Chapter 46 Brother Yun Doesn't Eat People
On the eve of the Lunar New Year, everyone was busy. Bian Xi would get off work very late every day. Only Momo was free. Besides going to her directing class, she accompanied Su He to buy New Year's goods. Even though the two families had agreed to spend the New Year together this year, Su He still wanted to buy some things to add some festive cheer to the family.
They still prefer to go to bustling markets, where they can experience the slowly disappearing festive atmosphere of the Lunar New Year.
Momo followed behind her mother and saw the donkey rolls. She immediately thought of Qiqi, who was far away in Thailand. She stopped and said, "Mom, I'll buy some and send some to Qiqi. She really likes these."
“Sure.” Su He thought for a moment, “Then let me also send some pastries from Chen’s. I’ll go buy some later.”
"Okay." Momo smiled.
After the two of them walked around for a while, they found that the large bags they were carrying were all destined for Thailand, and there were hardly any items they wanted to take home. Momo couldn't help but laugh when she saw this.
"I might as well just mail it here, to save the trouble of picking it up and dropping it off."
“That works too,” Su He agreed, then smiled and said, “I’ll have Uncle Zhang take you to the nearby courier station, and you can send it yourself, okay? I’ll go buy some more things, otherwise we’ll come back empty-handed.”
"Okay." Momo nodded obediently. "Then, Mom, I'll go straight back after I finish sending the package."
“Okay, Uncle Zhang can come pick me up then,” Su He said.
"Okay."
After Uncle Zhang dropped her off at the courier station, Momo told him to go back and pick up Su He. She was worried that her mother would have too many things to carry, and since she didn't have much herself, she could take a taxi back later, which would be more convenient.
After reminding her to be careful, Uncle Zhang drove back.
After sending the package, she sent the tracking number to Qiqi and then walked to the roadside to hail a taxi to go home.
A short while later, a black Mercedes drove up from the west.
Momo glanced at it, then looked down at her phone. The car she had booked was less than a kilometer away, so it should be not far behind this car.
The Mercedes stopped right in front of her, and someone got out.
Momo was looking at the messages on her phone when she heard a sound in front of her. She looked up to take a look, but before she could see who it was, everything went black.
When she woke up again, the car had just stopped at the door.
Sawa, who was sitting in front of her, turned around and smiled at her. "Are you happy to see me?"
When Momo saw Sawa's appearance, she froze for a moment, her hand gripping the leather seat next to her sinking deeper and deeper.
She held her breath, completely at a loss.
"Little sister, get out of the car." Shava opened the car door and let her out.
The familiar voice and words instantly transported her back to that day on her way to the airport in Thailand.
The person sitting in the back of the car remained motionless. Sawa looked down at her expression; the girl seemed to be still in a state of tension and fear, and hadn't quite come to her senses yet.
He chuckled and joked, "Little sister, don't be so scared. Brother Yun doesn't eat people."
"But if you keep lingering here, I can't guarantee he won't get angry and eat you up."
Momo told herself to stay calm, not to confront him directly, and not to be afraid of anything.
She secretly touched her pocket.
"No need to waste time, the phone is with me, I'll keep it for you for now." Sawa waved the item in his hand.
Momo immediately stopped what she was doing. She should have thought of it sooner, but she just wouldn't give up.
Sawa didn't have time to waste with her any longer. Regardless of her wishes, he pulled her out of the car and dragged her into the house.
Momo struggled incessantly in his hands, as if with each step she took, she was getting closer to the dangerous vortex.
Sawa pulled her around the living room to the lakeside at the back. In the twilight, the man's broad back stood out against the light and shadow.
"Brother Yun, the person has been brought." Sha Wa said from behind, then left without waiting for a reply, leaving Momo behind.
Momo stood there blankly, staring at his back, without taking another step forward.
Fu Yungui was wearing a black shirt with the cuffs rolled up halfway up, sitting there leisurely drinking red wine.
A gust of cold wind blew by, and Momo shivered involuntarily. She reached out and wrapped her upper body with her hands to keep warm.
Fu Yungui put down his wine glass and turned to look at her.
The fluffy clump remained motionless there.
He couldn't help but laugh, resting his chin on his arm on the table as he watched her with great interest, then beckoned her over.
Momo could never quite figure out his seemingly good mood, so she didn't dare to resist at all. She took each step forward with a heavy heart.
It's been a month since I last saw her, and this woman seems different again.
It seems that her timid nature has resurfaced, but she's not as docile as before; instead, she's like a little wildcat who's seen a bit of the world.
Because of nervousness and defensiveness, Momo's hands, hanging at her sides, were clenched tightly, making her look like a little wildcat ready to pounce on someone at any moment.
Fu Yungui lowered his eyes slightly, staring at the ring on her hand, finding it really irritating.
His expression changed instantly, and he immediately reached out and pulled her over. Momo's body swayed with his rough action. As if she had a premonition, she immediately clenched her hands tightly after regaining her balance.
"Trying to hide?" The man gripped her wrist tightly, and Momo felt as if he was crushing the bones beneath her skin. The pain brought tears to her eyes.
Her wrist went limp, and she loosened her clenched fist.
Fu Yungui quickly pulled the ring off her hand, held it up, and looked at it for a few moments.
The material was ordinary, and the diamonds were pitifully small, yet she still treasured it like a precious gem. It was as if she'd never seen anything good in her life.
Fu Yungui couldn't help but scoff, pulling the ring back into her palm and clenching it tightly. It seemed that the man behind this ring was still quite important to her.
"What are you going to do? Give it back to me."
Momo struggled to snatch the ring from his hand, but the height difference between them was too great, and she couldn't even reach halfway up his arm when she jumped.
Seeing how earnestly she tried to snatch it, the man deliberately teased her by raising his hand even higher and bending down slightly to look at her.
"You like it that much?"
Fu Yungui raised an eyebrow and asked her.
Momo's face flushed red, but she still didn't give up struggling. "Of course, this was a gift from my fiancé. I like it very much and value it highly, so please return it to me."
When Fu Yungui heard her mention the word "fiancé," he immediately felt a surge of anger.
Very well, his favorite thing is to steal other people's things.
"If you like it, then I don't."
He immediately tossed it into the lake next to him.
"What are you doing?" Momo immediately ran towards the lake with the ring.
Then, I watched helplessly as my ring vanished into the water. The ring I cherished, the one that held all my hopes for a happy life, disappeared without a trace, leaving barely a ripple.
