Chapter 62

Chapter 62

Christmas Eve was wonderful for Cristiano.

It was a Christmas Eve that couldn't be more neat. They enjoyed a sumptuous dinner and then opened the presents. There was a mountain of presents piled under their Christmas tree.

Cristiano found his pile and couldn't wait to sit on the floor and start taking it apart, as did Di Gan.

"I didn't expect to have so many presents today!" Digan exclaimed in surprise and excitement. This year's Christmas Eve is not in Brazil, and he originally thought that there would be no presents to open that evening.

"I've prepared several for you!" Cristiano sat next to Digan and compared a number. He raised his eyebrows proudly and whispered in Digan's ear, "You beat your brother, didn't you?"

Digan nodded happily: "You are my dear... dear brother!"

He answered soberly.

Cristiano laughed out loud when he heard this: "Kaka! Did you hear that?"

Kaka gave Di Gan a warning look. He could see that Di Gan was about to let the cat out of the bag. God knows what this guy wanted to say.

"Is this a competition to see who wins or who loses?" He looked down at the young lover who was unwrapping their gifts, shook his head helplessly, stood next to Cristiano and asked in a low voice.

Cristiano grinned when he heard that. He didn't answer, but just opened his Christmas present in a good mood, leaning against Kaka's calf to relax.

To be honest, he has received all kinds of expensive Christmas gifts, including jewelry worth millions and luxury cars worth tens of millions. Every year, the size and value of Christmas gifts are increasing rapidly, but he has not felt the pure joy and happiness of opening gifts like he does now for a long time.

With beautiful and exquisite wrapping paper scattered around him, Cristiano felt like a child waving a small shovel on the beach, digging up the little toys that his family had buried on purpose.

Hugo gave a beautiful and exquisite signature pen, Alma gave a bottle of men's perfume, Cardia prepared a book, and Dolores gave a pair of warm gloves...

Dolores looked at her little son sitting on the ground opening presents with amusement, his face full of rich expressions. She seemed to see the twelve-year-old Chris, who had just gone to Sporting Lisbon to play football, coming home for Christmas for the first time and sitting on the ground opening presents with the same enthusiasm.

But they were very poor at that time, and the Christmas present prepared for Chris, apart from a ball, consisted of snacks and fruits prepared by his brothers and sisters, wrapped like gifts.

Even so, Cristiano was still in high spirits. He even tasted port wine for the first time. He got drunk after one glass and stumbled around in her high heels, laughing foolishly.

Dolores narrowed her eyes and couldn't help but teasing, "Chris, you're acting like a child. Who said they were grown up a few days ago?"

Simeone laughed and retorted: "Chris is the same age as my Di Gan. He is just a child and there is no need to rush to grow up."

Dolores laughed.

Denis gave a beautiful empty tin can and a bag of colorful small glass beads.

When he saw Cristiano opening his gift, he said, "Cristiano, I hope that the last thing you do when you get home every day is to recall how many happy things you have experienced that day. If you do that, throw a small bead into this can. When it is full, I will prepare a new one for you."

Cristiano blinked in surprise. He really didn't expect that this would be a gift from his father.

"This is such a great gift," Bosco said sincerely.

Cristiano opened the can, counted out four beads and threw them in, counting them carefully and muttering: "The blessing from the boss counts as one, today is Christmas Eve counts as one, and so many gifts count as one."

Dolores listened to her youngest son counting and couldn't help but chuckle. Her silly boy was so easily satisfied and happy.

"You threw four beads, what about the other one?" Hugo raised his eyebrows.

"The other one is a secret." Cristiano grinned at his eldest brother and shook his head, "I won't tell you."

As Cristiano spoke, he shook the can gently, and the crisp sound of small beads rolling inside came out. He smiled and closed the lid on the tin can.

Hugo rolled his eyes: "Ha, I don't care to know."

Cristiano grimaced.

After the gift-opening session, singing and dancing followed.

Although Cristiano failed to grab the microphone, he sang louder than anyone else.

Di Gan was holding the camera he got as a Christmas gift and taking pictures everywhere in the house. Cristiano loved to get in front of Di Gan's camera and kept pulling everyone around to take pictures, becoming the undisputed first person in Di Gan's camera tonight.

"Take more photos of me and your brother!" Cristiano grabbed Digan and whispered, "Snap! Understand? Take more photos! I can't be too obvious! But this is the third Christmas between your brother and me, I want more commemorative photos!"

Only the third one? Degan blinked. As far as he knew, there were already two of them. How strange.

But he played along until his new camera ran out of battery and he didn't have time to take a picture of himself on Christmas Eve. Degan realized, "This is the price I have to pay for getting a few extra Christmas presents."

Dolores and Simeone saw Cristiano and Digan jumping up and down, and they covered their mouths and whispered to each other in amusement: "These two silly boys, do they still think we don't know?"

"You really didn't tell them?" Simone blinked. "Did Hugo and the others know?"

"Of course." Dolores hummed and blinked. "Is that so?"

She laughed, "It's been so funny to see Chris trying to hide and act silly these past two days."

Dolores had seen this happen quite a few times in the past two days. For example, when they met her gaze while whispering, the two boys looked away guiltily and looked in their own directions. Or, when they drank from the same cup of water, it was not until a third person showed up that the other person remembered to get another cup to cover up...

Dolores always had to hold back her laughter and turn away expressionlessly. To be honest, she hadn't seen Cristiano with that expression in a long time, and she was sure that once she talked about it, she might never see it again.

