Chapter 123 Want to become irreplaceable to me?
Anai and Maomao knew that their boss was really angry, angry that they had no discipline and acted recklessly.
They endured the pain and finally managed to get up from the ground, but their backs were so sore they couldn't straighten up.
"Hurry up!" the man said, raising the object in his hand again.
As the belt was about to fall, the two men quickly started to fight back, but because their waists were hurting so badly, their fists were weak and posed no threat at all.
"Didn't you eat lunch?" The man was too lazy to do anything, so he simply tossed the belt in his hand to Nar beside him. "Nar, give them a good beating."
"Okay, Brother Yun." After taking the belt, Nar swung it directly at the waists of the two men, using all his strength, each swing harder than the last.
The two men screamed and ran around, ignoring the pain in their waists.
"Stop fucking playing the coward, what are you yelling about? Weren't you just acting like you were someone important? Shut up and hit him harder."
Nar continued to beat them relentlessly with the belt in his hand.
He had only been gone a short time, yet the two of them had managed to pull off such a stunt, even alarming Brother Yun.
This is clearly a challenge to his own authority. If he can't even control two little kids, how will he manage those even wilder mercenaries in the future?
Anai was being whipped repeatedly with the belt, which seemed to ignite her anger. She gritted her teeth and swung her fist at Mao Mao. Mao Mao, of course, was not going to back down either. The two of them resumed their fight, even more intensely than before, and it really felt like it was a fight to the death.
Due to the intense movements, the skin on their waists was rubbed raw and blood was seeping out continuously.
Anu, watching from the side, felt a pang of pity. Although the two were already adults, they still seemed like immature children to him.
My body isn't fully developed yet. If I keep pushing myself like this, I'll either lose half my life or be ruined.
But when he glanced to the side, the man still had a cold face, his gloomy eyes staring straight at the two of them.
The people standing in a row nearby watched in silence.
Anu then understood why Brother Yun had called everyone over; it turned out he wanted to make an example of them and extinguish this unhealthy trend.
He admitted that this kind of infighting was indeed bad.
However, they are still young and impetuous, so a little punishment is enough; they shouldn't be allowed to become too bad.
Anu held his breath, watching the two boys in front of him fight until their eyes were bloodshot and their mouths were bleeding.
He paused, then gritted his teeth and said what was on his mind, "Brother Yun, if this continues, they'll be finished."
The man snorted coldly, unconcerned. "So what if they're crippled? What value do they have? They've only completed a few minor missions, and they really think they're something special?"
"You want to become irreplaceable to me?"
"Do you have that ability?"
“I didn’t.” Upon hearing this, Anai immediately stopped and retorted, “I never thought that way.”
Anai admitted that she wanted his approval, but he absolutely did not want to do it this way.
"No?" the man scoffed and asked in return.
"What are you arguing with Maomao for? If you're so capable, go and argue with Nar and see if he can take you down in a minute."
"His skills are so-so, but he's utterly useless."
Anai fell silent instantly; he was powerless to refute.
"I'm sorry, boss, I'll never do that again."
Ah Nai lowered his head, knowing he had acted impulsively today and shouldn't have competed with Mao Mao like that. He hoped Mao Mao could forgive him this time.
The man lit a cigarette, ignoring them completely, and instead fixed his gaze on the person next to him.
"Sawa, weren't you there at the time? I bet you enjoyed watching the show."
"Come on, why don't you share your thoughts?"
"Huh?" Sawa was suddenly called out and became nervous. He couldn't escape even though he was hiding in the crowd. It was as if the man's eyes were fixed on him.
“Well, I also think they shouldn’t have done that,” Sawa said with a dry laugh.
“No, that shouldn’t be the case,” the man said with a half-smile. “So you were having a good time watching from the sidelines, and you embellished the story, weren’t you?”
Sawa was taken aback for a moment, then immediately denied it, "No, no, absolutely not."
He would never admit it. Anyway, Brother Yun wasn't there either. If he didn't see it, then it didn't happen.
He smiled at the man, his two rows of large white teeth making his face look even blacker than the soles of his shoes.
"Would you like me to pull up the surveillance footage and play it for you live?"
“…” Shava immediately calmed down. “I’m sorry, Brother Yun, I was wrong.”
Please forgive me this once.
The man composed himself, not even bothering to give him a glance.
After Momo came out of the house, she wandered around aimlessly, taking the opportunity to familiarize herself with the surroundings. As she passed the training ground, she saw a large group of people standing there in the distance, wondering what they were doing.
The man's tall and straight figure stood out conspicuously in the crowd.
Sawa, for some unknown reason, stood in front of the man, too afraid to look up. There were two other people lying beside him; their figures looked somewhat familiar, but their faces were obscured.
Momo stood there for a while, but couldn't figure it out, so she left.
She strolled along the fence, looking for a blind spot to escape the surveillance cameras, but didn't want to be too obvious, since the cameras could see her facial expressions.
If it's too obvious, it's easy to expose your purpose.
In the southeast corner of the house, as soon as Momo arrived, she saw two boys lying outside the fence. They looked to be about ten years old, dressed in tattered clothes, and their faces were dirty.
The two of them were playing something, and their faces were constantly smiling.
She was a little curious. This place was far from their village. Even if the child was a bit playful, he wouldn't have gone this far.
Thinking this, Momo moved closer to the fence, but after only a few steps, the two children outside noticed her.
The two people lying on the ground froze when they saw her coming, their smiles vanished, and they stared at her blankly.
Momo thought they were scared, so she immediately smiled at them and said, "I don't mean any harm, don't be afraid."
"What are you doing here?" she asked softly through the fence, crouching down to their level.
The slightly older man looked at her warily without saying a word.
The smaller boy, however, couldn't keep it to himself, saying, "Waiting for food."
Momo was taken aback, then asked in return, "Food?"
The little boy was about to nod when the older boy next to him pulled him back, signaling him to stop talking.
The little boy looked at Momo and immediately shut his mouth. Then the two of them got up from the ground and ran away quickly.
