Chapter 48

Chapter 48

Lunch was a self-service buffet, with people from both teams eating together.

The restaurant is not big, but when the two teams rushed into the restaurant together, it instantly became crowded and lively.

Before the meal, the fitness coach proudly mentioned that their restaurant benefits are among the best among all training bases. It is nutritious, healthy and delicious. Some people outside the training base even buy meal tickets to come in and have a free meal.

The fitness coach recommended several signature dishes to them, such as cod fish cakes.

"You guys find a seat, I'll get you food." Nesta nodded slightly to his teammates, and squeezed to the best forward line for getting food.

Maldini and his group were not surprised by this, so they occupied two long tables in the front and back rows, while Manchester United's main players occupied the two long tables next to them.

Kaka and Cristiano were still the last ones to come in the crowd. They spent too much time relaxing their muscles and going to the locker room, so when they came in, everyone else had almost got their meals.

The two looked at the seats of their respective teams and chose the same row of long tables without a doubt - although the long tables in the restaurant were separate, the seats were a row of extra-long sofas connected together, so they were sitting at the same table.

Keane glanced at Cristiano, who had consciously joined them at the table, craning his neck to look for something to eat: "I'm starving."

"Get your own food," Giggs said jokingly. "We don't have anything left for you."

"Well, how cruel." Cristiano curled his lips. He clearly saw several whole cod fish cakes on the table, but since Giggs said so, he had to run to get the meal with a downcast face.

Ferdinand glanced at Giggs and asked him, "Are you going to take these extra fish cakes as a midnight snack?"

"I'd love to." Giggs snorted.

If Cristiano really couldn't get it, he would have passed it on reluctantly. Who told their boy to be so obsessed with hanging out with No. 22 next to him that he fell so far behind?

"Also, it can be used as afternoon tea," Giggs said. "I don't eat midnight snacks."

Ferdinand sneered.

After Kaka sat down, he was served a wide variety of ready-made meals.

"I've saved it for you," said Martini.

Kaka smiled gratefully at his teammates. When he saw Cristiano getting up to get his meal, he asked, "Thank you. Is there anything else you want? I'll get you some."

Upon hearing this, Maldini glanced at the back of No. 7 who had just run past, then looked at the dazzling array of trophies on their long table - Nesta's trophies - and he silently glanced at Kaka.

Kaka paused, and he added in time: "Maybe you want to drink something?"

"I think I have to drink something." Inzaghi leaned back on the sofa and smiled meaningfully. He said, "Oh God, can I ask the Son of God to bring me a glass of ice water?"

Kaka raised his eyebrows and looked at Inzaghi. Before he could ask anything, Shevchenko on the side followed up with a joke: "Dear Filippo, be brief and to the point, otherwise Kaka will not be able to catch up with the boy. Kaka, please bring me a glass of sparkling water, thank you."

Cafu let out a hearty laugh.

Kaka: “…”

Great, he was sure his teammates knew something, he just didn't know how far they knew.

He gave his teammates a helpless smile, stood up and said, "Okay, ice water, sparkling water, got it."

Cristiano walked around the food cart with his plate and he had to admit that they had indeed arrived too late. Those bastards had swept up all the food like a swarm of locusts, leaving him with very few choices.

Kaka quickly came over empty-handed and saw Cristiano's almost empty plate with only some vegetables on it.

He glanced at the empty dining table again and felt a little guilty. He believed that at least 30% of the empty table was due to Nesta.

"I left a portion for you. Let's eat it together." Kaka pinched Cristiano's neck and said, "Didn't Ferdinand and the others leave any for you?"

"Okay, I'll take yours." Cristiano said immediately. "Who knows about them? I guess they didn't get anything. Apart from being able to fight hard on the court, they remain elegant until death off the court."

Kaka paused. He was a little skeptical about the second half of the sentence, but as for the first half, he had to think back to the rich dishes on their table and admit that it was most likely correct.

"Come on." Kaka took Cristiano back to them.

Manchester United's main players then watched helplessly as their mascot was dragged to Milan's dining table.

Giggs: ? ? ?

Kaka piled the food from his plate onto Cristiano's: "Here's the cod you like."

Cristiano smiled at Kaka generously: "Oh yes, that's right, I was just staring at it, great!"

Ferdinand heard their boy say this and his eyes darted towards Giggs.

Giggs: “…”

Damn it.

Milan's main players expressed a warm welcome to the unexpected extra-staff member who came to eat for free, and kindly shared their lunch with Cristiano.

