Chapter 7 Wan, you can take him away!

As soon as Howard returned to the locker room, before he could even celebrate the victory with his teammates, his phone rang in the locker.

As soon as the call connected, he heard his agent's voice on the other end: "Timothy, come out for a moment, someone wants to see you."

Howard, holding the phone, had just stepped out of the locker room when he saw his agent waving at him from around the corner. He hung up the phone and walked over.

Turning the corner, I saw the white-bearded old man standing next to the agent, and it seemed like I had seen him somewhere before.

Seeing Howard approach, Bates smiled and extended his right hand in greeting: "Hi, Timothy, I'm Ken Bates, nice to meet you."

Upon hearing the old man's self-introduction, Howard suddenly realized that the old man was Bates, the former owner of Chelsea.

I had seen him from afar when I went to Stanford Bridge for a competition before, no wonder he looked a little familiar just now.

But what did he want from me?

Howard asked with a puzzled look, "It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Bates. May I ask what brings you here... um...?"

He was in the locker room, about to change his clothes, when he received a call from his agent, so he came out shirtless.

Bates sized up Howard.

He's beaming right now, probably because he won the game.

His well-defined muscles show that he is a player with high professional standards.

Most importantly.

There are less than 5 minutes left in the game, and his mental state is nothing like that of a player who has just finished a high-intensity match.

It's worth noting that Leeds United scored two goals through quick counter-attacks today; for most of the rest of the game, they were under pressure from Gillingham. Howard made a large number of saves throughout the match.

When he came in, he saw the Gillingham players, and the Gillingham goalkeeper was already panting heavily!

Bates' eyes lit up when he saw Howard in such good spirits.

It seems that Howard did not waste this summer. Although his position at Manchester United is precarious, he did not tank and has continued to train rigorously.

It has to be said that Li Shiguang is really lucky; he inexplicably stumbled upon a huge windfall.

But it's okay, this huge bargain will be mine soon!

Bates has made up his mind that once he gets back, he will arrange for his staff to first talk to Howard's agent about a personal contract. Once an agreement is reached with the player, he will immediately make an offer to Li Shiguang, determined to bring Howard to West Bromwich Albion this winter transfer window no matter what.

Keep in mind that Howard is currently playing in the Championship. I don't believe he can resist the temptation to return to the Premier League. After all, the season is still long, and it's still uncertain whether Leeds United can be promoted.

As for Leeds United, if their performance plummets after losing Howard, then he can make a move to buy them at a bargain price!

Bates could already picture Li Shiguang's furious expression when he found out that Howard had been poached by him.

Hmph, even your father couldn't pull Leeds United out of the mire, and you think you can? Just wait for me to hollow out your team.

Thinking of this, Bates stroked his beard smugly, his smile growing even brighter, and said to Howard, "Nothing special, Timothy. You had a fantastic day. I'd like to get to know you; maybe we'll have a chance to work together in the future."

However, what he didn't know was that just as he was greeting Howard, Li Shiguang, who was rushing to the locker room to celebrate the victory with the players, saw him.

Li Shiguang did not go up to stop him and Howard from talking, but instead quietly watched Bates from the other side.

The old man and Howard seemed to be getting happier and happier as they chatted.

He knew.

The fish must have taken the bait!

Now it's time for me to take charge!

That old fox, just wait and see if I don't seduce you into a cuckold's cunning!

"Oh! Mr. Li, so you're here today too. Are you here to oversee the operation?"

Li Shiguang was about to go up and say hello to Bates.

Suddenly a loud voice came from behind him. He turned around and saw a large group of reporters surging towards the locker room. The reporter at the front was the same one who had interviewed him last week.

Then a dozen more microphones were placed in front of him.

"Congratulations, Mr. Li, Leeds United have won another victory. Can you tell us how you feel right now?"

"Mr. Li, Leeds United played exceptionally well today!"

"Mr. Li, Howard delivered another world-class performance today. The winter transfer window is less than four months away. If other teams make offers for him, would you accept them?"

"Mr. Li, actually, everyone has a question. We all know that Howard's performance was not very consistent when he was at Manchester United. Under such circumstances, what made you insist on bringing him in?"

"Yes, we all know that Leeds United's current financial situation is not very optimistic. Timothy was the first deal you handled after taking over the club. What were your considerations at the time?"

These reporters didn't give Li Shiguang much time to react; in an instant, four or five questions were bombarded at him. Everyone wanted to know how Li Shiguang would evaluate his deal.

Hearing the reporters ask this question, Li Shiguang couldn't help but sigh at his good luck. Wasn't this like a pillow for someone who was sleepy?

He turned slightly toward Bates so that the old fox could see the smile on his face.
