The air conditioner was on in the office and the temperature was just right, but I felt cold all over.
I pushed Zhou Chenyan hard.
He didn't move.
"What are you afraid of?"
I gritted my teeth and said nothing.
He seemed to find my behavior quite amusing and looked at me with interest. "Are you afraid of being seen by him? Are you embarrassed..."
He paused, speaking meaningfully.
"Or don't want him to see you?"
"Don't talk nonsense!" The implication of his words seemed to indicate that there was some shameful relationship between him and the senior.
I pushed for a long time but didn't move him, instead I was exhausted and out of breath.
"Let me go!"
Zhou Chenyan chuckled, "He came at the wrong time, but also at the perfect time."
This is self-contradictory.
I do not understand.
But the uneasiness in my heart kept growing like a snowball.
"What on earth are you going to do?"
"Why not..." He leaned close to my ear, his voice as soft as the wind, "let him in and take a look."
My eyes widened, "You're crazy!"
"You said you were just friends, so there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with letting him see you and your man being intimate, right?"
I gritted my teeth and said, "I don't want it!"
"But I want to see what kind of expression he would have." He said quietly, "He is so caring and considerate to you, so thoughtful. I guess he really likes you."
"Don't make random assumptions about others!"
The warm breath sprayed on my ears, and I felt extremely uncomfortable. I turned my head to avoid it, but he pinched my chin and forced me to turn back.
"What are you hiding from?" His face was gloomy. "Don't you want to see me?"
I said nothing.
He went on to talk to himself, "Listen, he's still outside. Let's let him in to take a look. It'll also help him put those unnecessary thoughts to rest."
When I heard him say this about my senior, I felt a surge of anger in my heart. "Stop talking nonsense. Han Qi is not the person you think he is."
"You dare say he doesn't like you?"
I choked.
My senior did say that he liked me, but I thought that our relationship would be awkward after he confessed his feelings. However, he seemed to have completely forgotten about it.
He never mentioned it again, and I never thought about it again. We still get along as harmoniously as before.
If Zhou Chenyan hadn’t told me, I would have almost forgotten about it.
Zhou Chenyan noticed my distraction.
"Who are you thinking about?"
He stared into my eyes, his gaze sharp.
I said indifferently, "No one wants to, just let me go."
"You act fearless, but your hands are shaking."
His hand slid down my arm and held my hand tightly.
Fingers intertwined, close and intimate.
I was shaking, but not because I was scared, but because I was angry with him.
I can’t imagine what it would look like if Han Qi saw me.
How embarrassing that scene was.
But I was helpless, "What on earth are you going to do?"
"I told you to stay away from him, but you didn't listen. So I had no choice but to help you."
He smiled slightly, like a devil.
My white fingertips clenched his shirt tightly, wishing I could tear a hole in it. "I told you, Han Qi and I are just colleagues."
"Really? I thought you were attracted to him and might have started thinking about remarrying..."
He looked me over as he spoke.
I was furious. "You're talking nonsense. I never thought of it that way!"
"I don't believe it."
The tension and suppressed emotions I had been holding back finally broke down, and I almost collapsed, "I really didn't!"
He was stunned.
His fingers caressed my cheek.
"Why are you crying?"
Only then did I realize that I was crying. I wiped my face fiercely, not wanting to show weakness in front of him.
He suddenly sighed and asked again.
"Why are you crying?"
I pursed my lips, my voice a little hoarse, "Give it back to me."
He said in a deep voice, "Han Qi is outside. Should I let you go and go find him?"
"Could you please stop mentioning Han Qi!"
They are still waiting outside the door.
I couldn't even imagine what the other person's expression would be when I opened the door and saw Zhou Chenyan and I like this.
Han Qi has known about our relationship for a long time.
But I don't want to see such an unbearable scene in front of him.
It's so embarrassing.
Zhou Chenyan's eyes were deep, "I just want him to see that you are mine, so that he won't have any thoughts about you that he shouldn't have."
I was shocked, but the situation was so pressing that I had no choice but to give in.
"You're overthinking it. Han Qi doesn't have that kind of thought towards me. He just thinks I work hard and seriously, and he hopes I can work hard with him to get the job done. That's all."
"real?"
"real."
It is the most difficult thing to give in at the beginning, but once you open your mouth, you feel numb.
Zhou Chenyan looked at me inquiringly, and I could only pretend to be calm and look at him.
Actually, I didn't say anything either.
Han Qi and I are friends and colleagues.
Normally, his attitude towards me is the same as that between colleagues. If Zhou Chenyan hadn't mentioned it today, I would have even forgotten that he had confessed his feelings.
"You don't want him to see?" he asked.
I nodded.
He asked again, "Isn't it because he is Han Qi?"
I suppressed my anger and shame and said, "No!"
He slowly stood up, and as soon as I was out of his grasp, I immediately sat up.
Zhou Chenyan sat on the sofa, slowly adjusting his tie. Only then did I realize that I had accidentally pulled one of his buttons unbuttoned.
He looked down and chuckled.
