Chapter 40 After all, we're quite familiar with each other.
Huang Sanlin smiled, said nothing more, and quickly led the guests inside.
Fu Yungui nodded slightly, then followed Huang Sanlin forward, brushing past Momo. However, the man didn't even glance at her, as if the two had never met before.
Momo hid behind the crowd, shrinking her head to avoid any possible eye contact with him, but she couldn't help but sneak peeks. Seeing him walking forward so resolutely without turning his head, as if he didn't even see her, she felt a little relieved. She didn't even want to go in anymore and just wanted to go home and hide away.
But what reason should I give to explain this to my parents?
She couldn't think of anything suitable for the time being.
"Momo, what are you standing there for? Come in quickly." After a group of people ushered the guests in, Su He followed behind and stopped halfway, calling out to her.
"Oh, I see." Momo was in a low mood, but she still patiently responded to her mother. "Or I can just wait here for Brother Bianxi to come over? Anyway, I won't have anything to do inside, and I'll just get in the way."
“Bian Xi won’t be here for a while. Come in first. It’s so cold outside. You’ll catch a cold. Besides, didn’t you promise your father you’d help him entertain the guests today? You can’t go back on your word.” Su He spoke to her in a soft, gentle voice.
"Okay." Seeing that she had no chance to refuse, Momo had no choice but to go with her.
She knew that running away wasn't a solution. Even if he hadn't seen her, Shava and Anu must have seen her when they were walking behind. She even saw Shava staring at her for a few seconds as he passed by.
If he sees it, he will definitely tell Fu Yungui, and Fu Yungui will know even if she doesn't know.
Besides, this isn't Thailand. Her parents are with her, and Bian Xi is here too. She's no longer alone. What does she have to be afraid of?
With this thought in mind, Momo became much bolder. She held her breath to calm herself down and then followed Su He inside.
The most luxurious private room in the villa was located at the very back. The room was extremely spacious. Momo followed Su He inside and saw Fu Yungui sitting in the main seat, with Anu following closely to his left. Next to Anu was Shava. She knew that both of them were definitely hiding guns under their suits.
This time, Fu Yungui did not ignore her. Instead, from the moment she entered, his gaze remained fixed on her and never looked away.
Huang Sanlin noticed that he was staring at his daughter and assumed that he was curious about her identity, so he took the initiative to introduce her, "This is my daughter, her name is Momo."
Then he spoke to Momo, "Momo, come over and say hello to Mr. Fu."
Momo looked up at the sound and met his gaze directly. His gaze seemed normal, not particularly intense, but Momo felt that something was not quite normal about it.
The man had taken off his suit jacket, and the sleeves of his thin white shirt underneath were casually rolled up, revealing the taut muscle lines on his arms, exuding his masculine charm.
As Momo looked at him, she suddenly remembered the day she left Thailand. At the airport, he had his arm around her neck, and the hot heat of his body burned her skin. She could still feel that terrifying sensation now.
This man has left her with a deep-seated trauma.
"Mr. Fu." She obediently greeted him as her father wished, as if they had never met.
Looking at the person she hadn't seen for several months, Fu Yungui felt that she couldn't quite put her finger on what had changed. Perhaps it was her outfit today that made her look somewhat alluring.
Her long, slightly wavy hair framed her fair, oval face, which was as smooth as cream. Her bright, gentle eyes, especially those beneath her delicate, arched eyebrows, were captivating.
But his timid and hesitant nature hasn't changed at all.
Still timid as a little mouse, shrinking back and looking around nervously.
However, it seems she's trying to pretend she doesn't know her.
Fu Yungui scoffed lightly, the smile on his lips unreadable.
He wasn't going to make her happy so easily.
"Momo. Why are you being so formal? It wouldn't be wrong for you to call me 'Uncle' according to seniority, since we're quite familiar with each other, aren't we?"
His words surprised everyone present, and then everyone turned to look at Momo at the door.
Momo never expected him to bring up their acquaintance in front of so many people. She was completely unprepared, and even if she had, she wouldn't know how to handle it. She didn't know how far this man would push things before he was satisfied; she had no idea.
Being stared at by so many people made her even more nervous, especially since they were trying to get an explanation for her statement.
"Momo, do you know Mr. Fu?"
At this moment, Su He spoke first in a gentle voice. Although Mr. Fu is Thai, and Momo had been to Thailand recently, it couldn't be such a coincidence, could it?
After all, Thailand isn't that small, and given Mr. Fu's status and position, he's not someone you can just meet on the street. How could it be such a coincidence that they met?
"Yes." She sighed softly, having no choice but to tell the truth, "Mr. Fu is Qi Qi's uncle."
"Really?" Su He could hardly believe it was such a coincidence.
She turned to look at Fu Yungui again, only to see that the man was still staring at Momo with a very faint smile, without saying a word.
Su He's heart tightened slightly, a strange premonition instantly welling up inside her. But the next second, she felt she was overthinking it.
"It's true, it's a bit of a coincidence." Momo gave an awkward smile. But deep down, she didn't believe it was just an ordinary coincidence.
He clearly came with premeditation.
"That's quite a coincidence." Huang Sanlin smiled and agreed. Hearing that it was an acquaintance, he immediately felt at ease. "Then it's only right for Momo to call him uncle."
"Yes, Mr. Fu is so young, he might feel uncomfortable being called 'uncle'," Assistant Xiaolin chimed in with a joke.
The man said calmly, "I'm used to it."
"That's true. I have a niece at home who's about the same age as Momo, so she's probably used to being called 'uncle' by now," Huang Sanlin said with a smile.
Fu Yungui nodded slowly, his brows furrowing slightly, and still glancing at Momo as he said, "So I don't mind having another person call me uncle."
"That's right, that's right." Huang Sanlin always smiled and agreed, going along with his idea, "After all, Momo and Qiqi are as close as sisters."
“You should call him uncle.” Huang Sanlin said, turning slightly to the side and gesturing to his daughter.
Momo understood her father's meaning perfectly well, but this was the first time she had defied him. She remained silent the whole time. Fu Yungui wanted her to call him "Uncle," but she wouldn't give in so easily and let him get his way.
Seeing that his daughter was unwilling, Huang Sanlin had no choice but to give up and then tried to change the subject.
