Chapter 47 Possessing Her Ring Finger
"What are you doing?" Fu Yungui forced her back step by step. "Didn't you see it?"
“I find it an eyesore, so it must go away.”
"Do you understand?"
Momo calmed herself down, trying her best to suppress her anger. Since what's done is done, and there's no chance of getting the ring back, no matter how much she struggled, it would be futile.
"Did you get my permission before getting engaged so casually?" Fu Yungui cupped half of her face with one hand, making her look up at him.
“Fu Yungui…” Momo called his name somewhat angrily, feeling that his question was really unreasonable.
"It's me who's getting engaged, not you, so why should I need your consent?"
Although she desperately wanted to hide her dissatisfaction, she was still a person with feelings, and her tone still contained some minor resentment.
However, aside from the tone being a bit harsh, she felt that there was nothing wrong with the statement itself.
Fu Yungui smiled. "Not bad at all. You've even learned to talk back since you came back. It seems you've really grown bolder since you returned."
"It seems you really didn't listen to me."
"So what if we're engaged?" The man's tone was full of mockery.
"Do you think you're safe once you're engaged?" Fu Yungui said, laughing involuntarily. "Or do you think I won't easily touch other people's things?"
"You should be glad you weren't foolish enough to marry him, otherwise I would definitely kill him."
"Otherwise, you would really think I was joking with you from beginning to end."
Momo was terrified by the sinister look on his face. She trembled all over and was forced to stop under the flower stand.
The man looked down into her eyes, pinning her against the wall with one hand.
She couldn't bear his threatening gaze and subconsciously tried to look away, but the man grabbed her chin and pulled her back as soon as she turned her head.
"Huang Momo, this is my last warning to you. Only I can end this game."
"If you don't like someone, just drag them into it. I don't care anyway. After all, it's a game, and the more people there are, the more fun it is."
"But you need to think this through carefully, so don't come crying to me later."
Momo's face was half red from being pinched, and her watery eyes were filled with tears.
After Fu Yungui finished speaking, he beckoned to the person behind him, and Anu immediately understood and brought over the box containing the ring.
The man took it, opened it, took out the ring, then grabbed her hand and quickly slipped it onto her ring finger.
Momo didn't dare to struggle at all, letting him encircle her finger with the ring, as if binding her freedom along with it.
As dusk fell, the enormous diamond ring on the woman's slender finger gleamed with golden light, captivating the eye for a moment more than the shimmering lake behind her.
But its owner showed no joy; on the contrary, his face was filled with heartache and helplessness.
What should she do? What can she use to fight against this man in front of her?
"Don't even think about taking it off. If I ever see it not in your hand, I'll chop off my finger."
“However…” the man chuckled, leaning close to her ear, “you should think carefully about whose things you chopped off.”
Momo's face was stubborn, but she remained silent throughout.
Fu Yungui glanced at her and immediately felt pleased. He loved seeing her angry yet helpless expression.
The man turned and sat down on the chair next to him, picked up the wine glass next to him and took a sip, then spoke slowly and deliberately.
"Anyway, losing one or two fingers won't make a difference, so it'll be enough for you to rebel against me a few times. It'll also be a good test of how deep his love for you is. It's killing two birds with one stone, which is pretty good."
Momo leaned against the flower stand with her head slightly lowered, her hand tightly gripping the ring on her ring finger. Fu Yungui looked at her furrowed brows and expression, as if she wanted to crush it, throw it under her feet, and stomp on it a few times to feel satisfied.
He stared at it for a few moments, then looked at her face. "What, do you want to compare hardness with it?"
Do you need my help?
Momo choked, startled, and immediately withdrew her hand, standing there blankly, just like a child being punished by their parents.
The setting sun was about to disappear below the water's surface, its afterglow bathing the girl's gentle profile.
Fu Yungui ignored her standing there and started drinking by himself.
Winter nights always come quickly; before long, the sky is no longer bright enough to see any light.
Momo was afraid that if she didn't go back soon, her mother would worry about her, especially since her phone was still in Shawa's hands. If no one answered the phone, her mother would definitely be worried to death.
But she didn't dare to speak.
But time waits for no one, and she couldn't stay here too long. She didn't want to stay here either and hoped to leave as soon as possible.
But the man was leisurely leaning back in his chair, playing with throwing pebbles into the lake, seemingly having no intention of leaving.
She had no choice but to bite the bullet and try her best.
Thinking this, Momo leaned her head closer to the man, but after taking two steps, she pulled her foot back.
No, what if he's in a bad mood and rejects it outright? Then she'll have no way out at all.
But if you don't speak out, you'll just keep getting stuck here, without seeing even a glimmer of hope.
Momo was conflicted.
She didn't know what the best option was.
Fu Yungui had been watching her out of the corner of his eye for a long time; that shimmering white figure was darting back and forth in the darkness.
"What, are you trying to lose weight through this?" the man teased.
Momo was pacing back and forth in thought when she was startled by his sudden noise. She reached out and touched her chest to calm her racing heart.
Then she slowly walked towards him and stood a short distance behind him. The distance was just right, neither too close nor too far.
Fu Yungui saw through her thoughts at a glance, but he didn't bring it up directly, wanting to see how long she would keep agonizing over it.
“Fu Yungui…” Momo swallowed hard and called out to him boldly.
"What?" His voice was languid, and he seemed to be in a good mood.
Momo took a deep breath and boldly asked, "When can I go back?"
Fu Yungui suddenly smiled. After hesitating for so long, he finally said it. I don't know why he hesitated for such a small thing.
In that time, I could have said that sentence eight hundred times.
"Tomorrow morning... Anu will take you back, no rush." The man's voice was calm.
Upon hearing this, Momo immediately panicked and rushed to him, her voice even softer, "No, Fu Yungui, please, let me go home now. I can't stay out overnight; my mother will worry."
The man leaned back, raised an eyebrow, and slowly shook his head as he looked at her.
"We're getting married, so what's wrong with spending the night outside?" Fu Yungui retorted.
“That’s a different matter. I’ve never spent the night at a strange man’s house since I was a child.”
