Chapter 29 Let's see how you perform

Chapter 29 Let's see how you perform

Momo was left standing there alone, waiting to be tortured by the gaze of the world.

The man remained expressionless, sitting there watching her with a whiskey glass in his hand, without saying a word.

When the storm is about to break, everything seems calm.

Momo felt a little scared.

The fear of unknown misfortunes far outweighs the fear of facing them directly; it is a torment that afflicts both the mind and body, and that is what she fears most.

"Fu Yungui..." She couldn't hold back any longer and called his name softly, her voice as delicate as a kitten's.

As Fu Yungui listened, for some reason, the anger in his heart suddenly vanished.

"What?" He softened his expression, and his handsome eyebrows instantly relaxed.

“As long as you don’t make me serve… serve men,” she even found the mention of it embarrassing and difficult to talk about, “you can arrange everything else. I can be your waiter here for free.”

She had learned from Qiao Ya in the changing room that this was his territory. So, she figured she could work for him for free, since hiring someone would cost a lot of money.

"Waitress?" Fu Yungui raised an eyebrow, leaning back on the sofa with a smile, trying to tease her. "The waitresses here serve men, no... there are also waitresses who serve women. Which one do you want to be?"

"..." Momo choked, "I... I meant normal things, like serving tea and the like."

Momo felt that there must be some normal waiters here. Although prostitution is not illegal in Thailand, it can't all be like this. There must be some normal ones too.

"Okay, let's see how you do."

"You agreed?" Momo was surprised, and the corners of her mouth lifted slightly. Seeing that he agreed so easily, her face instantly lit up with joy.

"I already said it depends on your performance," Fu Yungui said impatiently. Does he not understand human language? He'd made himself perfectly clear, yet he still asked. He's really stupid.

Momo completely ignored his unfriendly tone and acted as if she hadn't heard anything. It seemed that he was in a good mood at the moment, otherwise he wouldn't be so easy to talk to.

Momo felt that this man's emotions changed even faster than a child's; he was always unpredictable.

However, half an hour later, Momo belatedly realized that she had been a little too happy. This man was actually torturing her in a roundabout way, not letting her rest for a moment.

One minute I want her to bring me wine, the next I want a different wine, then I want coffee—I have so many demands. In short, I'm just torturing myself in a roundabout way.

Momo carried a tray and moved back and forth between the bar and the corner. Her high heels were so thin that her feet hurt after walking a lot.

Around 9:30 in the morning, the man leaned against the dimly lit sofa in the corner and closed his eyes, allowing Momo to finally rest her feet behind the bar.

She borrowed a landline from the bartender to call Fu Qiyu, worried that if Fu Qiyu came to her room and found her not there, she would be anxious.

"Momo, I was just about to call you. Where did you go?" Fu Qiyu was standing at her room door, which was open but she wasn't inside.

Momo had already prepared an excuse to deal with her so as not to worry her, but she couldn't lie about where she was, so she chose to tell only half the story: "I'm at Bar 808, using the landline here, so I don't need to roam."

"808?" Fu Qiyu found it strange. That was also her uncle's territory. She couldn't help but worry. "What are you doing at the bar so early in the morning? Why didn't you call me to come with you?"

"I didn't come to the bar on purpose. When I woke up this morning, I suddenly remembered that I said I would bring back Thai souvenirs for my mother before I came to Thailand, but I've been busy these past few days and haven't bought them yet."

Momo chuckled as she spoke, deliberately making her tone more relaxed on the phone.

"I was leaving around noon, so I got up early and took a taxi to buy this. But this street is really long, and I got a little tired from walking around. I happened to see this bar, so I went in to rest and also tried their special Chunxi Green Coconut Wine."

Hearing her say that, Fu Qiyu felt a little relieved. "Then you can ask me to come with you. I'm very familiar with the area, and I can take you there to have some fun."

"You're newlywed, I'm afraid your husband might have a problem with me if I bother you too early," Momo joked with her.

Fu Qiyu smiled and stopped doubting anything. "You're overthinking it. I'll come find you. Just stay in room 808 and don't move. I'll be there in a bit."

“No need,” Momo immediately refused. “I’m going back right away. It’s so hot outside today, don’t come out.”

“It’s okay, I’ll drive there,” Fu Qiyu insisted.

"Really, it's not necessary. I'll be back right away. Okay, I'll stop now. It's not good to use someone else's phone for too long." Momo was afraid that she would insist, so she quickly hung up the phone.

After pressing the call button, she breathed a sigh of relief. Luckily, she hadn't given herself away, otherwise things would have definitely become more complicated.

All she wants now is to be able to board the plane safely at 2 p.m. and get away from this troublesome place, so what she fears most right now is something unexpected happening.

As long as nothing unexpected happens, she can choose to endure whatever comes her way.

The clock on the wall was about to strike ten o'clock, and Momo continued to rest in the small room behind the bar.

She took off her high heels and placed them aside. Both of her ankles were blistered and painful to the touch.

She rarely wears such high heels, and today was the first time she wore them and walked a long way in them. It was really tiring and hurt her feet.

Not long after I sat down, I heard Qiao Ya's voice from outside.

"Little sister, Brother Yun is calling you over."

Helpless, Momo had no choice but to lower her head, put her shoes back on, and go out.

What a persistent nuisance! Why does it take so little time to sleep?

She felt that getting to know Fu Yungui in this life must be because she had committed too many sins in her past life, and she had to pay for them in this life.

When she got there, she saw Fu Yungui and Shawa sitting on the sofa in the corner, drinking. The man seemed not to notice her coming, glancing at her silently before turning back to talk to Shawa.

Seeing him like this, Momo felt relieved and immediately went over to stand at the bar next to her.

A moment later, several policemen suddenly burst in from outside. The one in the lead looked around and then headed straight for them.

Momo knew from their aggressive demeanor that they were no ordinary people, so she quickly stepped back, afraid that she might be involved.

Upon seeing this, Anu immediately stepped forward to stop them, asking, "What brings you here?"

The lead policeman smiled, pushed Anu aside, and stared at Fu Yungui as he spoke, "Mr. Anu, why are you so agitated? Are you hiding something when you see us coming?"

“Mr. Gusen is really funny. Why should we have something to hide?” Sawa couldn’t help but get up and talk to them.

Fu Yungui remained calmly seated, drinking.

He and Gusen were old rivals. Gusen had been trying to find evidence of his arms dealing, but to no avail. He knew Gusen had done it, but he just couldn't find the proof.

“Mr. Pason, we’re just here to ask you something, are you sure you don’t want to bother us?” Gusen said with a slight smile.

"If I were to say I mind, it would be too late, and I can't just kick you out," Fu Yungui said with a smile.
