Shen Wan was awakened by hunger.
When I woke up, it was lunchtime. My body felt weak and limp, especially a certain area that felt sore and swollen. If I moved, my joints would crack and pop.
The images of their passionate lovemaking from last night flashed through her mind, and Shen Wan's cheeks flushed. In her heart, she affectionately cursed a certain bastard.
Last night, for the first time, that bastard surrendered in less than half a cup of tea's time. He was extremely annoyed, frustrated, and incredulous. To prove that he wasn't that bad, he tormented Shen Wan again and again, begging for mercy until his mouth was dry, but he still wouldn't let her go. In the end, he exhausted Shen Wan until she fainted before he stopped.
Shen Wan woke up as usual in the morning, but that jerk didn't get up for his morning exercise and kept bothering her. She said she was going to get up for breakfast, but that jerk said that he hadn't starved to death even after months of not eating, and that she wouldn't starve if she ate breakfast half an hour later.
As a result, I didn't get to eat breakfast...
She was so hungry that her stomach was practically sticking to her back.
Yinshuang and Haitang were guarding outside the door. When they heard noises inside the house, they quickly went in to serve them.
Shen Wan threw off the covers and got out of bed. Her legs were so sore that she could barely stand. Annoyed, Shen Wan couldn't help but curse at a certain man again, and then she heard a sneeze.
Shen Wan glanced over and saw Xie Jingyan walk in, his stunningly handsome face radiating confidence and high spirits.
Shen Wan was stunned for a moment, and then she was overwhelmed by anger.
She looked completely listless, like she'd lost half her life, while this bastard was acting like nothing had happened and was so energetic. It's true what they say, comparisons are odious.
Shen Wan threw glares at him one after another, but the man was not only not annoyed, he was overjoyed.
After getting dressed, Shen Wan walked towards the dressing table. Before she even sat down, she noticed the two red plum blossoms on her neck. Remembering how Yin Shuang and Hai Tang had been secretly laughing earlier, Shen Wan turned around and glared fiercely at Xie Jingyan.
Shen Wan only glanced at Xie Jingyan before looking away, but she saw Xie Jingyan walking towards her in the bronze mirror and standing behind her.
He tilted his head slightly, and Shen Wan saw the mark on his neck in the bronze mirror.
Shen Wan, "..."
Their arrogance vanished in an instant.
They're both equally bad.
Xie Jingyan whispered in Shen Wan's ear, "Why aren't you saying anything?"
Shen Wan was both embarrassed and annoyed, and pushed him away, saying, "Go to your study and read your books, don't stand here in the way."
But she was no match for Xie Jingyan's strength; instead, her hand was grabbed. He said, "I'm hungry. Eat your fill before you go back to reading."
Shen Wan couldn't pull her hand away, and looked up to meet Xie Jingyan's eyes.
That look in his eyes...
Shen Wan gritted her teeth inwardly.
That bastard's best talk is about eating!
Xie Jingyan couldn't be happier with her seemingly angry yet reproachful expression. When Shen Wan struggled again, he let go and sat down on the small couch to drink tea.
Shen Wan sat down at the dressing table and called Yin Shuang, who had slipped out earlier, in to comb her hair. Once her hair was done, the small kitchen brought in the food.
Shen Wan sat down, picked up her chopsticks and started eating with gusto. Xie Jingyan put some food on her plate and said, "Eat slowly."
He was met with a sharp glare from Shen Wan. Ever since her appetite increased, she couldn't stand being hungry anymore. People who miss a meal are driven crazy with hunger. If it weren't for this bastard, would she have skipped breakfast and gotten this hungry?
Xie Jingyan, realizing he was in the wrong, silently served food to Shen Wan.
Normally, Shen Wan would be full after eating two bowls of rice, but today she had skipped a meal and had burned a lot of energy. After two bowls of rice, she only felt half full. Shen Wan asked Yin Shuang to give her more rice, but Yin Shuang said, "You've already eaten two bowls, you can't have any more..."
How could a lady from a respectable family have such a good appetite? The princess is visibly getting rounder, especially around the waist. If she doesn't control herself and keeps eating like this, she'll become rounder and rounder!
Yinshuang looked at Xie Jingyan, hoping he would stop her, when she heard the man say, "Give her another half bowl."
Silver Frost, "..."
The prince definitely deserves some credit for the princess's plump figure.
Yinshuang disagreed in her heart, but since the prince didn't care, what could a mere maid like her do? She could only obey.
Yinshuang served Shen Wan another half bowl of rice, and Xie Jingyan put a spare rib on Shen Wan's plate, saying, "You need to eat more meat to gain strength."
Yinshuang stood to the side, her lips twitching as she listened.
The princess has a noble status and doesn't have to do manual labor, so why would she need to have so much strength?
Shen Wan knew Xie Jingyan was saying she was too delicate, so she glared at him and continued eating.
After lunch, Xie Jingyan went to his study. Yinshuang and Haitang advised Shen Wan to go for a walk in the garden to avoid indigestion. Shen Wan wanted to go too, but she was too tired. After reading half a book, she couldn't resist the drowsiness and went to bed.
Before falling asleep, Shen Wan instructed Yin Shuang that she would only sleep for an hour before waking her up, and that she could sleep for the whole afternoon if she was allowed to.
When the time came, Yinshuang woke Shenwan up. While she went out to get hot water, Shenwan fell asleep again. Fearing that Shenwan would really punish her for her monthly salary, Yinshuang had no choice but to bite the bullet and wake Shenwan up again.
After taking a nap in the afternoon, I felt refreshed and went for a walk in the garden. When I returned to Moyuxuan and stepped up the stairs, a maid came in from outside the courtyard and called out, "Your Highness..."
Shen Wan stopped and turned around. The little maid ran up to her, and in the sunlight, the bright red and gold wedding invitation in her hand was particularly eye-catching.
The maid handed the wedding invitation to Shen Wan and said, "The Ministry of Rites has sent a wedding invitation, inviting the Princess and the Prince to attend the wedding banquet in a few days."
The wedding invitations have all been sent, but Shen Wan hasn't yet given out the dowry she prepared.
Yesterday's assassination attempt prevented me from delivering the body, and I was supposed to deliver it today, but I slept until noon. I can't delay any longer tomorrow; I must deliver it.
