Chapter 9 The two went on a trip
When she returned to her room, she was exhausted, both physically and mentally. She collapsed onto the bed, motionless. The short day felt like half a century to her.
That man, a ruthless man like a devil, terrified her more than any nightmare she had ever had before.
Momo didn't know how long she had been in bed until she felt a little better. She struggled to get out of bed, glanced at her phone, and saw that it was already past 2 a.m.
There was a message from Qi Qi on the screen, sent two hours ago, when she was still with Fu Yungui, and the phone was still in the hands of that man named Anu.
Qiqi reminded her not to forget to bring her swimsuit and various sun protection products tomorrow, as she was going to take her to Phuket to play in the water and eat all kinds of delicious food.
Momo stared at Qi Qi's caring words above, her nose tingling slightly. She longed to tell Qi Qi what was on her mind, but she couldn't.
If Qi Qi knew, she would definitely offend Fu Yungui in a moment of impulse for her own sake, and the situation might be even worse than it is now.
Forget it, I'll just bear with it myself. Anyway, she won't be entangled with him for long. If Qi Qi gets caught up in this too, she definitely won't have a good time after she leaves.
Thinking this, she checked her phone again to see what flights were available back to China. She found that there were still tickets available for a flight at 2 PM the day after tomorrow, so she booked it without hesitation.
After the trip tomorrow, she will tell Qiqi that she needs to go back early. She will make up some excuse to explain so that Qiqi won't worry.
After Momo had figured out her plan, she got up to wash up. The dress she was wearing was completely unwearable. It was specially prepared for her by Qi Qi, and now it was covered with dried cake frosting, making it impossible to see the ethereal beauty of the dress it once was.
She leaned closer to the full-length mirror and looked at herself. She was covered in dirt and looked like a refugee who had come from somewhere to escape famine.
The blood that Fu Yungui had splattered on his face when he swung the whip had already dried and was stuck tightly to the skin of his cheek.
She slowly took off the dress and placed it on the ground beside her. She planned to wash it clean when she returned tomorrow and take it back with her when she went back to China. It was a gift from Qi Qi, and she wanted to keep it as a souvenir.
By the time she finished washing up and returned to bed, it was already past three o'clock. Dawn was about to break in the east, and she needed to hurry up and go to sleep.
She thought she would be unable to sleep because of her overthinking, but after taking a hot shower, she fell asleep in bed shortly after lying down.
I was probably just too tired; physical exhaustion had completely overwhelmed the last vestiges of mental clarity.
The next morning, Momo was awakened by the maid's knocking. It was just past 8:30 when Qiqi asked the maid to wake her up for breakfast.
After she responded, she struggled to get out of bed. However, once she sat up, the first thing she did was check her phone to see if there were any messages from Fu Yungui, as she was afraid of receiving a message from him first thing in the morning.
If it really is true, then she would have to tell Qi Qi to cancel today's trip. But canceling a pre-arranged trip at the last minute wouldn't be very polite, and the most important thing is to figure out what reason she can give so that Qi Qi won't become suspicious.
She was afraid she wouldn't be able to lie to Qi Qi.
She received three messages on her phone screen, and her heart skipped a beat. She forced herself to click on them.
The moment she saw the note, her anxiety instantly subsided.
It turned out to be a message from her mother, reminding her to take good care of herself while she was here, and asking when she planned to go back.
Momo immediately replied to her mother's message to put her mind at ease.
After replying to the message, she thought again, what if he ordered her to leave with Qi Qi, and then left halfway or after they arrived at their destination?
Momo is caught in a dilemma again.
Well, let's just take it one step at a time. She didn't want to think about anything more; it would only add to her worries, and it seemed like there was nothing else she could solve.
The weather in Thailand is very hot at noon, so it's not suitable to go out. Therefore, they have to go out before 10 o'clock.
Momo quickly washed up, packed everything she needed into a small bag, and carried it on her back. Today she wore long sleeves and pants, and a very thick sun hat that completely covered her face.
She was afraid of getting a tan, but even more afraid of sunburn. She didn't know what the sun was like in Phuket, so she decided to be well-equipped.
Fu Qiyu had also finished packing and was waiting for her at the restaurant. Her luggage had been handed to the car by the maid, and when Momo came over, her luggage was taken away from her.
"Momo, come and eat quickly. I asked Aunt Pu to cook Chinese breakfast for you today." Fu Qiyu sat there smiling and waving to her.
Momo immediately ran over, took off her hat, and looked at the sumptuous dishes on the table, feeling somewhat moved.
“I noticed you didn’t eat much yesterday, so I’ll give you something different today,” Fu Qiyu said.
Momo sat down next to her, her eyes filled with gratitude. "Qiqi, thank you so much. You're so thoughtful."
"This is nothing, it's not even a fraction of what you've done for me." Fu Qiyu smiled and asked the maid standing next to her to serve her a bowl of cool porridge.
Momo took it, "Where are Grandpa and the others?"
“Grandpa and Mom and Dad all went out, so I asked Adi to go with Grandpa so we could have some alone time,” Fu Qiyu said with a smile. Adi is her new husband.
Momo couldn't help but smile, "Actually, it's okay if he comes along."
"That won't do, it's too inconvenient. You've come all this way, and it will be difficult for us to meet after you go back." Fu Qiyu couldn't help but feel a little disappointed as she said this.
"I feel like I won't be used to life without you by my side all of a sudden."
They used to see each other every day, but now they might not see each other even once a year.
"Me too." Momo pursed her lips as she spoke. She might really have to get used to living alone after returning to China.
"Let's not think about that now. Let's eat quickly, and then we'll set off. I've already made plans, and this time I'm determined to make sure you have a thoroughly enjoyable and happy time," Fu Qiyu said.
"good."
After finishing their meal, the two immediately set off. They planned to go to Patong Beach first, and then directly from there to Phi Phi Island for the night.
The water quality at Patong Beach is average, but the scenery is stunning when the weather is nice.
Around noon, they arrived at their destination.
Fu Qiyu first took Momo to a nearby restaurant for lunch, and then they found a place to rest for a while. The midday temperature was too hot to go to the beach; it would be easy to get sunburned.
Momo sought respite from the heat under a coconut tree tent, and looking up, she saw the turquoise sea not far away, sparkling like an emerald in the sunlight.
She and Qi Qi lay side by side on the beach chairs, each holding an ice pop and leisurely eating it.
