Chapter 163: Weird and Strange

Zhou Chenyan then replied to me compassionately, "My parents asked us to go back for dinner."

"But you still have work to do, why don't you go ahead and do it first, and I'll go back by myself."

I also have some things I want to ask my in-laws.

It’s just right that Zhou Chenyan is not here.

"Mom and Dad asked us to go back together."

He emphasized the word "together".

I curled my lips.

"I've never seen you so obedient..."

"say what?"

"Nothing, I'm going downstairs to get a cup of coffee."

In fact, these are all excuses. There is a special tea room upstairs, which sells instant coffee and expensive coffee beans.

I just want to get some fresh air.

After buying a cup of coffee, Zhou Chenyan also finished his work. In order to avoid being seen by colleagues in the company, I let him get in the car first, and then I secretly sat in the passenger seat.

"You're finally back."

I blinked, "Mom."

Mother Zhou sighed, "You've been busy with work lately and haven't come back to see me and your father. It really makes me miss you so much."

I smiled and said, "You are back today, so we can stay for dinner with you and even stay here for one night."

I knew my in-laws wouldn't let us leave easily, so instead of arguing with them, I decided to offer to stay for one night.

Sure enough, my mother-in-law was very happy.

"I knew you were filial."

She glared at Zhou Chenyan again, "You're nothing like me, a stinky boy. You don't know how to be filial to your parents. You're not gentle, considerate, or sensible. If I had known that having a son would be like this, I should have strangled you to death."
