness of the meal wasn't his typical flavor; it was the heavy flavors of Brazilian cuisine.

Rosalia had just swallowed the last bite of cake when Kaka returned. Seeing the two empty dessert plates on the table, his eyes lit up and he leaned over to ask, "Delicious, right? The first time I ate at a restaurant in Italy, I had lemon cake for dessert. That's when I decided I wanted to play football for AC Milan."

Rosalia held the spoon in her mouth, her bright eyes sliding down Kaka's broad shoulders to his looming waist and abdomen. Her eyelashes trembled, and all the unspoken words were contained in her watery eyes.

Seeing this, Kaka felt warm in his heart, and he couldn't help puffing up his face and pretending to be angry: "Do you also think I should lose weight?"

Rosalia shook her head and stared at his arm. "I wonder how much compensation I'd get if you punched me."

"I'll give myself to you!"

The two of them only exchanged a few words and the atmosphere was just right.

Kaka wanted to ask her if she'd be willing to be his neighbor, or even live in his house. But he hesitated. Although they kept in touch, their relationship wasn't just ordinary. Outsiders knew there was something going on between them. Inzaghi even approached him in the locker room, guiding him on how to text Rosalia to invite her to the game and sit in the family section. He then asked, with a smile, when he planned to introduce his girlfriend to everyone.

But they just haven't confirmed their relationship yet.

This was his first time pursuing a woman, and with no experience, he wasn't sure when to move on to the next stage. Furthermore, as a Christian, he hoped for a stable, long-term relationship and the prospect of marriage. He didn't know what Rosalia was thinking. He wanted to ask, but he didn't dare to speak up, as they had only known each other for a short time.

In fact, Rosalia didn't think too much about it. She was a person who took things one step at a time, especially in life.

Her family nurtured her carefree personality from a young age. She was the eldest daughter, with a younger brother and a younger sister. Her younger brother, two years her junior, had loved taking photos since childhood and, as an adult, was determined to become a nature documentarian. Following her family's instructions, she earned her university diploma and, the next day, grabbed her passport, leaving behind no suitcase, headed straight for the African savannah to photograph lions.

It stands to reason that with such an unreliable brother, she, as the eldest sister, should be more reliable, after all, she has a younger sister. The younger sister and the second brother are twins, and they have been fighting since they were young. Although they are jealous of each other when they meet, there is only one word for their sister - spoil!

From a young age, the younger sister displayed exceptional business acumen, making her clueless younger brother and her older sister, obsessed with Sherlock Holmes, look even more insignificant. Seeing that there was a successor, their father, regardless of his eldest daughter or himself, happily paved the way for his youngest daughter. After graduating from college and handing over the company, he took his wife on a world tour.

Rosalia, wealthy, free, beautiful, and capable, found her job easy. She happily chose to study Criminal Investigation and Security Criminology at the University of Bologna and started working immediately after graduation. In Italy, it's rare for wealthy families to choose a youngest daughter over their eldest daughter and son to inherit the family business. Initially, there was much discussion in her circle, suggesting Rosalia wasn't ambitious, but who cared what those second-generation Milanese thought? Now, she was lucky it didn't fall into her hands.

Rosalia had always disliked hanging out with that crowd. Aside from Rita, who was her childhood friend, the others were all just familiar faces to Rosalia. Because of this, her male companions, while not often, changed, but only in stages: one in middle school, one in college, and one when she started working.

Just when I was preparing for a promotion, Kaka came.

Rosalia did whatever she thought of, without caring whether it was a suitable place or atmosphere. Just as she was about to ask Kaka to confirm the relationship, she was interrupted.

Goby came like a tornado, rolled up his coat that was draped over the back of the chair, and tucked something in his arms. Without even looking at Rosalia, he walked out with his phone in one hand, saying loudly, "Hello? Hey! Grayson? Okay, okay, I'll be right back!" Without even turning his head, he said to Rosalia with the back of his head, "I have something to do at the office, so I'll be leaving first. You two can eat slowly, and then go on a date. I'll finish the work for you!"

She didn't believe he was so kind. She narrowed her eyes as she watched Goby scurry out like a thief, not caring how few people were around and where a taxi would take him back to the city center. Furthermore, Rosalia noticed the curled-up object in his arms, a corner of it exposed. The red and black stripes looked very familiar, and she turned her gaze to Kaka.

"He seems to be in a hurry. It seems that we can only slowly enjoy this hearty lunch and the bright afternoon sunshine."

Kaka's face was full of regret, and he spread his hands, feeling a little sorry for Gobi.

"Yeah, what a shame."

Rosalia glanced at him sideways, not revealing his intentions. It was clear that they had just made a deal while going to the bathroom. In exchange for the signed AC Milan jersey Gobi had always wanted, he'd leave early, giving them some private time. Lunch was already finished, even the greens Kaka had complained about had been devoured by him, leaving the bowl completely empty. How could it possibly be considered a hearty lunch?

She swallowed back what she was about to say. Although Gobi's appearance was sudden, it made her reconsider their relationship. Rosalia always believed in fate. Just as Kaka's appearance coincided with a new stage in her career, Gobi's interruption also indicated that now was not a good time.

