"Boss, don't rush off!"
Hearing the hurried sound behind him, Li Shiguang, who was carrying a tactical splint and walking towards the training field, stopped and turned around to see Allen rushing towards him with a stack of papers in his hand.
Reaching out to stop Allen, who seemed about to rush ahead, Li Shiguang smiled and looked at him: "Hey, hey, hey... what's the rush so early in the morning? What's the matter?"
First, he handed the paper in his hand to Li Shiguang, then wiped the sweat from his forehead before speaking: "Boss, this is Ron's latest scouting report from last month. There's a Tottenham kid in it that he thinks is worth buying, and he asked me to remind you to take a look."
After casually flipping through a few pages of the scouting report in his hand, Li Shiguang looked up at Allen again with some surprise: "Tottenham? Okay, I'll take a look when I have time! But it's just a kid, why are you in such a hurry?"
“Oh, there are two more things!” Allen shook his head and began to explain, “I just received a call from Chen. He said that a Chinese reporter named Yu Tian wants to do an exclusive interview with you.”
"Chen Guanhai? Yu Tian?"
Li Shiguang suddenly remembered Yu Tian, a reporter from China's Sports Weekly, who had asked him a question at the last press conference.
Why is this Chinese journalist doing an exclusive interview with me? My identity is that of a British Chinese! And they even approached Chen Guanhai?
After frowning and thinking for a while, Li Shiguang decided to ask Chen Guanhai what the situation was first.
"You don't need to worry about this. I'll call Chen Guanhai myself and ask him about it when I have time!"
With a wave of his hand, Li Shiguang turned around and pretended to leave.
"Don't panic, boss, there are two more things!" But Allen immediately stopped him again.
"Huh? So much work right after starting work? Tell me quickly, I'm in a hurry to get to training!"
"Boss, those two young midfielders you told us we had to sign, after so much back and forth, both clubs have finally agreed. However, their asking price is a bit beyond what you initially set!"
Damn, this is great news!
Li Shiguang's eyes lit up. Finally, he could buy Kroos and Casemiro to Leeds United!
In fact, Leeds United started making offers to São Paulo and Bayern Munich for these two players last year, but neither club has budged. Bayern Munich, in particular, even after bringing Hummels to Leeds United, still refused to sell Kroos to them!
So he eagerly asked Allen, "How many do they want? It's just two youth academy players, it can't be that many, can it?"
"São Paulo is alright, they only want 3 million euros. What's outrageous is Bayern Munich, they want 6 million euros!" Allen said helplessly.
Holy crap? Beckenbauer has become so shameless? He dares to sell a player who just turned 17 for 6 million?! Although Leeds United is not short of money, Li Shiguang himself runs a black market, and he is still being ripped off when it comes to buying players, which makes him a little uncomfortable.
He secretly thought to himself, "Thirty years east of the river, thirty years west of the river. Beckenbauer, when you old man want to bring Lahm back to Munich in the future, don't blame me for asking for an exorbitant price."
Li Shiguang finally relented: "Alright, this is the price. Ron will sign the contract in Brazil, and you'll have to do the work of flying to Munich for Germany."
"No problem, I'll go reply to them."
"Also! Send Miguel a copy of the two kids' information and tell him that I'll be loaning them to Real Sociedad this summer. He doesn't need to worry about the fees; we'll cover them all. But I have one condition: we need to guarantee them playing time next season!"

After lunch, Li Shiguang took Simone back to the office.
After handing the scouting report Allen had given him that morning to Simeone, Li Shiguang took out his phone and called Chen Guanhai.
Not long after, the call connected. Judging from his voice, Chen Guanhai was probably having lunch. After a few swallowing sounds, the guy greeted Li Shiguang: "Brother Li, have you eaten yet?"
"Just finished eating."
"Is there anything you need to tell me, little brother?"
"You're still asking me? Didn't you call Allen this morning and say someone wanted to do an interview with me?"
"Yes, yes, that's right. Brother Li, what do you say? Do you have time?"
Seeing that Chen Guanhai didn't seem to care much about the matter, Li Shiguang became even more suspicious.
There was one thing he couldn't understand: how did the reporter know that Chen Guanhai knew him?
Like Chelsea, Leeds United is 100% privatized. Only four people knew that Chen Guanhai held some shares in Leeds United: himself, Allen, Chen Guanhai, and his father.
To avoid unnecessary trouble, Li Shiguang made it very clear when signing the contract that the Chen family could not disclose that they had purchased a portion of Leeds United's shares, and that he would have the absolute right of first refusal if they ever wanted to withdraw their investment!
When this Chinese journalist suddenly approached Chen Guanhai to act as an intermediary, Li Shiguang's first thought was that Chen Guanhai had been drinking too much and was talking nonsense, which this person overheard.
So he frowned and asked, "How does this reporter named Yu Tian know that you know me? And how did you two meet?"
“I met Yu Tian through Lao Chen.” Chen Guanhai seemed to realize something was off about Li Shiguang’s words, so he quickly explained, “After Lao Chen went back, he was busy organizing Leeds United’s China tour this summer. He has some connections in the domestic sports world, so he asked Yu Tian’s boss for help with publicity. The leaders of Sports Weekly heard from Lao Chen that you and I are friends, so they asked Lao Chen for my phone number and wanted me to act as an intermediary to ask if you could accept an exclusive interview with them. This Yu Tian is just their reporter stationed in Europe, not some special person.”
"Damn, I see!"
"Hehehe, Brother Li, don't worry. I know you don't want to get involved with those idiots in the Chinese Football Association. I've already investigated this person's background, and it's clean! But then again, if you want to lead the team to China to make money this summer, you'll have to get past this hurdle no matter what!"
Li Shiguang knew that Chen Guanhai was right, that made sense, but it would be best if Old Chen could handle everything and he could just quietly make money and leave!
The two chatted for a while longer, but Li Shiguang ultimately declined Yu Tian's request for an exclusive interview.
But just as he hung up the phone, Simone handed him a piece of paper and asked, "Boss, is this kid the one Ron was referring to as a key person to watch out for?"