"I think this broccoli with chicken sauce is great, would you like some, kid?" Martini asked gently.

Cristiano blinked, somewhat surprised and somewhat flattered. He looked over - to be honest, he didn't have a chance to observe this outstanding captain carefully during the first two meetings - and found that Maldini had a pair of very beautiful eyes. He couldn't help but said, "Oh, thank you. I like them very much. By the way, has anyone told you that you have beautiful eyes? What a rare color."

Cristiano's eyes are brown with a hint of green, which refract into a more transparent glass color under the sun. He has always been proud of his beautiful eye color, but some careless media always like to simply and roughly summarize it as ordinary brown.

Perhaps because of this, Cristiano always pays more attention to his eyes.

Maldini paused, then noticed Kaka looking at him with a smile, and he thanked him with a smile: "Thank you."

"You're welcome." Cristiano curled his eyes. He was enjoying his meal at the long table in Milan.

After the pleasant lunch, Cristiano returned to his team.

Shevchenko looked at the boy who was surrounded by the older brothers as soon as he returned to the team. He retracted his gaze and turned to Kaka, and said thoughtfully: "...So, dear Mr. Ricardo Leite, where is my sparkling water?"

"And my ice water." Inzaghi followed suit, jokingly saying, "I knew I couldn't expect the Son of God to bring me a glass of ice water. The Son of God has more important things to do."

Kaka then remembered that he had promised his teammates to bring back drinks. He had indeed forgotten about his teammates after seeing Chris's empty plate. He couldn't help but smile apologetically: "Next time."

After Cristiano returned to his team, he received a lot of "enthusiastic" attention from the team.

"You should be thankful that the boss is not here and didn't see you defect to the long table opposite!" Rooney said.

Cristiano said, "Hey!" "That's because I have nothing to eat!"

"Isn't it because you and the Milan kid across the street took so long to enter the restaurant?" Neville asked back.

Cristiano: "...but they left food for Kaka! What about you?"

Van Nistelrooy couldn't help but pinch Cristiano's soft face and narrowed his eyes slightly: "Heartless guy, that's because they have Nesta."

"And your cod." Giggs snorted and stuffed a few pieces of packaged cod into Cristiano's arms.

Cristiano took the packed lunch box, raised his eyebrows, turned around and gave Giggs a big hug: "Give it to me earlier, thank you, I knew you would definitely leave some for me. But I think I can't just eat ours, theirs will be wasted, this is a strategy."

Giggs thought the boy's subsequent compensation was far-fetched, but he reluctantly accepted it.

Ferdinand pointed out bluntly: "But I see you are having a great time eating there."

"Enjoy your food, Leo," Cristiano bared his teeth.

Ferdinand made an ambiguous nasal sound.

Lunch break is from 1 to 3 p.m., physical training is from 3 to 7 p.m., followed by dinner, and then a one-hour skills training at 9 p.m.

This is basically the arrangement of a day at the training base, which is very fulfilling. They spend no more than ten hours in the dormitory, which is very friendly to Gattuso.

God knows why, but when his roommate saw him during the lunch break in the afternoon, his aura changed, making him feel like he had to have a fight right away to solve the problem.

Oh well, he might know the reason, but he was 100% sure that it wasn't him his roommate should be looking for!

Of course, they didn't fight in the end because he found an excuse in time and ran to Costa's dormitory next door.

"Hi Rui, I'm coming over for a while, my roommate looks a little grumpy." Gattuso was relieved to see his familiar teammates.

Costa showed great welcome and enthusiasm when he saw Gattuso. He grabbed Gattuso and pressed him tightly on the seat: "Great, welcome, you can stay as long as you want."

Gattuso paused, then realized who Costa's roommate was.

Gattuso: "… Rui, I advise you to let me go now."

"I'm here now." Costa smiled.

His roommate walked in.

Keane noticed Gattuso's presence in the room. He nodded slightly without making any expression, being quite friendly towards this Milan player who had leaked a lot of information to Ferdinand.

"Please feel free." The Manchester United captain took a book and sat on the sofa, saying to Gattuso and Costa.

Gattuso scratched his neck uncomfortably and signaled to Costa with his eyes: Is he always like this?

Costa: Always? If you mean the last 24 hours, pretty much.

Gattuso expressed his sincere envy of Costa.

"Okay, let's talk about this." Keane suddenly said. He closed the book and looked at the two Milan players who were exchanging glances in front of him with great joy. "Your Kaka, a devout Christian? But he put his hands on our Ronnie? What was he thinking?"

Gattuso: “…”

Costa: “…”
