Chapter 128 Making All the Preparations

Chapter 128 Making All the Preparations

Sang Ma saw through her eyes what she wanted to say, and she immediately shook her head at Momo, indicating that there were surveillance cameras above and she shouldn't say anything more.

Momo pursed her lips, nodded at her, stuffed the things in her hand into her pocket, and then lowered her head to eat.

After she finished eating, she told Aunt Sang and then went to the back to find the two children.

Just as she reached the bend behind the woods, before even arriving at the same spot as yesterday, Momo suddenly saw half a body peeking out in the distance, crawling on the ground towards the other side.

She was startled and immediately hid in the nearby woods, peering through the gaps in the leaves.

The little boy moved freely in the narrow gap like an eel. After most of his body was inside, he immediately looked up and glanced inside. Seeing that no one was there, he continued to climb with peace of mind.

Momo, hiding behind, saw the face clearly; it was Sang Ma's youngest son.

However, what surprised and intrigued her was not the people who appeared here, but the fact that there was a hole here, a loophole that no one had discovered.

To be precise, it wasn't a hole, but rather a broken iron fence.

This happens to be another blind spot for surveillance cameras. Perhaps the venue is so large that this small area of damage is completely inconspicuous.

When Momo saw this, it was like a person on the verge of death in the desert finding a source of salvation.

She was desperately wondering how she could get out of this training ground.

At that moment, she felt both excited and inexplicably nervous.

The little boy climbed in, quickly picked up a few red berries that had fallen to the ground, then slipped back in and neatly put the broken iron fence back in its place.

From the outside, there is absolutely no indication that anything is wrong.

After sharing the fruit, the two quickly left, running eastward.

Momo only emerged from the woods after they had left. She looked around to make sure no one was watching before quietly heading towards the spot. She wanted to see what was going on.

As soon as she reached the fence and touched it, before she could even move, a cold voice suddenly came from behind her.

What are you doing here?

Momo froze, feeling as if her blood had frozen. She didn't dare to look back at all.

She told herself to take a deep breath and stay calm.

Momo paused for a moment, then slowly stood up and looked back.

Nar held the gun, staring at her with a cold expression.

When Momo saw that it wasn't Fu Yungui, her racing heart immediately calmed down. She had been too nervous to realize that the voice was wrong.

She calmly replied, "I'm looking for Aunt Sang's child."

“Sang Ma’s child isn’t here,” Nal said.

"Yes, I didn't see it. I might have gone to the wrong place. I remember it was roughly in this direction yesterday, but I don't remember the exact location," Momo explained again.

It's indeed easy to get lost, since the surrounding woods are quite deep and everything looks pretty much the same. She needs to find a landmark to remember, otherwise she won't be able to find her way around.

Nar's expression softened slightly, and he pointed in the direction, "It's over there. Don't come here too often in the future."

"Oh, thank you," Momo replied, then walked forward without hesitation.

Nar stood there and stared at her for a few moments before leaving as well.

Not long after Momo left, she saw the two children again.

"Big Brother and Little Sister." Momo called out their names from a distance; she had just asked Aunt Sang about them.

The two children immediately turned to look at her when they heard the sound. This time, there was no fear or tension in their eyes. Momo squatted by the iron bars and watched them. They actually walked forward a little.

Momo was a little surprised, wondering if Sang's mother had mentioned her to them yesterday.

"Sister Momo," Da Da called out first, followed by Xiao Xiao.

Momo immediately smiled. It seemed that her guess was correct; Aunt Sang must have told them.

She pulled a lot of snacks out of her pocket and handed them over, saying, "Here you go."

They glanced at each other, their eyes filled with longing, but they only looked and did not reach out to take it.

"What's wrong?" Momo asked. "Don't be shy, it's my treat. If you don't accept it, I'll get angry."

She handed it forward a little further and said gently, "Take it quickly."

Xiao Xiao couldn't help but reach out her hand, "Thank you, sister."

"You're welcome." Momo squatted there, resting her chin on her hand, watching them eat. Because it was a rare treat, the two of them cherished every bite.

"Where do you come from every day?" Momo asked casually.

Xiao Xiao chewed on what was in her mouth, pointed in the direction, and said, "There."

"Should we keep going that way?" Momo asked again.

Da Da nodded, "Yes, there is a straight road there. Just follow the stream and you'll get here. It's just that the grass around is a bit tall, so it's not easy to walk."

Momo nodded, indicating that she had heard.

"Then which way do I go to get to the city center from here?" she asked again.

Da Da stood up and pointed in the same direction, "It's over there, but you need to cross a river. Once you cross the river, you'll reach another place."

“Oh…” Momo listened thoughtfully.

Momo stayed there for almost an hour before getting up to leave.

After saying goodbye to the two children, she went back along the same path. She walked to the broken iron railing, looked at it for a few moments, and then left.

Momo spent the day in a state of anticipation and nervousness.

She had never felt a day pass so slowly. She looked forward to the night, and even more so to the hope that Fu Yungui would not return tonight.

As evening fell, she stuffed her documents and money into a small bag and hid it under the bed on her side of the bed.

Having made all the preparations, Momo stood under the eaves on the second floor, gazing into the distance. The sun was about to set, and the orange-red sunset shone on her face. A sense of freedom began to well up in her heart.

But she doesn't dare to expect too much; she has to stay vigilant at all times.

She heard muffled gunshots coming from the training ground not far away; she knew it must be Nar leading the mercenaries in their daily training.

Momo just listened until night fell.

"Momo, dinner's ready," Aunt Sang called from downstairs.

"Okay," she quickly replied and went downstairs.

She didn't know exactly how far she had to go, and she couldn't carry too much stuff to slow her down, so she had to eat her fill tonight.

As soon as Momo sat down at the table, Aunt Sang brought over dinner.

"Momo, it's time to eat." Aunt Sang smiled at her.

Momo looked up at her, then slowly nodded.

She knew that Aunt Sang must have found out what she was thinking.

But for some reason, she trusted her, knowing that she wouldn't tell anyone.

I was only halfway through my dinner when I heard voices outside, neither too close nor too far.

The sound lingered at the doorway for a moment.