"Let's go bask in the sun. I'm a little sleepy," said Rosalia.

"Okay! I just bought a new recliner and put it in front of the floor-to-ceiling window in the living room. It will be warm in the sun, and you will definitely like it!" Kaka had no idea that the romantic relationship he wanted had almost come true, but he failed at his own hands. If he knew, he would definitely regret it. He would run to the street to chase Goby back and stuff him back into the bathroom, letting him hold the team jersey and admire it, and never let him come out.

The two of them returned to the living room. Rosalia lazily swayed in the recliner, her mind swaying slightly from side to side, the sunlight illuminating her, her eyes fluttering shut. Kaka, enjoying the quiet and beautiful atmosphere they shared, felt it mirrored his vision of married life. He too leaned back in the recliner, hugging a cartoon pillow that was clearly a match for Rosalia's, and closed his eyes.

Time passed slowly, and in the blink of an eye it was time for him to train. As soon as the alarm clock vibrated, Kaka quickly pressed the button and glanced at Rosalia cautiously, afraid that she would be woken up.

But Rosalia's reaction was quicker. She opened her eyes the moment the alarm vibrated, her gaze sharp as if she'd never slept before. Her hand reached for her lower back, instinctively reaching for the weapon she'd been wearing. Finding nothing, she remembered she'd changed her workplace and was at Kaka's house. When she opened her eyes again, they softened. She stretched, relaxing her shoulders and neck, then asked Kaka, "Is it time? Shall I take you to Milanello?"

Kaka was brainstorming, trying to come up with a good excuse to get Rosalia to take him to training, saying he didn't have a car, and then have her pick him up after training so they could enjoy a nice dinner together. He was trying to decide whether to say his car broke down or that he was out of gas, but he couldn't think of a solution. He couldn't have all the cars in the garage broken down or out of gas. Unexpectedly, Rosalia spoke first, offering to take him!

We really have a good understanding, Kaka thought happily.

When Kaka packed her bag and changed into her tracksuit and reappeared before Rosalia, her eyes lit up. Whether it was casual wear, tracksuits, or even formal attire she hadn't seen in person but had seen online, Kaka could pull it off perfectly, a true clothes hanger. If her designer mother saw her, she'd probably enthusiastically invite her to stay at her house for ten days or half a month to satisfy her burgeoning desire to design, even though her designs were always so... unsatisfactory and breathtaking.

"How come you look so good in everything you wear." Rosalia couldn't help but sigh.

"As long as you like it," Kaka suppressed his lips, carrying his bag in one hand and holding her in the other as they walked towards the car, showing his white teeth where she couldn't see, "Next time they send clothes, I'll pick out some suitable women's clothing for you."

Rosalia drove Kaka to Milanello and parked the car outside the gate. Perhaps because the match was the day after tomorrow, and the fans knew everyone was rushing to train, they had tacitly agreed not to come here these past two days to avoid disturbing them. Therefore, the place was particularly quiet today, and Kaka stayed in the car for a while longer.

"You'll pick me up after training, right?" Kaka blinked, his naturally curled eyelashes fluttering, making him look particularly innocent. "This place is too far from the city center. No taxi is willing to come."

Rosalia's eyes fell on the bus stop sign outside the car window behind him, and then she looked at the cars rushing by on the road. She was kind enough not to expose him. She touched his soft hair and said, "Okay, I'll pick you up and we'll go eat together."

“Ding Di——”

Suddenly, a horn sounded. Kaka lowered the window and stuck his head out to see. Just then, he saw Maldini also sticking his head out. He originally wanted to see who was blocking the door and not going in, but he didn't see that the guards were all looking around and getting ready to come over.

Unexpectedly, the little head that popped out was his own little sweetheart. Maldini waved to Kaka: "Ricky, why don't you go in? Come here, I'll take you."

Kaka was disappointed that he could not be alone with Rosalia for a while, but they had agreed to have dinner together in the evening, so he was full of energy again. He leaned over and gave her a tight hug, like a child leaving home for school: "See you in the afternoon, Leah." After that, he skipped to the back of the car, opened the passenger door and sat in, holding his little chicken hand and chattering something to Maldini.

When Rosalia turned the car around, she happened to meet Maldini's car. The two looked at each other through the windshield, nodded to each other, and then one drove out and the other drove in.

"Don't look, the car is gone." Maldini said jokingly, stopping Kaka from opening the window and leaning out. "Be careful! She's your girlfriend, the smart policeman?"

"It's her, Rosalia." Kaka no longer felt shy in front of Rosalia. He praised her naturally. "She is the smartest and most capable police officer I have ever met."

He did not deny the girlfriend that Maldini mentioned, and tacitly acknowledged their relationship. In Kaka's mind, this was a must-have.

[Rose] Thank you for your comments, irrigation and thunder, mumumu

I will resume daily updates this weekend. Actually, sometimes I do update daily, but the update is too late and it will be the next day after the review.

Hopefully, it will be approved by TT today, which will be on Tuesday.

I'm starting to work hard on my drafts. Will it feel a bit watery these past two days? I felt like I was rushing the plot too much before.
