Chapter 238 It's time to let him rest in peace.

“Fu, Birkin heard you went back to Thailand these past few days and asked me to contact you.”

"Tell him when you're free recently, and he can come to Thailand to see you."

The man's long, slender fingers held a cigarette that was almost completely burned out.

Hearing this, he frowned, then gave a disdainful laugh.

"What, his good brother hasn't stepped down yet?"

Birkin's brother is the Supreme Court of Myanmar.

That's why he had the audacity to secretly engage in the drug and weapons trade.

Upon hearing this, William paused for a moment, then gave a dry laugh and explained, "Not only did he not step down, but he's doing even better now, and the powerful backer behind him is even stronger."

"Recently, he has been encouraging his brother, Perkin, to secretly provoke a conflict with Shan State, presumably for the sake of jurisdiction."

"So I figured I'd need a lot of weapons lately, so I came to you to restock."

Fu Yungui listened without reacting at all.

He had no interest in doing business, so he didn't have the time to care whether they were fighting for jurisdiction.

William looked at the man on the sofa without speaking, then glanced at Shava, who indicated he didn't understand the man either. He then asked directly, "Fu, what do you think?"

The man raised an eyebrow, leaned over the table, and stubbed out his cigarette.

Let's talk about this later.

Business deals don't count until they're finalized, so he naturally doesn't have the time to deal with so many uncertain things.

William listened to his indifferent tone, unable to fathom his thoughts.

However, he only mentioned Birkin casually; his own business was more important today.

However, looking at the man in front of her, she couldn't tell whether he was in a good or bad mood, but in any case, she couldn't let the trip go to waste.

William composed himself, then gave a slightly obsequious smile as he looked at the man opposite him who was fiddling with a lighter.

"Fu, what about mine... what do you think?"

Hearing the voice, Fu Yungui looked up, a half-smile on his face, and asked, "What about you?"

“Pay!” William could tell from his smile that he was pretending to be stupid. “Don’t do that. Considering the other party’s status and position, our boss is determined to close this deal.”

"After all, this is not just a simple business transaction, but also a form of social interaction."

"But the other party specifically requested to cooperate with you."

"What can I do? My boss has given me a firm order this time: we must reach an agreement on this cooperation."

The man found this long string of nonsense amusing and raised an eyebrow at him, "Then what does it have to do with me?"

"Of course it concerns you. If you don't agree, then I'll have to stay at your house until you do."

"Even if you want to kick me out, I'll still wander around your doorstep."

William persisted shamelessly, ignoring the unpleasant look on the man's face.

Sawa, sitting opposite, was speechless upon hearing this. Just moments before, before bringing this foreign devil to the manor, he had confidently told him that he had a good way to persuade Brother Yun to take on this business.

When he asked what it was, the foreigner smiled mysteriously but wouldn't say, saying it was a secret.

Is this the result?

Is this person trying to demonstrate how thick-skinned they are to this man?

The man shrugged and laughed. "William, it seems you've learned the essence of your boss's teachings during these years with him."

William wasn't annoyed at all; instead, he laughed even harder. "Just the tip of the iceberg."

He paused for a moment, then kindly suggested, "If you still disagree, how about I have our boss come and talk to you personally?"

Fu Yungui scoffed, "You fucking have no bottom line at all."

William, the boss, was a notorious womanizer. No matter where he went or what he did, he always had women by his side. Sometimes he would even neglect business and, when the mood struck him, he would want to have his way with them on the spot.

The time was so short, yet they insisted on doing it so many times.

Instead of wasting time, you might as well go to the hospital for treatment.

I don't know what they're so persistent about.

After discussing business with him once, Fu Yungui never wanted to do it again.

Later, in order not to lose Fu Yungui as a major client, he entrusted William to take charge of his client relationship.

William smiled, knowing that his words meant there was probably hope.

Then he immediately added, "The timing is relatively flexible this time; you can choose freely within a month."

The man lowered his eyes slightly, looking at his phone, and remained silent.

At this moment, Sawa, who was sitting next to him, spoke up, "Brother Yun, Anu sent word that they will arrive in Thailand this afternoon."

After hearing this, the man replied, "Okay, I understand."

He then put away his phone, got up from the sofa, and went outside.

The girl sitting on the lake was still sitting obediently in her chair.

Her mind was a jumble of thoughts, yet it seemed as if she wasn't thinking about anything at all. She just sat there, staring at the shimmering water in front of her.

So much so that she didn't even notice the man behind her for quite some time.

It wasn't until Fu Yungui strolled over with his hands in his pockets and sat down beside her that Momo noticed him and suddenly turned around.

"What are you doing here?" the man asked.

Momo didn't answer; instead, she asked in surprise, "How did you know I was here?"

The man chuckled, his veined arm draped over the chair behind the girl, and casually ruffled her hair. "There's no one upstairs. Where else do you think you could go besides taking the back stairs?"

The implication is that it's something you can figure out with a little thought.

Momo smiled, then realized, "That's true."

Coming down the stairs at the back leads to this garden and lake; just by looking out from her room, she can see herself sitting here.

After she finished speaking, she turned her head and continued to stare at the lake.

For some reason, staring at the calm lake for too long always gives me the urge to jump in.

But she has never thought about suicide.

The man's fingers were still twirling her hair, drawing it back to him again and again. "Huang Momo, Anu will be bringing your parents back this afternoon."

"real?"

Momo suddenly raised her head.

Fu Yungui looked at her and said softly, "It's time to let him rest in peace."

Momo remained silent, unsure of what to say.

The man ruffled her hair. "He's been lying in that cold place for a long time. It's time to settle him in properly, isn't it?"

The girl's eyes immediately welled up with tears upon hearing this.

She gazed at the calm lake surface and remained silent for a long time.

All she could see was her father's kind and doting smile; she could almost hear him talking to her.
