Chapter 274 Coaxing an Angry Man

Chapter 274 Coaxing an Angry Man

Qi Qi sat there without daring to move, as if her bottom was stuck to something.

After a long pause, he and Momo slowly turned around to look back.

The man she had been verbally abusing was leaning leisurely against a pillar, arms crossed, staring at her with a faint smile on his lips that made her break out in a cold sweat.

Qi Qi gave a dry laugh, then slowly stood up while holding onto the chair. She glanced at Momo, then turned her gaze back and said with a smile, "Uncle, don't be angry, I was just joking."

"It doesn't mean anything special."

"I just spoke too quickly."

"Please don't take this seriously."

The man raised an eyebrow slightly, still leaning there lazily, without saying a word.

Qi Qi's smile almost froze, but she still didn't receive a reply from the man.

Fu Yungui glanced at her, then turned his gaze to the person next to him.

He remained silent, simply sizing her up and down.

Momo was suddenly stared at by him, and she became inexplicably nervous and guilty. She immediately lowered her eyes to avoid his gaze.

Just now... I think I said those words myself.

And he said it so decisively, even though it was just a joke, he didn't hesitate at all when he said it.

Although she didn't know when this elusive man arrived, he had overheard Qi Qi's words, so she certainly couldn't escape his words either.

Thinking this, Momo also showed a slightly embarrassed smile.

Then she immediately walked towards the man without hesitation, her tone gentle.

How did you know I was here?

By the moonlight, the girl looked up and saw the man's gloomy face, his handsome brows furrowed.

"Have you eaten?" Momo asked again, trying to make conversation.

"If you haven't eaten, I'll have Aunt Pu make you a new meal."

The man still frowned, glancing down at her slightly. "Aren't we already breaking off the engagement? What's there to worry about?"

Momo suddenly stopped, her sour tone even more sour than aged vinegar.

It seems that when this man gets angry, the consequences can be quite severe.

The girl paused for a moment, still smiling, "I was just joking, I didn't really think much of it."

"I was wrong."

"Please don't be angry anymore, okay?"

The man remained silent.

At this moment, Qi Qi, who was behind the two, immediately added, "Yes, Uncle, you didn't hear what we said before, you only heard the last few sentences, which is why there was a misunderstanding."

"Actually, we have legitimate reasons for saying this; we didn't just say it casually."

"I'm not trying to sow discord between you."

Momo was stunned. If the person in front had heard that too, then things would be even worse.

If this man finds out that Qiqi is gossiping about his private life, she'll probably be in even worse shape.

"Um, Qiqi, why don't you go to the living room first?" Momo said.

"Okay, okay." Upon hearing this, the person whose feet were stuck immediately started running as fast as they could, wishing they could grow wings and fly away in a few moments.

They left the scene immediately without any hesitation.

Even the leaves of the flowers on both sides were flung around by her footsteps.

Momo sighed inwardly, then turned her gaze away from the vanished figure.

She looked up, and the moonlight shone into the girl's eyes, making them sparkle.

"Why are you being so stingy?" Momo said, reaching out to take his hand in a gesture of goodwill.

"Don't be angry, I've already admitted my mistake."

The man stared at that alluring face for a moment, his expression softening slightly, but his arrogant demeanor remained unchanged.

He leaned down and pinned the person against the pillar. "One wrong sentence, and that's it?"

Momo was stunned. Even if she said something wrong, it was no use. "Then what else do you want?"

The girl's voice was soft and gentle, and she blinked involuntarily as the man moved closer.

Fu Yungui smiled and said, "What do you think?"

What do you suggest we do?

Momo stared at the blatant hint in his eyes, and her heart suddenly started pounding faster.

The girl immediately closed her thick eyelashes, shifted her attention, and calmed her breathing.

"They've all admitted their mistakes."

"Don't push your luck."

The man's voice sounded like a mosquito's buzz, but it also carried an air of arrogance. He chuckled softly, then crossed his arms and leaned down to stare at her.

"Huang Momo, are you even being reasonable?"

Upon hearing these inexplicable words, the girl immediately opened her eyes to look at him.

"Where have I been unreasonable?"

The man touched the tip of her nose. "Reasonable? Then why are you so self-righteous when you're in the wrong?"

"I didn't," Momo retorted instinctively.

Even though my tone was incredibly polite, it was someone else who seized the opportunity to make a scene.

"Yes, there are even worse ones."

"Not only are they unreasonable, they're also impolite."

"What?" Momo found him completely baffling.

Because he was so close, the man's warm breath would occasionally fall on her cheek, making her feel a little ticklish and making her even more nervous.

Momo suddenly realized that he probably just wanted to bully her.

Why aren't you replying to my messages?

"Isn't it impolite not to reply to someone's messages?"

Upon hearing this, Momo suddenly looked up at him.

She didn't expect him to ask that question so suddenly.

She had almost forgotten about that information, but when he suddenly mentioned it, the word immediately popped into her mind.

"I, I..." The girl's face turned red.

She was embarrassed enough when she saw the message.

I originally planned to reply, but I sat there typing and deleting on my phone for over half an hour and still didn't know what to say.

It seems that whatever he replies to is a tacit admission of his self-proclaimed title.

"I forgot."

The man frowned. "Forgot?"

"Yes." Momo nodded seriously.

Fu Yungui could tell from her tightly pursed lips that she was lying.

But he didn't expose her, and just went along with what she was saying.

"Okay, then I'll give you a response on the spot."

"..." The girl was stunned, her cheeks burning.

She stared at the slight smile on the man's lips and couldn't help but reach out and push him, but he didn't budge. "Who replies to messages on the spot?"

The man casually raised an eyebrow and gestured with his chin, "Of course there are. Aren't you one?"

Momo immediately looked away, "I won't say."

"Okay, if you don't tell me, then you won't be able to sleep tonight."

"It's a good opportunity to test my longest record, so I'll have something to talk about in the future."

The way he said that made it sound like he was being incredibly considerate of her, almost to the point of being overly thoughtful.

"..." Momo suddenly looked up, "You..."

Even under the moonlight, the girl's face was visibly flushed red.

Fu Yungui chuckled, "Don't worry, I've heard everything I needed to hear."

After she finished speaking, Momo's face turned even redder, and she wished she could disappear into the ground.
