Chapter 58
Cristiano took a long time to calm down. His temples were throbbing from crying too much, and his eyelids and cheeks were so red that it looked like he had put on a layer of blush.
He wiped his face embarrassedly, looked at Simone and Bosco, lowered his voice and asked quietly: "Can I be alone for a while?"
Simone was almost heartbroken by the crying curly-haired boy in front of her. She leaned over and hugged Chris again, and said softly: "Of course, but are you sure you're okay?"
God knows she was almost terrified when she saw Cristiano just now.
When Cristiano cried, it was quiet, much like her son.
But Cristiano's expression was more vivid. His beautiful facial features were twisted together as if they were about to break. He pouted his lips, blinked his eyes uncontrollably, and tears fell so quickly that his curved eyelashes were wet and filled with tears.
She wanted to hold Chris's face and comfort him, but Cristiano pursed his lips stubbornly and didn't cry at all, which made her feel that her comfort would shatter the strong mask that the boy had forced himself to maintain.
Simeone was rarely at a loss. She regretted that in her rush to make Cristiano believe in Kaka's persistence and determination, she inadvertently revealed those secrets that Cristiano did not know, but she really did not mean to.
She just didn't know how important Kaka was in Cristiano's heart.
She only saw the pain and torture that Kaka had revealed in front of her. As a mother, she was terrified, afraid that one day one of the two men's love would be the first to withdraw and let go. She had to face her unintentional selfishness frankly. She hoped that Cristiano could know this and cherish it.
And now, she saw the hollow heart of Cristiano, with a small corner revealed. She saw the well-hidden void in Cristiano, her confusion and uneasiness, and more importantly, the overwhelming pain and wailing.
Just like a tortured beast that had just broken free from its shackles but was suddenly pushed back into a bottomless darkroom cage, Simone felt that he had committed a terrible crime.
"Chris, I'm really worried about you." Simi looked down at the boy who was curled up in a ball with his arms and legs hunched over. She took a deep breath sadly, "I'm sorry to let you know this..."
"No, Aunt Simone, I should know this." Cristiano interrupted the elder's apology. He took a breath - he felt as if he hadn't breathed in a long time, and his lungs had a burning feeling of being suffocated for too long, and his breathing was trembling - he looked at Simone, with a heavy nasal tone in his voice, he insisted and emphasized, "I have the right to know this."
Simeone met Cristiano's eyes and she froze in place. Previously, she thought that Cristiano was a child who needed her hug and comfort, who was fragile, helpless and broken. But until she and Cristiano's eyes met, she was shocked by the power in it, the strength that was broken and then quickly reassembled, the beautiful soul that was captivating.
She looked at the boy in front of her. The Cristiano in front of her was similar to the Cristiano in her impression, yet different. She seemed to have gotten to know and understand this child all over again. He was not only her son's partner, but also Cristiano Ronaldo himself, fragile yet strong, innocent yet sober, pure yet complex.
Simone seemed to understand why her son fell in love with the other person without paying attention to the doctrines he was familiar with. Such a soul is what everyone pursues and is an uncontrollable attraction, but the prerequisite is that the person who falls in love with him must be able to truly get to know him and understand him through countless obstacles.
Simone closed her eyes and whispered to Cristiano: "Okay, my child, that's for a while. I'll call you up to eat later, okay?"
Cristiano nodded, and when Simeone and Bosco turned to go upstairs, he called out to them again: "Aunt Simeone, please don't tell Kaka that I know about this."
He begged.
"...Okay, Chris, if that's what you want." Simone couldn't help but lament in his heart how many secrets these two children were hiding. They were so young, but they seemed to have lived half their lives.
Cristiano's shoulders slumped after the Wrights left, and he hid himself in a corner tiredly.
When he realized that his lover had missed time and space, and was alone in this world without him, with no idea that they would meet again in the future, he was filled with only boundless fear - he thought of himself in his previous life, the hopeless expectations, the repeated disappointments, the empty villas when he was alone, the lonely and cold lights, and he felt the same despair.
He covered his face and cried out loudly and fiercely, for himself and for his lover.
"I don't know if it's the right thing to not tell Kaka about this." Simeone whispered to her husband after going upstairs, her voice low and depressed.
She couldn't even tell Dolores, who treated her sincerely, the real reason why Cristiano didn't go upstairs. She had to tell her vaguely that Cristiano was still in the gym, and Dolores smiled and waved her hand, saying let him go.
Dennis glanced at them, and there was sharp scrutiny in the eyes of the veteran who no longer drank, but he chose to trust them and did not ask any more questions.
Simeone and Bosco felt even more guilty about this.
Bosco opened his phone and took a look at the message. Kaka replied to the message just ten minutes ago.
【Ricky: OK Dad, I'll be home in twenty minutes. Please take good care of him for me.
He glanced at them and said to his wife, "Kaka will be back soon, let him handle it himself."
Simone was surprised when he heard this: "Didn't he say that there was a photo shoot here today? And that he would attend a dinner party after it was over? Shouldn't he be at the dinner party now?"
"You told him?" She reacted immediately and widened her eyes slightly, "But I just promised Chris not to tell Kaka about this!"