Everyone was partying until late at night. When Cristiano went upstairs, he was whispering to Kaka about going to each other's room at night, but Dolores suddenly called him: "Cristiano, Kaka, do you want some more hot milk?"

"No, Mom. I'm almost full." Cristiano waved his hand and pulled Kaka upstairs.

Dolores paused and said, "I think you want to drink."

Alma and Hugo understood as soon as they heard it, and looked at each other at the same time. Just as they were about to laugh, they saw their curly-haired little brother's face stiffen, and the handsome Brazilian gentleman was also extremely stiff, with his eyes wandering.

Alma and the other two held back their laughter and went upstairs, leaving the space downstairs to Cristiano and the others.

"Hahaha, I guarantee it! Kaka must have been wondering frantically whether they had revealed any clues!" Alma laughed after dragging her brother and sister into the room.

Katya also laughed so hard that she fell on Alma's bed. She shook her head and said, "That's too much! These two people would fall on each other while stretching in the yard after their morning run! And when they were applying sunscreen, I said, can't they apply it on themselves?"

Hugo covered his eyes as he listened: "Oh my God... Before you said it, I thought these were all normal things! Why do they sound so wrong when they come out of your mouth?!"

Cardia and Alma looked at each other and laughed as they pushed Hugo out, "That means they'll be safe. Hold on, Hugo. We need you as a measure of safety."

Hugo: “…”

Downstairs, Cristiano and Kaka stood there stiffly. Cristiano screamed in his heart, thinking that he must have been too obvious just now and he messed up!

He took a deep breath, his palms sweating and his fingers trembling, but his eyes were fixed on Dolores. He licked his lips and whispered, "Mom."

Cristiano heard that his voice was so dry that he cleared his throat and grabbed Kaka's hand: "Mom, this is my fourth glass bead."

Dolores was stunned for a moment, a little surprised that Cristiano would explain it to her like this, but she soon understood. She saw the uneasiness in Cristiano's eyes, but more of it was determination and a hint of desperate persistence.

She felt her heart being slightly pulled. The last time she saw such a similar look was when Cristiano asked her to play football.

Kaka's breathing paused slightly. He was Cristiano's fourth bead. He couldn't help but want to laugh, and his eyes felt hot. Cristiano's directness was cute and frank to death, but he was really afraid that Dolores would not be able to accept this sudden disclosure.

He held Chris's hand tightly, turned to Dolores, and said after thinking for a while: "Aunt Dolores, I'm sorry...but I promise you that I love him, and I will do everything to love and protect him..."

Dolores listened quietly, and after listening to a few words, she saw that her little son's eyes were red and he was about to cry.

She laughed inwardly and could no longer maintain her scrutinizing expression.

She took a few steps closer and hugged the two older boys into her arms. She smiled and asked, "Why should love apologize? There is nothing wrong with love, my children."

"Merry Christmas." Dolores kissed Cristiano and Kaka on the forehead. She smiled and winked at them. "I just want to say that today is Christmas Eve and I put mistletoe there."

She pointed to another inconspicuous corner of the villa.

Cristiano was stunned for a moment, as if his brain had crashed. After several seconds, he finally reacted. He jumped up in surprise and held Dolores' hand: "Oh my God, Mom! You knew it a long time ago, right? You all knew it?!"

Dolores smiled and nodded, almost dizzy by Cristiano.

"I love you! You are the best mother in the world!" Cristiano hugged his mother tightly.

"You're so sweet." Dolores smiled and scratched Cristiano's nose. She pinched Chris's ear. The boy's eyes were as sweet as if they were filled with caramel. Her heart softened, and she became more convinced that the choice made by herself, Denis, and all of them was the right one.

She said gently, "Well, it's time for the old man to go to bed. Good night Chris, good night Kaka, and I wish you a merry Christmas."

Cristiano hugged his mother and said sweetly, "No, Ms. Dolores, you are not old at all! You are the most beautiful in my eyes. I love you!"

Dolores' eyes were curved by the coaxing. She couldn't help but gently push her little son, looked at Kaka who was still stunned, and asked jokingly: "Are you sure you want to spend the last few minutes of Christmas Eve with me?"

Cristiano exclaimed softly, he grabbed Kaka and ran to the mistletoe in the corner: "That's right, Mom! Merry Christmas!"

Kaka staggered and finally realized what was happening. He was surprised and incredulous. He stammered as he thanked Dolores: "Thank you, thank you for your understanding. I..."

"Go ahead kid, I know what you're going to say," Dolores said, laughing, "but Chris can't wait."

Kaka couldn't help but smile. He nodded hurriedly, said "Merry Christmas to you", and followed Cristiano to the corner over there.

Dolores went upstairs. She seemed to be able to hear the two boys whispering and laughing. She curled the corners of her mouth and said, "Merry Christmas, boys."

Cristiano stood under the mistletoe, his eyes bright and his lips slightly pursed unconsciously, as if he was waiting.

Kaka narrowed his eyes, took his lover's hand and placed it on his waist, letting Cristiano put his arms around his waist. He slightly exerted force to reduce the distance between them to a negative number, then lowered his head and kissed Cristiano deeply.

The midnight bell rang outside the window, and snow fluttered all over the ground. They huddled in a safe corner, kissing and hugging, exchanging each other's breathing and heartbeats, and the flickering flame of the fireplace in the house was as warm as a faint light.

Merry Christmas.
