Chapter 9

Zhou Liran could probably understand why the opposing forward had this expression. The opponent must have thought that his ball was bound to go in, but he never expected that it would be blocked by him, a little-known goalkeeper. He couldn't accept it for a while so he looked a little dazed.

However, understanding is one thing, but in order to prevent the opponent from seizing the opportunity to score in the last two minutes, Zhou Liran still silently moved a few steps towards the opponent's forward position, making sure that his sight was on the football in the frontcourt one second and could quickly move to the opponent's forward the next second, always ensuring that he did not make mistakes and did not allow the opponent to turn the tables. No... now he should not give the opponent a chance to score.

Although the contract did not stipulate that the seven goals had to be scored consecutively and the opponent could not be allowed to score in between, it was impossible for the opponent to score three goals in a row with only two minutes left in the game, and there was no chance of tying the score. He could have relaxed and not been so tense - but then again, there were only less than two minutes left for him to accomplish the achievement of shutting out the opponent, and the coach's previous promise that he could apply for a better contract if he kept a few shutouts could be put on the agenda sooner.

Just two minutes, and he can still hold on!

"It was only two minutes, and the goalkeeper on the other side was still standing there staring at me, as if he was afraid that I would turn into a football and fly into the goal in the next second." Pritt Hope pounded the seat next to him, his anger burning very strongly. "What was the name of the goalkeeper on the other side? I think he was Chinese. Did this guy secretly practice during his vacation? He has become so good after two months? He shut out Birmingham City?"

"I think his name is Endrit Carter," Pete Quick, who was sitting next to him, quickly recalled and answered Pritt, then tilted his head in confusion, "I have a question, didn't Chelsea U18 have the ball in the last two minutes? Why was Endrit still staring at you?"

"Yeah, who knows why this guy is still staring at me like that, I really..." Pritt took a deep breath, his face flushed, "You don't know how outrageous Endrit is even in the backcourt, I hit him in the face with two high balls, but he didn't react at all!

"You know how strong I am, but this guy wasn't even injured, and his expression didn't even change! I was standing there, and I felt... How should I put it? It was just a complicated feeling. Can you understand how I felt?"

Pete Quick couldn't understand, but he still patted Pritt's shoulder very skillfully and began to soothe him, "I understand, I understand. That Endrit is really too outrageous..."

Zhou Liran had no idea how much psychological trauma he had brought to the opposing forward. He did not shift his attention away from the opposing forward until the referee blew the final whistle. Then he happily returned to the locker room and took out his little notebook to write down the five goals he had successfully saved in this game - he was only two goals away from winning one hundred pounds!

…………

The Times: Chelsea youth team defeated Birmingham City youth team 3:0. British teenager Coker scored twice, performing a miracle on the field!

A thrilling victory did create a little splash, but the splash was not big and was almost wiped away by a hand. Among the more well-known newspapers, the only one that reported on this game was the Times, and the focus of the report was only on Coker's two goals. Zhou Liran was only mentioned at the end of the article: the goalkeeper played well.

Yes, that’s right, Zhou Liran didn’t even have his name in the newspaper.

This kind of thing is completely predictable. After all, for a striker to become famous throughout the UK, one goal is enough, but for a goalkeeper who wants to have a name and become famous throughout the UK as a British Chinese, he has to work harder.

So Zhou Liran was not depressed, nor did he take the fact that he was reported by the media as a benchmark of his success. But when head coach Ben Valen came to comfort him because of this matter and told him that he was great and that one day all the media would regret not reporting him today, Zhou Liran cooperated and lowered his head, and his eyes slowly turned red.

"I understand, coach." Zhou Liran slowly raised his head and clenched his fists as he spoke of his great ambition. "I will make them regret it, because I will be an excellent goalkeeper who will shut out all opponents."

"That's right," Ben Valen breathed a sigh of relief and nodded with a smile, "You will be the best goalkeeper in the history of our Chelsea U18 team."

Zhou Liran nodded vigorously.

"I think within a season, you can play for the home team. You know our home team is also in need of a goalkeeper."

Zhou Liran continued to nod vigorously.

"Believe me," Ben Valen patted Zhou Liran on the shoulder, "one day your name will be known all over the world."

Zhou Liran continued to nod...wait a minute? His name?

"My, name? What?" Zhou Liran's heart was beating fast as he said this, and the bad feeling in his heart became stronger and stronger. "Why didn't I know I had a name?"

"Isn't he the Iron-faced Superman?" Ben Valen chuckled. "You know what, the title is quite appropriate. The trophy is also very beautiful, but it's a pity that it's made of glass. How about this, if you can keep your opponents scoreless in the next games, I will ask Arnesen to make you a new gold-plated one. What do you think?"

"Iron-faced Superman?" Zhou Liran's brain was about to stop thinking, "And he is famous all over the world?"

"No, coach! I don't agree with this title at all! I don't want to be called that!"

He would rather publicly admit to the media that his father was Ultraman who turned into light and flew away, leaving him, Endrit, to play football in the world... Damn it! Don't let him find out who came up with this crappy name first!
