Chapter 120 The Sentimental Man
“Okay.” Ongi replied expressionlessly, then left without hesitation.
He went back and treated his wound briefly before lying down to rest.
Despite feeling extremely tired and completely lost, I couldn't fall asleep at all, staring at the pale ceiling and the sunlight streaming in from outside.
He kept thinking about every word Momo had said to him.
Every time I think about it, my heart aches.
He still couldn't believe it was true. He knew Momo; she wasn't the kind of person who would change her mind so easily.
It was all because of Fu Yungui. If it weren't for him, Momo would never have said those things to her.
As Bian Xi thought this, she clenched her fists, her heart filled with hatred at the thought of that man.
A thought popped into his head: he had to rescue Momo.
He was truly afraid that one day she would actually fall in love with Fu Yungui.
If that day ever comes, he'll go crazy.
When Momo woke up, it was already noon. Outside, birds were chirping incessantly, and the sunlight streaming in was warm.
The room was brightly lit. She opened her eyes and looked around, but couldn't see the man.
She closed her eyes and paused for a moment before getting up to take a shower. But as soon as she got out of bed, she saw her shoes lying on the side of the bed and was taken aback.
Momo thought for a moment and seemed to remember that she hadn't taken off her shoes before going to bed.
But now that she sees the shoes neatly arranged here, she's starting to have doubts again.
Surely Fu Yungui didn't kindly take his clothes off for him, did he?
Won't.
Momo immediately denied the idea.
However, no one but Fu Yungui can enter this room, including Sang Ma.
Momo couldn't quite figure out what had happened, so she simply stopped thinking about it. Maybe she was just too tired at the time, which is why her memory was a bit hazy.
After washing up and changing her clothes, she went downstairs to find something to eat.
As soon as she got downstairs, she saw Aunt Sang carrying lunch towards the dining room. "Momo, you're awake. It's time to eat."
Momo smiled at her and said, "Yes."
I wasn't too bothered by the smell of food earlier, but now that I've suddenly smelled the rich aroma, my stomach is growling.
"Then come and sit down quickly, I'll get you some rice." Aunt Sang pulled out a chair for her.
"Thank you." Momo walked towards the dining table and sat down.
"Aunt Sang, where is Fu Yungui?" she asked again.
"He was just lying under the tree outside. I'll go call him." After putting down the bowl and chopsticks, Aunt Sang prepared to go outside.
But Momo stopped her and stood up, saying, "Auntie Sang, let me go."
Aunt Sang paused for a moment, then smiled and said, "Oh, okay."
Momo hadn't gone far when she saw the man resting under the tree. He was wearing sunglasses and lying on a large wooden rocking chair. His black shirt was unbuttoned, revealing his perfectly toned and well-defined physique. The sleeves were also rolled up, as if he were very hot.
It's quite hot under the midday sun, but if you feel hot, why lie there? Wouldn't it be better to stay at home?
Momo didn't quite understand him.
Behind the man stood a strong, sturdy tree, its leaves gently swaying in the breeze, a few falling to the ground. The man beneath the tree looked quite pleasing to the eye from a distance.
The man behind the sunglasses had already opened his eyes. He glanced at the person standing not far away, who was looking directly in his direction, but no one knew what he was thinking about. Several minutes had passed, and he was still standing there.
It just stays still.
"Huang Momo." The man crossed his arms and called out in that direction.
"Huh?" Momo immediately snapped out of her daze and quickly walked over there.
"What are you looking at now?" the man asked her.
"No, no, Aunt Sang asked me to come and call you for dinner," Momo said softly to him.
"Oh," the man grunted.
When Momo saw that he didn't seem to want to get up after he finished speaking, she asked again, "Aren't you going to eat?"
The man adjusted his sunglasses, glanced at her, and said casually, "Huang Momo, how are you going to eat if you're injured?"
"Huh?" Momo was surprised. Could you have gotten injured again in just a few hours? "Where are you hurt?"
Fu Yungui assumed she was asking a question she already knew the answer to, and immediately frowned, "Huang Momo, did you lose your brain after a nap?"
Momo was taken aback by his words, but immediately realized where he meant by injury.
But she remembered that her left arm was injured, so it shouldn't affect her eating, right?
Besides, even if it's the right arm, the hand is fine, so it won't affect holding chopsticks.
"Isn't that just a minor injury?" Momo's voice was timid, afraid that she might say something wrong again.
However, after saying that, she couldn't help but become bolder. He was the one who originally said that, and she was just mentioning it. There didn't seem to be anything wrong with that.
If anyone is wrong, it's him who said it wrong.
"A minor injury isn't an injury?" the man asked, frowning.
"That's not what I meant." Momo pursed her lips, then asked again, "Did you apply the medicine?"
"No," the man replied quickly and decisively.
Momo was taken aback. His words made it sound as if he had been preparing all along and was just waiting for her to come.
However, she didn't think much of it. "Then I'll wait until after I finish eating, then go get the medicine and apply it for you."
"Huang Momo, is eating more important, or is your life more important?"
"..."
Momo frowned slightly as she looked at him, somewhat speechless, feeling that he was picking a fight. However, she still patiently replied, "Your little injury won't be life-threatening."
If I don't eat soon, I'll starve to death.
She was starting to regret telling Aunt Sang that she was coming to call him.
Otherwise, the hot food would have been in her stomach long ago, and she wouldn't be here suffering from this man's harassment.
"Didn't you say that minor injuries can harm your health if left untreated?" The man added immediately when he saw the reluctance on her face.
"What, now you're only concerned with eating and don't care about other people's lives?"
"Okay, I'll go right away." Momo sighed softly and immediately agreed, not wanting to argue with him anymore. Then she quickly ran upstairs to find the first-aid kit.
She realized that the man was doing it on purpose. When she was injured yesterday, she said she needed to get it treated quickly, but he refused, showing no concern for the injury whatsoever.
Now that a day has passed, I'm suddenly being sentimental.
I really don't understand.
When she came downstairs with the ointment, Fu Yungui was already sitting at the dining table, slowly eating his meal.
Seeing her approach, the man looked up at her and said, "Come on, let's eat first."
"Oh." Upon hearing this, Momo immediately obeyed, placed the ointment aside, and went to wash her hands.