"You agreed." Bosco corrected gently, shrugging his shoulders. "Besides, I informed Kaka as soon as the situation got out of control - I mean when Chris started to cry. How could I have predicted that Chris would make such a request half an hour later?"
Simone couldn't help but take a deep breath: "Oh my God, Bosco...you finally did something good."
Bosco accepted his wife's sincere praise with satisfaction. He said, "Now we only need to consider one thing. If they can't come out of the underground gym before dinner, how are we going to explain it to Dinis and the others?"
Simone paused and fell silent.
A few minutes later, there was a knock on the door of Cristiano's villa, and Dolores went to open it - Cristiano didn't like to arrange servants when he was on vacation with his family, so except for the chef and the buyer, he gave everyone else a holiday.
"Kaka! I thought you wouldn't come today. Welcome, my child." Dolores was a little surprised to see the handsome and handsome Brazilian standing outside the door. She walked up and gave Kaka a warm hug.
She noticed that the buttons on Kaka's suit were all wrongly buttoned, and he was wearing a roughly dark coat that didn't match the suit at all, but it seemed as if the owner was not paying attention at all.
Kaka also bent down and hugged Dolores back in a gentlemanly manner. He put on a habitual fake smile and quickly replied with an excuse he had thought of on the way: "This is a little surprise that Cristiano and I thought of together. This is your first time in Manchester, and we should all be there."
Dolores laughed and curved her round eyes: "You are both the most caring children. Come in, it's snowing outside again? There is snow on your shoulders."
Simeone and Bosco also came over quickly. Simeone took Kaka's coat and said quickly: "You are finally here. Is it time for dinner? Go to the gym and call Chris to come up for dinner?"
Kaka nodded hurriedly in gratitude; he just needed an excuse to go find Cristiano.
"Okay." Kaka immediately trotted towards the stairs.
"Not so fast!" Dolores shouted in amusement. "No hurry!"
"Then you guys just play down there for a while!" Simeone immediately said.
Dolores responded in agreement, and jokingly took Simeone's hand and walked towards the living room: "Let the boys talk about their football. Digan, Alma and the others are still having fun in the room. Don't rush them. We won't be in a hurry to eat later."
Simone praised sincerely: "Yes, that's right. Dolly, you are such an open-minded mother."
Dolores smiled sheepishly: "No, I just want the kids to be happy."
Simeone nodded heavily in approval.
Kaka walked down the stairs quickly. He didn't find Cristiano at first sight. The lights in the gym were off, only the dim lights were on when no one was around.
He hurried into the gym and found Chris curled up with his knees hugged in an inconspicuous corner.
"Cris!" Kaka gasped, and he trotted over, thinking in horror in his heart, God, he had never seen Cristiano like this - trapped in the darkness, as if isolated from everything, as if he was the only one left.
He saw a kind of loneliness and desolation that was unique to Cristiano, and it made him feel so painful that he felt as if something was getting out of control.
He suddenly realized that this might have been Cristiano's normal state in his previous life.
After the noisy and exciting games, in the days and nights after he chose to enter his second marriage, when no one was around, he pushed Cristiano in with his own hands.
He was terrified.
He did all this without realizing it, until today.
Until he suddenly received a call from his father. When he picked up the phone, he only heard that it was too quiet on the other end. Before he could even open his mouth, he heard a familiar voice mixed with a whisper that almost broke his heart.
He never thought of letting the secret be known, no matter if it was ten years or that short period of less than a month. It was his secret. He was like an addict who tasted thorns. The stinging memory made the beauty of the present more real and reminded him all the time how he should love his lover.
But now, the thorns he had hidden pricked his lover, and he rushed back without even a moment's delay. However, when he ran to the other person, he unexpectedly caught a glimpse of a side of Cristiano that he had hidden and never let him see.
He walked carefully and slowly to his lover, and when he touched Cristiano, his boy seemed to wake up suddenly and looked up at him.
"Kaka?!" Cristiano's eyes suddenly lit up. He blinked, as if he had just come to his senses. He pulled the corners of his mouth to reveal a very distant smile. He murmured unconsciously, "...I thought I heard it wrong again."
again? Kaka didn't understand what this once again meant, but he didn't care. He reached out to his lover, and Cristiano grabbed his hand.
Reassured, he took a firm grip on Chris and pulled the boy up from the ground.
When Cristiano stood up, he couldn't help but stagger and gasp. He felt as if all the bones in his body were stiff as wood, especially his legs which were sore and numb. He had maintained the same posture for too long and this was the punishment for it.
He almost fell, but fortunately Kaka caught him steadily. He couldn't help but smile at Kaka, but it seemed to have no effect on his face that had been crying so hard.
"My legs are numb." He muttered softly, not mentioning why Kaka suddenly came back from the dinner and appeared here. He was not stupid.
Kaka picked him up after hearing that, and before Cristiano could say anything in disapproval, he lowered his head and kissed him hard.
When he kissed the salty tears on the boy's lips, he couldn't help but lose control. His kiss became a little more violent. He scratched Cristiano's lips and tasted a faint taste of rust.
"Cris..." He murmured, then sucked the blood that oozed out gently and cherishingly, staring into Chris' eyes with a tender and deep gaze, and threaded his fingers between Cristiano's fingers and held them tightly, "It's mine... Don't be alone anymore, I won't do this again, never."
