Chapter 148 Huang Momo, is she really that heartless?

Chapter 148 Huang Momo, is she really that heartless?

Torture is not a pleasant experience. Although she knew that this was the retribution Fu Yungui deserved, and that it was even less than a third of what she had suffered, Momo, who was always soft-hearted, still couldn't bring herself to be ruthless.

She's not Fu Yungui; she can't be that ruthless.

At that temperature, if he were left to burn, he would probably die even if he took medicine and didn't wake up soon.

The only thing she's ever done that was really outrageous was throwing the ring yesterday.

Although she did not regret it, she did not receive the sense of revenge she deserved.

Because she never wanted to gain pleasure by tormenting others.

Perhaps what she ever wanted was not this sense of revenge, but simply freedom.

Freedom without any constraints, freedom to see hope and the future.

That's all she wants.

So last night, watching them search for those two pitifully small rings in the heavy rain, she didn't feel very good either.

She didn't like this feeling; in her view, tormenting others was also tormenting herself.

The girl hesitated for a moment in the stairwell, then turned around and went upstairs.

On the bed in the room, the man lay face down, the cool silk quilt only covering his waist, making the muscles on his back more defined, though he looked somewhat languid.

Fu Yungui closed his eyes and sensed that the woman who had left without hesitation just a minute earlier had come back in.

He couldn't help but slightly curl the corners of his mouth, but after a few seconds, he returned to his original expression.

However, he still didn't open his eyes, just lay there, the scalding heat making him feel quite tired.

Momo walked over gently, leaned against the bedside, reached out and touched his arm. Her tone was normal, neither cold nor indifferent, "Fu Yungui, you have a fever. Wake up quickly."

"Even if you need to sleep, wait until you've taken your medicine."

The man remained lying on the bed, but reached out and grabbed her arm, his large, hot hand gripping her tightly, making her instinctively want to pull away.

But she couldn't move at all; he was still holding her tightly, even tighter than before. The man didn't open his eyes, and Momo felt as if he were having a nightmare, acting subconsciously.

Is the fever too high and your mind is fogged up? Otherwise, why are you not reacting at all?

"Fu Yungui," Momo called again, this time her voice a little louder, "Can you hear me?"

The person on the bed stirred slightly, and the girl struggled a few times, trying to break free from his grasp, but the man seemed to be doing it on purpose, holding her very tightly.

Momo felt helpless, thinking that he was faking illness and playing the victim.

All that pity I felt for him just now turned out to be him playing me for a fool.

She hardened her heart and withdrew her hand even more decisively and resolutely.

"Hmm." The man finally snorted. "Huang Momo, are you really that heartless?"

The man's body was like a furnace, his head was dizzy, and even when he spoke, it seemed as if he was emitting heat.

It's really painful.

Upon hearing this, Momo immediately stopped moving, but still retorted, "Am I being heartless?"

"I should have ignored you just now; that would have been truly heartless."

The girl said it casually, but immediately realized something was off.

"No, ignoring you isn't heartless, it's just the way things are."

"Why should I care about you?" the girl said angrily.

The man opened his eyes and looked at her. His heart suddenly softened, and a smile spread across his lips. Because of her words and her somewhat naive appearance, she was indeed quite cute.

When Momo saw him smile, she couldn't help but raise her eyebrows. If he could smile so brightly, it couldn't be too serious. Thinking this, the girl struggled a few more times, trying to pull her hand back, but the man just wouldn't let her have her way.

Helpless, the girl could only say, "Let go of me first, I'll go get you some fever reducer."

Is it okay?

"Okay." This time the man obediently let go.

There was a medicine box in the room. Momo went over and carefully looked through it, but all the medicines inside were for treating external injuries. There were no medicines for treating headaches or fevers at all.

Perhaps in this man's eyes, headaches and fevers were not considered illnesses at all, so he did not take them into account.

As Momo thought this, she couldn't help but look back at the person on the bed. The man had already turned over and sat up, leaning against the edge of the bed and staring straight at her without any attempt to hide it.

Momo's heart sank when he looked at her. She lowered her eyes and said, "I'll go downstairs and ask Aunt Sang for it. She must have some there."

After saying that, he turned around and ran out.

The man leaned against the wall, listening to the soft sound of footsteps going downstairs. He knew she was moving fast, and a smile crept onto his lips.

After a night, the woman's heart seemed to have softened a little.

In the living room on the first floor, Momo went around to find Aunt Sang, but as soon as she reached the kitchen door, she saw two familiar figures.

The girl was taken aback for a moment, then a smile appeared on her face, and she called out, "Big and small."

The two children were squatting there playing when they heard the sound and immediately turned around to look.

"It's Sister Momo." The smiles on the two children's faces were innocent and pure.

"Can you come in now?" Momo asked as she walked over.

Da Da nodded, "Now we can come and go as we please, but Mom told us to stay in the kitchen and not to go anywhere else."

Momo listened thoughtfully, but didn't ask any more questions. Instead, she asked them, "Where is your mother?"

"Mommy went to the back, she'll be right back," Xiaoxiao said, staring at her.

"Oh," Momo responded, then patted the two of them on the head before walking towards the living room next door.

She knew where the medicine box was before, but she couldn't find it when she went just now. It must have been moved by Aunt Sang.

When Aunt Sang returned, Momo went upstairs after getting the medicine. The man had already finished showering and came out, with a towel wrapped around his waist and no other clothes on.

After taking a shower, he felt much lighter and more refreshed.

He was sitting on the sofa drinking iced wine.

Momo glanced at it, then looked at the medicine in her hand, her expression darkening. "Fu Yungui, are you doing this on purpose?"

She had just brought the medicine when he started drinking alcohol.

The man chuckled. "It's alright, beer doesn't count as alcohol."

Momo ignored him completely, dropped the medicine, and went downstairs, not caring whether he took it or not.

Who cares if eating it will cause any problems?

She really did feel sorry for him just now; why did she have to care about him?

"Huang Momo..." the man called out from behind.

"Why are you angry? Just don't drink it anymore."

The girl ignored her completely and disappeared down the stairs without looking back.

Fu Yungui chuckled and then followed him downstairs.
