Chapter 287 Happy Wedding, My Darling

Chapter 287 Happy Wedding, My Darling

Through the glass window, the lake surface shimmered under the moonlight, while in the dimly lit room, the elegant sound of a piano drifted out faintly.

Momo glanced down, then looked up at the man opposite her.

The man appeared calm and composed, indicating he was in a good mood.

The girl smiled, her crescent-shaped eyes fixed on him, as if they could speak.

She raised her wine glass first and leaned forward slightly.

The man glanced at it; the cat's gaze remained fixed on his face, which he found quite pleasing.

However, he remained calm, holding his wine glass without making any move, and raised his chin, as if waiting for the girl to continue.

Momo stared at him, pursing her lips, and probably understood what he meant.

After a short while, she slowly spoke first.

"Fu Yungui, wishing us a happy marriage."

A simple and brief sentence, yet it revealed the girl's truest thoughts at that moment.

The happiness of marriage was almost overflowing from her eyes.

Fu Yungui pursed his lips slightly, his eyes filled with delight.

He raised his glass forward, his voice both languid and earnest.

"Happy wedding, my darling."

Upon hearing this, Momo blushed instantly. She paused for a moment, but this time she didn't try to avoid him. Even though she was shy, she kept looking at him.

"Mmm," the girl replied after a moment's hesitation.

She then raised her glass and clinked it against his.

The crisp sound of the wine swirling in the glass, clearly reflecting the contours of their faces, made Momo's heart flutter slightly.

Just then, fireworks outside exploded in mid-air.

Imprinted on the glass window, they look like vibrant flowers.

From inside, the sound of the fireworks exploding wasn't loud, but the bright light still caught the girl's eye.

Momo only glanced at it before looking away.

"What a coincidence."

The fireworks arrived just in time, perfectly masking my shyness.

In some ways, it seems as if it were a celebration specifically for them.

The man smiled, then downed the drink in his glass in one gulp.

This time, the girl didn't imitate him. Instead, she took small bites and slowly put the food in her mouth, allowing herself to gradually get used to the taste.

Perhaps it was because of her mood, but this time, she seemed to be able to taste some of the flavor in the wine.

Then he ate one bite after another, as if he were addicted.

“Fu Yungui, I think I can understand why you like drinking so much.”

The man frowned, rested his chin on his hand, and looked at her. "Tell me about it."

"My first impression was that the color was very beautiful, which aroused my curiosity and made me want to taste what such a beautiful liquid would taste like."

"And then?" the man asked again.

Although he didn't think much about it when he drank, and had no particular reason, he drank when he wanted to and didn't drink when he didn't want to, at this moment he just wanted to hear her talk about everything about herself.

"And then there's this taste. Although it's a bit unpleasant at first, it seems to become more and more addictive as you go on."

"It smells a little good, and it's a little sweet."

The man suddenly laughed.

"Huang Momo, you really understand me."

"Hmm?" The girl paused for a moment at the inexplicable question, but still asked gently.

"I feel the same way about you."

The man raised an eyebrow as he spoke, his tone slightly mocking.

"However, unlike you, when I first tasted the wine, I was filled with excitement."

"..." The girl paused for a moment, not yet realizing the deeper meaning behind his words.

After a few seconds, she realized what she meant and said with a smile, "Wait a minute? Are you talking about alcohol?"

The man smiled, pursing his lips. "You're quite quick to react now."

Momo wasn't annoyed by his teasing; instead, she laughed even harder.

She rested her chin on her hands and stared straight at him, looking extremely obedient.

She corrected her voice.

"Mr. Fu Yungui, did you have impure intentions when you met me on that path?"

Now, emboldened by the alcohol, she finally asked the question that had always been on her mind.

Seeing her serious expression, the man still raised an eyebrow and said, seemingly irrationally, "So what?"

"Who told you to take that shortcut?"

Momo couldn't help but laugh when she heard this.

"At that time... I was just thinking about finding some shade, and I thought it would be cooler there than outside."

"I really didn't think that much about it, and I certainly didn't expect to meet you inside."

Fu Yungui slightly curled her lips, grasping the key point, "If you were to choose again now, would you still choose that path?"

This is essentially asking her if she wants to meet him.

Or, it's about whether I regret meeting him.

The girl paused slightly upon hearing this, then shook her head without hesitation.

If that's really the case, then she definitely won't take that path.

The man frowned.

"Why?"

Momo glanced at his slightly darkened face and couldn't help but chuckle, "Because if I really had a choice, I wouldn't want our first meeting to be so tense."

"It even left a very bad impression."

"Perhaps in that case, we wouldn't have had to go through so much suffering and torment."

Upon hearing this, the man's expression softened a bit; this answer sounded quite good.

But then she asked coolly, "What if you don't run into them again later? Won't you regret it?"

The girl paused for a moment; she hadn't really thought about that question.

However, she felt that if they were meant to be, they would eventually meet; it was just a matter of time.

"Didn't you see him that night at the ball?"

She said it seriously.

"Alright."

I remember this matter very clearly.

As the man spoke, he casually picked up his wine glass and took a few more sips.

The girl stared at him for a few moments, then suddenly remembered something.

"By the way, could you tell Sawa to let those girls go?"

The man knew immediately that she was trying to meddle, but he was already used to it.

This tendency to be overly compassionate isn't new.

Even if Sawa sends them back safely, it won't change anything; they'll still have to go through what's to come.

As long as she's happy.

He glanced at it and gave a curt reply, "Okay, I understand."

The girl was surprised by his quick agreement. She paused for a moment, then asked, "Can I... let them stay here?"

"Stay here?" the man couldn't help but ask.

Upon hearing this, Momo hesitated for a moment, then finally spoke.

"It's not here, it's at Aunt Sang's place. There are a lot of people at that base, and Aunt Sang and the others are a bit overwhelmed. Letting them work there would be a way of helping Aunt Sang, is that okay?"

Judging from these words, it's clear that they had already thought it through.

It just came up casually now.

Without the slightest hesitation, the man said, "Do whatever you want."

Seeing that he agreed, the girl's eyes lit up with a smile, and the words of thanks came out naturally, "Thank you, husband."
