Chapter 214 Are You Sick?

I sighed, "What should we do now? If Mr. Song insists on not cooperating with us, I'm afraid there's no way Mr. Han can force him."

Although he is powerful, that does not mean he can do whatever he wants.

Han Qi said, "Don't forget, he was the one who pushed this project on us."

"You mean..."

Han Qi walked around to the back of the table and sat down. "I admit that I really want to take on this project because it will bring us huge benefits and can take our small workshop to the next level."

I couldn't help but nodded.

Because I agree with this statement too.

Han Qi added, "That's all I am. It doesn't mean I must take this project. This project was forced upon us by someone else. If he wanted to give it to us, then even if someone else was messing around, it would be useless."

"You know him so well."

Han Qi smiled coldly, "Of course I understand. This is my father. No one knows his deeds better than me."

I suddenly realized how much hurtful the words I just blurted out were to him.

"I was just joking, don't mind it."

Han Qi shook his head. "What's there to mind? I sincerely hope that we can do a good job on this project, but if someone else snatches it away from us, that's fine. After all, we have other work to do. There's no need to fight them to death."

I picked up the water glass on the table, took a sip, and my eyes couldn't help but glance at him.

"What's wrong?"

"You're not the same as you used to be."

Although Han Qi used to be calm and composed, he was actually quite strong-willed. This could be seen from his actions, as he arranged jobs for us and started a company without any hesitation.

But now he doesn't seem to be that...

It's radical.

Han Qi glanced at me with a gentle look in his eyes. "That's because I'm not alone anymore, and my company isn't just mine. It's a big family, and I have to be responsible for everyone."

I followed his gaze and looked out the glass door.

We hired quite a few employees, and there were about four or five of them sitting in the hall, chattering. They were all young girls and two young men.

Even though they were chatting, they didn't neglect their work.

I smiled and said, "You're right. We have to work hard to maintain the company for their sake."

"So, as long as we're not starving to death, there's no need for us to fight to the death with anyone."

After hearing what he said, I felt a little relieved.

"Yeah, it's not like we don't have work, and we don't have to take this project."

Han Qi patted my shoulder and said, "Don't worry about this anymore. No matter what Mr. Han decides in the end, we must do our job well. If the project ends up in our hands, we will do it well. If he really decides to hand the project over to someone else, we will have a clear conscience."

These words made me excited.

I agree with this very much.

"You're right, we should do this."

So we both went back to work, and what happened before didn't matter anymore. Zhou Zhizi called me again, but I didn't answer.

I knew it was no good. She was probably trying to show off to me that her relationship had progressed.

I don't want to listen at all.

That evening, Han Qi and I returned home from get off work, and he walked me downstairs to my house. "Han Zhilin called me today and asked us to meet tomorrow."

"About the project?"

"Um."

Han Qi's face was too calm, and I really couldn't tell what he was thinking. I guessed that maybe Mr. Han didn't say much to him.

"Anyway, you'll know tomorrow. Be careful on your way back and go home and get some rest."

"Okay, I'll watch you go upstairs."

He is always like this. Every time he sends me to the downstairs of my house, he still feels uneasy and has to see the light in my house turn on before his car leaves.

I waved him off and went into the apartment.

When I walked to the corridor, I found that the light in the apartment was broken. No matter how I stomped my feet, it didn't come on. I could only fumble out of my pocket to take out my phone and prepare to turn on the flashlight.

As soon as I turned on the flashlight, I noticed someone approaching me out of the corner of my eye.

At that moment, my hair stood on end.

"ah!"

A scream escaped her lips, and then the man covered her mouth with his hand.

"What are you shouting for? It's me."

I was still in shock, and when I heard the voice, I was so angry that I pushed the person away.

"Zhou Chenyan, are you sick?"

Zhou Chenyan's face was hidden in the darkness, and I couldn't see it clearly. The flashlight on my phone was turned off in the panic.

His voice was tired. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you."

Did the sun rise from the west today?

This selfish, domineering and arrogant person actually apologized to me!

I looked at him, my eyes were sore, but I still couldn't see his expression clearly in the dark. I rubbed my eyes and turned around to go in.

The flashlight didn't work, but the faint light from my phone screen was enough to illuminate the road in front of me.

It helps me not to slam my keys into the wall.

I opened the door and rushed into the house, but the person behind me followed me in.

"What are you doing in here? I didn't invite you!"

Zhou Chenyan rubbed his forehead and said, "I'm a little tired. Please stop making noise and let me rest here for a while."

He walked into the house in such a swagger, sat on the sofa, and turned on the light skillfully. I stood at the door with my arms folded and looked at him.

"Why?"
