Chapter 10 In Danger

Chapter 10 In Danger

"The sun is shining brightly today. After watching the sunset here, we'll head straight to Tonsai Bay on Phi Phi Island. I've already booked a hotel there. Tomorrow morning, we'll go snorkeling to see the fish, and in the afternoon, we'll go out to sea. How about that?"

Fu Qiyu told her about her plans for the next two days and asked for her opinion. If she had her own ideas, they could change their plans at the last minute.

“Sure, that’s a full schedule,” Momo replied, then casually mentioned her own idea, “I’ll have some fun. After tomorrow, I’ll be going back the day after tomorrow afternoon.”

Upon hearing this, Fu Qiyu immediately turned to look at her, "Why are you in such a hurry?"

Momo smiled, took a sip of her coconut milk, and deliberately avoided looking at Qiqi. "My mom said she misses me and wants me to go back soon."

Fu Qiyu immediately squinted and shook her head at her, looking incredulous. "No, Xiao Momo, there must be more to it than that."

“You’re definitely hiding something from me. You’re even embarrassed to look at me,” Fu Qiyu said again.

She knew Momo's personality all too well; when she lied, she would easily avoid eye contact. Before anyone else could even tell, she would already be feeling guilty.

Momo felt a little embarrassed by Qiqi's seemingly inquisitive expression, and smiled shyly. However, the two of them had always been very open with each other, so she no longer wanted to hide anything from Qiqi.

“My mother said… Bian Xi is back.”

"You still remember Bian Xi, right? I mentioned her to you before." When Bian Xi was mentioned, Momo's expression unconsciously became a little unnatural.

Fu Qiyu smiled, finally understanding what the girl was shy about. But the more embarrassed she was, the more she wanted to tease her. She always loved seeing Momo blush and bewildered. "Of course, isn't it your childhood sweetheart who's far away overseas?"

"Well... we wouldn't call us childhood sweethearts, we're just friends who've known each other since we were little." After saying that, Momo unconsciously lowered her head to drink the coconut milk in her hand.

"You're already engaged, so isn't that enough?"

"The engagement was just something our parents talked about jokingly before, it doesn't count," Momo explained to her.

Fu Qiyu followed suit, took a sip of the coconut milk next to her, and calmly said, "You don't need to explain, I understand."

"Really, no." Momo was afraid that she wouldn't believe her, so she insisted on explaining clearly.

Fu Qiyu found her earnestness somewhat amusing, "Okay, okay, I believe everything you say."

Momo could tell from Qiqi's expression that she didn't really believe her and was just trying to appease her. However, she didn't explain anything further. After all, when facing Bian Xi, that inexplicable feeling was really hard to explain.

However, they haven't seen each other for several years, and perhaps some things have changed.

Seeing her brows furrow slightly and her face showing obvious frustration, Fu Qiyu knew she was overthinking things again. He immediately changed the subject and joked, "Okay, okay, I'll reluctantly let you go back."

Momo was amused by her tone and replied in a go-with-the-flow manner, "Then thank you to my Qiqi."

"No need for thanks, as long as you're happy, I'm happy too," Fu Qiyu said, becoming a little sentimental again.

Momo immediately jumped off her recliner and squeezed next to her. "Qiqi, it would be so great if you were a boy. You would definitely be the perfect husband."

Fu Qiyu frowned and said jokingly, "You should have said so earlier. It would have been a piece of cake for me to get a personality change..."

Momo smiled.

"But to be honest, if I had an older or younger brother, I would definitely have lured you over. Unfortunately, the only one in our family who is not much older than you is my fierce uncle, Fu Yungui."

"He's good-looking, but he's too ruthless. He's not good enough for you."

Momo was startled when she heard the name, but she didn't show it on her face and just smiled awkwardly.

The two lingered on the beach for a while, and around three o'clock they took a boat to Tonsai Bay. After arriving, they changed into their swimsuits while it was still early and went snorkeling to see the fish.

The sunset cast its golden glow on the coastline, and the sea shimmered. Momo wore a pale yellow swimsuit, her smooth and slender white legs shining brightly outside. However, the upper part of her outfit was relatively conservative, at least compared to Qi Qi's almost spilling skin, it was quite conservative.

There weren't many people around, but most of them were like them, here for a vacation and relaxation.

After putting on her goggles, Momo followed Fu Qiyu into the water.

"Momo, come this way, the coral reefs here are beautiful." Fu Qiyu said, reaching out to pull her, and Momo followed her and swam towards the middle.

Before they even reached the top of the coral reef, small black and yellow fish from all around swarmed toward them. Several of the fish kept trying to squeeze into Momo's palm, so she reached out and caught them, carefully touching their soft bodies.

Then I swam towards the middle with the school of fish, following their tracks forward.

Watching the free-swimming fish in front of her, Momo was completely immersed in the beauty before her, forgetting all the unpleasantness of yesterday.

After playing for a while, Momo went upstairs for some fresh air, and Qiqi happened to come up with her. Momo couldn't help but share with her, "These little fish are so cute."

"Yes, we came at a good time today. There weren't many people swimming here, otherwise we definitely wouldn't have had such a great time," Fu Qiyu said.

"Yes, there aren't many people here today. Maybe it's because it's too hot, and people don't really want to come out," Momo guessed.

"Possibly."

The two rested for a while and then went back down to play for a bit more. It wasn't until the light on the water's surface could no longer keep them there that they reluctantly came out of the water and prepared to go back to the hotel for dinner.

Momo got ashore, put on her sun protection clothing, and covered her wet swimsuit.

"What do you want to eat?" Fu Qiyu turned to ask her.

"Anything's fine. I'm hungry anyway, so I guess anything will taste good," Momo said with a smile.

"That's true." Swimming is the most tiring thing, and after about an hour and a half, they were already quite tired.

The two carried their equipment along the path. Phi Phi Island has almost no proper roads; most of the paths are like the one they are walking on, which are almost only accessible on foot.

It was completely dark, and the streetlights were dim and yellowish, making the dark road in front of us not particularly clear.

The two walked and chatted about happy memories from the past, completely unaware that danger was approaching from behind.

Several burly men had been watching them for a long time, waiting to make their move on this almost deserted road.

Just as they reached the fork in the road and were about to turn, which was only a few hundred meters away from their hotel, the people behind them suddenly rushed up, covered their mouths from behind, and knocked them unconscious.

The two didn't even have time to react before they fell into the hands of this group.
